BEDFORD
Monday June 8
10:02 a.m. — A bear reported in the vicinity of Grove Road and Hickory Lane had departed prior to police arrival.
5:45 p.m. — Police found a woman, 88, conscious and alert but bleeding in her Katonah home. She was evaluated by medics but declined further care.
9:35 p.m. — A child, 4, was taken to Westchester Medical Center by Bedford firefighters after experiencing a seizure in his Bedford home. His mother said he has a history of seizures. Police on arrival found him in the care of EMS.
Tuesday, June 9
9:27 a.m. — A caller on Birch Drive, Bedford, reported she was inside her barn when a bear attempted to get in. The bear left and was seen climbing a fence prior to police arrival. Police searched for the bear but it was no longer in the area.
Wednesday, June 10
2:37 p.m. — A woman wanted on a warrant dated back to 2024 for petty larceny committed at Kohl’s in Bedford Hills was picked up on an unrelated charge by Yonkers Police. Bedford Police went to Yonkers to collect her and arrest and process her. She is 36 years old from lower Westchester. She is due back in court July 22.
Thursday, June 11
6:08 a.m. — A Katonah woman, 75, complaining of vertigo and nausea was taken from her home by Westchester EMS to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation.
7:28 a.m. — A Bedford man, 82, was taken from his home to Northern Westchester Hospital by Bedford firefighters for elevated heart rate.
10:54 a.m. — A Bedford Hills man reported being trapped inside his home by a snapping turtle that was blocking his exit from his house. Police moved the turtle off the front porch and to a trail on the property.
8:32 p.m. — Police went to a home in Bedford for a domestic incident between a mother, 50, and her son, 27. During an argument she stuck her finger in his face and he slapped her hand away, police said. One of them called the police. Both parties were calm on police arrival and felt they could get along for the rest of the evening. A New York state domestic incident report was completed.
Friday, June 12
5:02 p.m. — One person was taken by Bedford firefighters to Westchester Medical Center for back pain after a two-car collision on South Bedford Road by Interstate 684. Police said a driver with Connecticut plates was making a left turn out of the park-and-ride when her car was struck by another car traveling in the same lane. The Connecticut driver complained of neck pain and their passenger complained of shoulder pain but both declined further medical attention after being evaluated by medics.
8:04 p.m. — A caller on Harris Road, Bedford, said she’d just witnessed a bear fall out of a tree. The caller thought it might be injured. Police looked for the bear without result.
Saturday, June 13
2:38 a.m. — A Katonah woman, 79, was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital after experiencing an allergic reaction to something she ate. Medics on scene said her tongue was swollen.
8:08 p.m. — An 85-year-old White Plains woman was taken from a home in Bedford Hills to Westchester Medical Center after experiencing what appeared to be a stroke.
Sunday, June 14
7:06 p.m. — A 2-month-old was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital after his mother reported he had an allergic reaction while she was bathing him.
POUND RIDGE
Suspended license, using phone
On Friday, June 12, at 3:35 p.m., a South Salem man was placed under arrest on Westchester Avenue. The operator was pulled over for using his cellphone but it was soon learned his driving privileges are suspended. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and ticketed for using his cellphone while driving. He is to appear in court June 29.
Tuesday, June 9
9:52 p.m. — A driver was given a summons for doing 50 mph in a 30-mph zone.
10:48 p.m. — A person doing 50 mph in a marked 30-mph zone was given a traffic summons on Westchester Avenue.
Wednesday, June 10
12:20 p.m. —A driver on Westchester Ave was given a summons for failure to stop for a stop sign.
Thursday, June 11
8:08 a.m. — Police provided a lift assist to a man on High Ridge Road. No further assistance was requested.
8:40 a.m. — A two-car collision on Westchester Avenue resulted in no injuries and no tow.
11:58 a.m. — A summons was given to a driver on Westchester Avenue for failure to stop at a stop sign.
12:30 p.m. — Cars were observed to be legally parked on South Bedford Road despite complaints otherwise.
7:00 p.m. — A report of a tree blocking traffic on Stone Hill Road was marked unfounded.
Friday, June 12
7:00 a.m. —Drivers traveling on Westchester Avenue were issued four summonses: two for using cellphones while driving; and two for speeding.
11:31 a.m. —A person going 55 mph in a 30-mph zone was ticketed on Westchester Avenue.
3:10 pm. — A person operating a gas-fired leaf blower was issued a warning on Stone Hill Road for being in violation of local ordinance.
Saturday, June 13
8:30 a.m. —Radar detected a speeder doing 56 mph on Westchester Avenue in a 30-mph zone.
11:00 am. — Police assisted a High Ridge Road woman who accidentally locked herself out of her home. It was advised she call a locksmith.
10:00 am. — A summons was issued to a driver traveling on Westchester Avenue for broken glass on their vehicle.
11:39 a.m. — A dead fawn reported on Upper Shad was not located.
1:30 p.m. — A speeder was issued a ticket on Westchester Avenue for doing 56 mph in a 30-mph zone.
8:30 pm. — A driver was ticketed on Westchester Avenue for doing 53 mph in a marked 30-mph zone.
Sunday, June 14
11:55 a.m. — A driver traveling on Westchester Avenue was given a summons for going 50 mph in a 30-mph zone.
1:17 p.m. — A summons was issued to a driver parked on Westchester Avenue for parking in a marked handicap spot without a permit.
2:10 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was ticketed for doing 55 mph in a 30-mph zone.
Monday, June 15
2:05 a.m. — A transformer fire reported in the vicinity of Light Horse Lane brought Pound Ridge firefighters to the scene. The utility was notified.
LEWISBORO
Skimpy swimsuit
On Thursday, June 11, at 2 p.m., a man wearing only a Speedo bathing suit was reported sitting in his car parked on the grass at the Vista Park. Police advised him to cover up and not park on the grass. He left shortly after.
Monday, June 8
4:00 p.m. — A driver pulled over on Route 35 in Cross River for using their cellphone produced a foreign driver’s license. A records check revealed he’s on probation out of Danbury, Conn., and wearing an electronic monitor. The car was towed and impounded and the driver issued multiple tickets.
7:40 p.m. — Open containers of alcohol were observed on the floor of the backseat of another driver with a foreign driver’s license following a stop on Route 35; darkly tinted windows were the reason for the traffic stop. The car was towed and impounded and the driver issued two summonses.
Tuesday, June 9
2:05 p.m. — Police went to a residence in South Salem after the power company notified them of a customer who threatened to “blow them up.” The utility had a phone recording of the threat and said the caller was possibly intoxicated as their words were slurred. The resident has not paid their bill and their power has been turned off. No one responded at the residence. The police left a voicemail.
4:30 p.m. — A driver not wearing a seatbelt was pulled over at Blueberry Lane and Route 123, South Salem. The operator failed to produce a driver’s license or any photo identification. The vehicle was impounded.
5:05 p.m. — A driver doing 69 mph in a 30-mph zone was pulled over on Route 123; the operator produced two New York driver licenses. The driver said one belonged to his brother; police say it had the same name but a different date of birth. The operator was directly asked if he had shown the officer a fraudulent license and he said yes. He was directed to exit the vehicle and was placed in handcuffs. He asked to call his mother, the registered owner of the car. The contents of the vehicle were inventoried including a wallet containing a large amount of cash. His mother arrived to retrieve her vehicle and he was brought to headquarters for processing and issued a summons and a court date.
Wednesday, June 10
9:00 a.m. — Neighbors on Route 123, South Salem, had a conflict over a fallen tree. Fencing was reported damaged. One of the property owners said he had not had a chance to see the damage for himself as he does not reside at that address. Police advised no contact. A report of the fallen tree and damaged fencing was previously reported to the New York State Police Somers barracks.
2:22 p.m. — Police assisted the Lewisboro Building Department at an address on Lake Kitchawan Drive where they met with the homeowner after a tenant reported it unsafe. An inspection was performed without incident.
2:50 p.m. — A postal vehicle collided with a Land Rover on Spring Street near Church Tavern Road after the postal driver backed up without looking after they accidentally drove past a mailbox, police said. The operator of the postal vehicle was ticketed for unsafe backing.
5:00 p.m. — A bear was reported in Cross River in the vicinity of Mead Street after it dragged garbage from a resident’s waste bin. The bear was no longer on scene.
Thursday, June 11
1:00 p.m. — A South Salem couple reported an unknown party is demanding $30,000 in Bitcoin or Cash App or the blackmailer would release a compromising video the victim said they long ago deleted. Police believe the victim’s Apple ID was compromised and they were advised to delete their social media and change their email addresses and Apple ID’s and create new ones. The victims say they are not out any money.
7:30 p.m. — Police met with a Waccabuc resident who reported his ex-girlfriend, presently in New Jersey, threatened to seek a restraining order against him. The man claims his dating of other women has made her jealous and punitive. Police advised him to block her number and email.
9:10 p.m. — A South Salem couple argued and when she left the house to take a walk, she returned to find he’d locked her out. Police arrived and he opened the door.
Friday, June 12
10:50 p.m. — A Cross River man reported the night before he argued with his son over money; there was some grabbing and the father sustained bruising to his forearm. He said his son is homeless and living on the street. He was advised to seek an order of protection. The son was contacted and said his father had recently threatened self-harm. The Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps went to the residence and decided the father was a danger to himself. He was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation.
12:00 p.m. — Five firearms were taken into police custody from a home in Waccabuc after Lewisboro Police were contacted by Brick Township, N.J. police to serve an order of protection against the resident that stated all firearms be surrendered.
6:33 p.m. — A South Salem resident told police she was afraid for her safety and the safety of her daughter after her husband, a substance abuser, was supposed to get on a plane headed for Colorado for treatment but didn’t. Her fear was he might return to the residence. Police advised her to go to a motel or stay with a friend but she was indecisive. No further action was taken.
Saturday, June 13
11:30 a.m. — A Katonah resident reported his neighbor cursed him from her property while he was washing screens. The harangue continued for possibly 10 minutes before she returned inside her house. A report was made for documentation only. The reporting party said this has been going on for some time.
6:00 p.m. — Police went to West Road, South Salem, for a report of a landscaper passed out in a tree. The landscaper was awake on police arrival; he said he had not passed out and was merely dehydrated. He refused further attention.
MOUNT KISCO
Sunday, June 7
4:37 a.m. — Officers responded to Carpenter Avenue after a California woman called 911 to report that she did not feel safe. The woman told responding officers that she had rebuffed a man’s advances earlier at a bar in the village and told a friend she wanted to leave. When she arrived at the friend’s Carpenter Avenue apartment, the man from the bar was already there. Officers investigated to make sure no crime had been committed. The woman was then provided a courtesy transport to a hotel outside of the village because she did not feel safe staying at her friend’s apartment.
Monday, June 8
12:41 p.m. — A welfare check was requested on Lundy Lane. A man expressed concern for his roommate because he said the man was not fully coherent and possibly high on an illegal narcotic. An officer responded along with the Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps, which provided care at the scene and transport to the hospital.
7:45 p.m. — An officer was dispatched to the Green Street precinct to meet a woman at the callbox who wanted to report a dog bite that occurred days earlier. The Willets Road resident said a neighbor’s dog came into her yard on June 4 and attacked her, ripping her pants and biting and scratching her on the lower leg. The officer then went to the neighboring Willets Road residence and obtained the dog’s vaccine and rabies record. An animal bite form was prepared and all documents were sent to the Westchester County Department of Health for follow up.
Tuesday, June 9
12:31 a.m. — A 34-year-old man was arrested after a traffic stop at Main Street and North Bedford Road. An officer on patrol made the traffic stop after observing a vehicle driving eastbound on Main Street with a loud muffler and heavily tinted windows. The officer detected an odor of alcohol when speaking with the motorist and observed an open container of alcohol in the center console. The man failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody. It was determined during booking that he had a suspended license and was supposed to be operating a vehicle with an interlock device. The man was charged with DWI, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and using a vehicle without an interlock device, all misdemeanors.
9:49 a.m. — Officers responded to Hotel MTK on Pat Reilly Way on a report of an unresponsive guest. A 60-year-old man was found in his room and not breathing. Officers and personnel from Westchester EMS and the Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps performed CPR but could not revive the man. He was pronounced deceased by a Westchester EMS paramedic. The circumstances are not considered suspicious.
Wednesday, June 10
4:57 a.m. — Police received a report of a man, possibly intoxicated, on the ground on South Moger Avenue near Main Street. An officer located the man and requested EMS respond to evaluate him. The man declined medical attention and said he wanted to walk to his house on North Moger Avenue. It was determined it was safe for him to do so and he proceeded to his home.
2:33 p.m. — Police received a report of a broken gas pipe on Dakin Avenue. Con Edison and the Mount Kisco Fire Department responded. The street was closed to traffic while repairs were made.
5 p.m. — An officer was dispatched to the Green Street precinct to meet a man who wanted to report a crime that occurred in the past. The man told the officer that he believes another person drugged him when he was given a beverage to drink while they sat in a parked car on East Main Street. The officer prepared a report and the matter was turned over to a detective for continued investigation.
Thursday, June 11
10:37 a.m. — Police received a report of a man passed out in a driveway in the 300 block of Lexington Avenue. The man was conscious and alert upon an officer’s arrival. EMS was requested.
5:16 p.m. — Officers responded to Target on North Bedford Road to issue a trespass warning to a customer at management’s request. Staff reported that a woman had complained that the man was following her around the store and making her uncomfortable. After reviewing security video, staff requested police to respond and issue the formal trespass notice that bars the man from returning to the store.
