POUND RIDGE

Tuesday, Dec. 2

5:20 a.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was ticketed for failure to stop at a stop sign.  

Wednesday, Dec. 3

12:15 a.m. — A woman was taken to Stamford Hospital by Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.  

8:35 a.m. — A speeding ticket was issued to a driver on Westchester Avenue for going 51 mph in a 30-mph zone.  

12:57 p.m. — A Bedford Hills man was arrested on Long Ridge Road after a collision. A check of his license showed it was suspended. He was charged with aggravated operation of a vehicle and is to appear in court Jan. 6.  

Thursday, Dec. 4

10:15 a.m. — A one-car crash on Upper Shad Road resulted in no injuries. The car was towed.  

11:00 a.m. — A young man going door-to-door soliciting was thought to be suspicious by a Calf Pasture Lane resident. Police connected with the young man who said he had paperwork from the town giving him permission to solicit. A check with the town office said they had his paperwork but hadn’t yet approved it. He was told he could come back when he had the proper permit.  

7:32 p.m. — Cones were set out as a caution in the vicinity of a downed tree on Beech Hill Lane blocking a portion of the roadway. The Highway Department was notified to remove the tree. 

12:25 p.m. — A person on Lower Shad Road flagged down an officer on patrol regarding an alarm they heard. Police spoke with the supervisor working on a site who said it was a malfunctioning alarm and they were working on silencing it.  

Friday, Dec. 5

8:02 a.m. — A speeding ticket was issued to a driver on Westchester Avenue for going 53 mph in a 30-mph zone.  

8:08 a.m. — A speeding ticket was issued to a driver on Pound Ridge Road for going 51 mph in a 30-mph zone.  

6:56 p.m. — A woman was taken to Stamford Hospital by Bedford firefighters.  No further information was provided 

Saturday, Dec 6

11:14 a.m. — A caller on Westchester Avenue was concerned about an open car door; they said a cellphone was sitting in the console. Police arrived and saw a locked, unoccupied, legally parked car.  

2:50 p.m. — Police went to a home on Cross Pond Road after the homeowner said they smelled gas inside. They told police they just started their gas fireplace. Police said there was no gas smell.  

3:18 p.m. — A man who asked for medical assistance turned it down when it arrived.  

5:55 p.m. — A caller on Salem Road reported hearing an explosion. Police patrolled the area but didn’t hear or observe anything.

9:00 p.m. — Another man who initially requested police and medical assistance changed his mind when it arrived. 

7:30 p.m. — No violations were observed during a radar patrol on Westchester Avenue.  

Sunday, Dec. 7

1:52 p.m. — Two summonses were issued to speeding drivers on Salem Road: one for 50 mph, and the other for traveling 53 mph in a marked 30-mph zone.  

2:14 p.m. — A speeding ticket was issued to a driver on Westchester Avenue for going 55 mph in a 30-mph zone.  


BEDFORD

Monday, Dec. 1

3:34 p.m. — A caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked at the Butler Sanctuary, Bedford Hills. The caller said the vehicle was rocking back and forth. Police observed it rocking on their arrival. The operator told them he was doing sit-ups for exercise and left the area shortly after. 

4:55 p.m. — Police spoke with a resident of Bedford who said he lives with his ex-girlfriend but wants her to leave. His attorney advised him to make a police report although there were no domestic incidents.  

Tuesday, Dec. 2

1:50 p.m. — A resident of Mount Kisco, male, 30, with a history of domestic violence was taken into custody by Bedford Police for violating an order of protection. An ex-girlfriend told police her place of employment notified her that the man called, asking if she still worked there, which is a violation. Police said there is a history of his violence against her. They learned he was scheduled to appear in Mount Kisco court two days later for another charge and let Westchester County Police know they would be there to intercept him. He was arrested at that courthouse and brought to Bedford to be processed. He was remanded to the county jail. 

7:10 p.m. — A male, 78, from Katonah, was reported unconscious after falling at his home. Bedford firefighters responded and said he was awake on their arrival and had a head contusion. He was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by the Bedford Fire Department.  

Wednesday, Dec. 3

8:00 a.m. — A driver, 34 from White Plains, traveling near the intersection of Bedford Center Road and Davids Hill Road, Bedford Hills, lost control of his car on a sharp and unfamiliar curve, resulting in a rollover. Police found him outside the vehicle, a Chevy Suburban. He was examined by medics and said he wasn’t injured. His car was towed from the scene. 

5:59 p.m. — A female, 78, fell at her home in Bedford Hills. She only requested help getting up.  

Thursday, Dec. 4

7:57 a.m. — A female, 21, from Somers, was reported walking on the train tracks in Katonah; police found her at the rear of Lot 1 where she was talking to her father. He explained to police she’d stopped taking her medication and had mental health issues. She was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Westchester EMS. 

9:58 a.m. — A Katonah man reported an account at his bank was hacked by someone pretending to be him; he was looking for a direct deposit transaction from his employer and saw it didn’t go through. He contacted his employer and together they realized what had happened. A police report was made for his bank and he said he will let police know if his account has been refunded.  

1:05 p.m. — Police went to a home in Bedford Hills after a caller said she was clearing out her deceased parents’ home and discovered a small handgun which she didn’t want. After checking the serial number to determine her parent was the legal owner, police vouchered it into the property locker.  

Friday, Dec. 5

12:18 p.m. — A car parked for over a week on Harris Road, Bedford Hills, was reported by a resident. Police saw a legally parked pickup not obstructing traffic. The plates came back to a Harris Road resident who was advised of the complaint and said they would move their vehicle.   

2:01 p.m. — A family was reported peddling in front of DeCiccoFamily Markets in Katonah; they were gone when police arrived. An observer said they drove north in a gray Toyota Sienna.  

Saturday, Dec. 6

9:50 a.m. — A man in a white van holding a child and a crowbar was reported by a homeowner in Bedford Hills who said she saw them on a video camera while she was not home. Police went to the residence and spoke with two men who said they work for a landscape company; the homeowner is a client. One man was using a crowbar to break up frozen dirt in a planter. No children were on scene. Police spoke with their manager on the phone and he said he would call the client.  

11:48 a.m. — A caller in Katonah reported three men dressed in black-and-red in a white sedan were opening doors in the neighborhood. The sedan was located and police spoke with a man who owns a cleaning service. He said his family members were dropping off business cards. Police advised him of the complaint and he left the area. 

2:04 p.m. — Police went to a home in Katonah for a welfare check on a man his family member described as possibly violent when intoxicated. The resident said he was out of contact with his adult child because he’d neglected to pay his phone bill. He said he didn’t need help. 

8:31 p.m. — A woman reported passed out at the Katonah train station was being assisted by a passerby who is a nurse; she said the woman was in extreme abdominal pain. The scene was turned over to Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police and the woman, 46, from Dover Plains, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Westchester EMS.  

Sunday, Dec. 7

11:58 a.m. — A caller in Bedford reported a blue minivan with the engine running; they said someone was sleeping inside. Police contacted the operator who said she had just dropped a co-worker working inside a nearby residence. As she was doing nothing illegal or suspicious, police left her to continue her nap.  

9:50 p.m. — Dogs reported outside and making a racket were reported by a caller on Tucker Road, Bedford Hills. Police went by and heard no barking. 


LEWISBORO

Squirrel visits wrong house 

On Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 7:45 p.m., a caller in South Salem asked for assistance removing a squirrel that got inside the house. The caller’s dog, prior to police arrival, grabbed the squirrel and killed it. 

Monday, Dec. 1

2:50 p.m. — An unpaid balance on an expired credit card became a civil matter between a South Salem man and his trash collection provider. He said two toters were removed from his property without his permission; the waste management company said there was an issue with his account. The man said he paid the balance but the company said there was a reinstatement fee to return the bins. After a conversation with police, a representative for the company said the bins would be returned and service would not be interrupted. 

7:40 p.m. — Westchester EMS and Vista ambulance went to a home in South Salem for a cancer patient who was taken to Norwalk Hospital.

Tuesday, Dec. 2

8:51 p.m. — An employee at ACME in Goldens Bridge contacted police to report a man who she has an active order of protection against came into her place of work and left her a note, a violation. The stay away order stemmed from a domestic incident that occurred two days before. Police spoke to the man who said he gave her a note that day saying he wanted to get his clothes inside the home. Security footage did not show him in the store when she said he left the note. The investigation was closed and marked unfounded. 

Wednesday, Dec. 3

10:48 a.m. — A man who described himself as “hammered” was taken from his home in South Salem to Northern Westchester Hospital by Vista firefighters after a caller reported him intoxicated. He requested to go to St. Vincent’s Hospital. Police said he told them he was drinking vodka and didn’t know what was happening. 

10:25 p.m. — Police went to a home in Katonah after an Uber driver reported an intoxicated woman he’d dropped off lying on her steps. Police saw her on the walkway. She told them she’d been at a concert. She was belligerent and unfriendly when escorted inside the house, police said. As she did not appear to be injured, she was left on the couch. 

Thursday, Dec. 4

10:38 a.m. — A dad asked police to check on his son who was absent from John Jay High School without reason. Police went to the home in South Salem where the son lives with his mom. He told them he’s been sick. Police told him to call the school or have his mom call so he could be officially marked absent. 

7:30 p.m. — Police went to a home in Cross River for a welfare check and found the resident lying on her garage floor with a low pulse and extremely cold. She was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Friday, Dec. 5 

9:26 a.m. — A target of what police call a “brushing scam” reported an Amazon package was delivered to his son whose account is inactive and didn’t place an order. A report was made and the caller has already been in contact with Amazon. Brushing scams involve online merchants sending items, usually of little value, to various addresses so they can post a false review online.

10:58 a.m. — A Goldens Bridge caller reported that a process server appeared on their doorstep looking for a man who hasn’t lived at that address for 16 years. Paperwork was with her without her signing for them. Police reviewed the material; there is a civil  action against the man who resides in Florida. The attorney on the forms was contacted by police. He said the address likely came up through a title search and the woman could do what she liked with those papers. 

Saturday, Dec. 6

8:43 a.m. — Police responded to a rollover on Kitchawan Road; the driver was trapped inside. He was taken to Norwalk Hospital for pain to his left side and shoulder by Vista firefighters. Due to the slippery conditions, the highway department was notified to sand the road. 

10:45 a.m. — People making a YouTube video of mattresses falling out of a truck were contacted by police after they were reported dumping on East Road, South Salem. They said they chose that location to film because the road is never busy and told police they needed “five minutes.” Police told them to make sure everything was picked up before they left. 

6:30 p.m. — A woman who slipped and fell on the ice in her yard was taken from her home in Cross River to Northern Westchester Hospital by the Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps for knee and ankle pain. 

Sunday, Dec. 7

6:08 p.m. — Police went to a home in Katonah after a neighbor reported a buzzing noise coming from a faulty radon fan. He requested police assist him with unplugging the device. 

6:20 p.m. — A woman who fell at her home in South Salem was taken to Norwalk Hospital by Vista EMS after she injured her arm and groin. 


MOUNT KISCO

Sunday, Nov. 30

3:22 a.m. — An officer spotted a vehicle stopped in the middle of North Moger Avenue with its left signal activated. The driver was found to be passed out and slumped over the wheel. When awakened, the driver told an officer he was resting and denied having consumed alcohol. After failing a field sobriety test, the driver, a 49-year-old Bedford man, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. During booking at the Green Street precinct, his blood-alcohol level was found to be three times the legal limit. Due to his high level of intoxication, he was taken by the Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Northern Westchester Hospital. The man was due in Mount Kisco Justice Court on Dec. 4.

5:27 a.m. — An officer responded to Lexington Avenue on a report of an intoxicated man not feeling well. Westchester EMS also responded and took the man to the hospital for evaluation.

12:22 p.m. — A man called Westchester County Police to report that he believes his car was stolen from the Stop & Shop parking lot on North Bedford Road. The man located the vehicle upon an officer’s arrival.

Monday, Dec. 1

1:13 p.m. — Report of an unattended vehicle idling for the past hour in a North Bedford Road parking lot. A summons was issued.

6:35 p.m. — A 46-year-old woman was detained and accused of shoplifting at Target on North Bedford Road. The woman was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor, after allegedly taking $190 worth of merchandise that she picked up after entering the store and attempting to refund it for cash. While being booked at the Green Street precinct, a records check revealed that she had provided a false name. The suspect was additionally charged with false personation, a misdemeanor. She was released on an appearance ticket and scheduled for arraignment on Dec. 18 in Mount Kisco Justice Court.

6:58 p.m. — Police received a report of downed wires on Oakridge Road. The Mount Kisco Fire Department was requested to respond.

8:31 p.m. — Police received a report of a man refusing to leave a laundromat on Lexington Avenue as directed by staff. 

Tuesday, Dec. 2

8:13 p.m. — Police received a report of a teenager not breathing at a Grove Street residence. Multiple officers arrived along with personnel from the Mount Kisco Fire Department and EMS. CPR was administered. The teen was revived and taken to a hospital. 

9 p.m. — Officers responded to Gatto Drive on a report of a domestic dispute. A party to the dispute who had called officers to report the dispute was verbal in nature only over an issue from 20 years ago. A report was prepared.

Wednesday, Dec. 3

3:08 p.m. — Officers responded to Parkview Place on a report of a small child wandering alone in a yard and near the street. Officers located a visibly upset 3-year-old who was not wearing a coat in near-freezing temperatures. The child told officers he awoke from a nap to find no one else in the home and he went outside to look for his mother and siblings. His mother was contacted by phone and arrested upon returning home. The 37-year-old woman was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and held for arraignment. Child Protective Services was contacted, and the child’s father, who was out of town on business, was also contacted. The grandparents came from New York City to take over care of the children.

Thursday, Dec. 4

4:29 a.m. — A noise complaint was received from a Barker Street resident who reported banging and yelling from a neighboring apartment.

9:40 p.m. — Police received a report of a woman injured in a fall on the 100 block of Main Street. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded and was providing care upon an officer’s arrival. The woman was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
