FRIDAY, AUG. 15

The Especially Everyone Ensemble. Bedford Playhouse, 633 Old Post Road, Bedford; bedfordplayhouse.org. The Especially Everyone Ensemble brings a blend of inclusive music and community spirit. Featuring professional musicians alongside performers of all abilities, this performance invites everyone to feel seen, heard, and part of something bigger.

Lewisboro Library Fair: Donate. Onatru Farm, 99 Elmwood Road, South Salem; lewisborolibrary.org. Gently used items will be collected for the upcoming Library Fair. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.


Artist Talk: Photographer Wei Chao. Pound Ridge Library, 271 Westchester Ave., Pound Ridge; poundridgelibrary.org. The library’s current exhibiter, Wei Chao will present a talk on his exhibition, “Invisible Worlds and Silent Colors.” From 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. 


OZland Festival. Pugsley Park, 1036 Main St., Peekskill; discoverpeekskill.com. Food and festivities at the fifth annual Ozland Festival with live music, food trucks, vendors, and family-friendly activities. From 1 to 7 p.m.


The Adirondack Nature Festival for People with Disabilities. Paul Smith’s VIC, 8023 Route 30, Paul Smiths; adirondacknaturefestivalforpeoplewithdisabilities.org. This is an accessible event to connect all individuals with nature through activities, art and music. Everyone is welcome. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.


CatVideoFest 2025. Jacob Burns Film Center, 364 Manville Road, Pleasantville; burnsfilmcenter.org. A compilation of the latest and best cat videos from unique submissions and sourced animations, music videos and the internet. A portion of the proceeds will go to SPCA Westchester; 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Encore Screenings Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and Monday at 6 p.m.


Evening With The Moths. Westmoreland Sanctuary, 260 Chestnut Ridge Road, Mount Kisco; westmorelandsanctuary.org. Ages 10 and older will explore the world of moths through tree baiting and specialized outdoor lighting. From 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.


Glenn Miller Orchestra. Ridgefield Playhouse, 80 East Ridge Road, Ridgefield, Conn., ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The iconic ensemble; 7:30 p.m.


Take It Or Leave It Shed. Bedford Hills train station parking lot; bedford2030.org. Give or take unwanted items a second life. Everything is free. From 10 a.m. to noon, weather permitting. 


John Jay Farm Market. While the Homestead is undergoing restoration, Farm Market will be held in Katonah in Lot 2, entrance at Coldwell Banker, exit at Katonah Art and Frame Shop; johnjayhomestead.org. The seasonal market offers produce, fruit and flowers, baked goods, cheese, meats, seafood, coffee and teas, and more. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.


North Salem Farmers Market. Commuter parking lot, Back Street, Croton Falls; northsalemfarmersmarket.org. A mix of curated vendors, live music, flowers, kid-friendly activities, and more. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.


Pleasantville Farmers Market. 10 Memorial Plaza, Pleasantville; pleasantvillefarmersmarket.org. The Market hosts 60 vendors selling a variety of fresh greens, meats, dairy items, root crops, apples, prepared foods and more. From 9:30 a.m. to noon.


SUNDAY, AUG. 17

Jazz Guitar Duo. Katonah Village Library, 26 Bedford Road, Katonah; katonahlibrary.org.

Fenton Lio and Annie Meyer perform for the community. From 3 to 4 p.m.


Jewish Cultural Festival. Kensico Dam Plaza, Valhalla; parkswestchestergov.com. Family- friendly event, music, food and more. From noon to 6 p.m.

MONDAY, AUG. 18

Lego Contest.  Bedford Hills Community House, 74 Main St., Bedford Hills; bedfordny.gov. To showcase the Community House’s clean heat and cooling, Bedford 2030 and the town of Bedford will team up with NYSERDA Experience Clean Heat to hold a Lego contest with prizes. Bricks will be provided. From 5 to 7 p.m.


TUESDAY, AUG. 19

Westchester’s Children’s Museum Art to Animation. Katonah Village Library, 26 Bedford Road, Katonah; katonahlibrary.org. Grades 3 to 5 will learn about the evolution of art to animation, exploring the scientific principles and technology. Activities include creating a narrative through images and making early animation devices. From 4 to 5 p.m.


WEDNESDAY, AUG. 20

Car Seat Installation. Mount Kisco Honda, 650 Bedford Road, Bedford Hills; bedfordny.gov. Have your car seat installed or checked by one of our certified police officers. This is a free service. From 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.


Unlocking the Secrets of Social Security. Lewisboro Library, 15 Main St., South Salem; lewisborolibrary.org. This class is for anyone who hasn’t yet started collecting Social Security and wants to make a smart, informed choice about when and how to claim benefits. From 7 to 8 p.m.

Bedford 2030 Book Club Bash. The Reading Room, 19 Edgemont Road, Katonah; katonahreadingrom.com. Staff from Bedford 2030 will chat about the book, “What If We Get It Right,” a collection of interviews that maps an inspiring landscape of possible climate futures. From 6 to 7:30 p.m.


The Effects of Plastic on Our Health and Future. Lewisboro Library, 15 Main St., South Salem; lewisborolibrary.org. Robert Whittaker, of the Lewisboro Sustainability Committee will lead this presentation and group discussion. Hear about plastic waste and its impact on human and animal life, the impact of microplastics on the human body, and what actions individuals and communities can take to reduce our plastic use and waste; 7 p.m.

PARKS

Croton Gorge Park. 35 Yorktown Road, Croton-on-Hudson; parks.westchestergov.com. The 97-acre park at the base of the New Croton Dam is open seven days a week, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.


Croton Point Park. 1 Croton Point Ave., Croton-on-Hudson; parks.westchestergov.com. The 508-acre park situated on a peninsula on the east shore of the Hudson River is open seven days a week, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.


John Jay Homestead. 400 Jay St., Katonah; johnjayhomestead.org. Visitors may explore the 62-acre park and seven gardens. Open daily, sunrise to sunset.


Teatown Lake Reservation. 1600 Spring Valley Road, Ossining; teatown.org. The trails on the 1,000-acre nature preserve and education center are open daily, dawn to dusk. Dogs on leash are allowed.


Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. 6 Reservation Road, Cross River; friendsoftrailside.org. The 4,315-acre park has varied terrain with miles of wooded trails. The Trailside Nature Museum is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesdays-Saturdays.


Westmoreland Sanctuary. 260 Chestnut Ridge Road, Mount Kisco; westmorelandsanctuary.org. A 640-acre nature preserve with 7.5 miles of hiking trails. The preserve and Nature Center are free and open to the public seven days a week.
