BEDFORD
Highly intoxicated at 8 in the morning
A 26-year-old man from Danbury, Conn., was arrested at 8:09 a.m. Sunday, May 9, in the vicinity of Edna Street and Plainfield Avenue in Bedford after driving into a fence.
Police found him sitting in his vehicle minus his pants. He denied he’d been drinking despite open beer bottles visible inside the vehicle. He was asked to get dressed and get out of the car where he failed numerous field sobriety tests and was brought to headquarters for processing. He was issued four tickets. Due to his level of intoxication he was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by the Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps. His vehicle was towed to the police impound.
Monday, May 4
11:30 a.m. — A traffic stop at Babbitt and Buxton roads, Bedford Hills, resulted in multiple summonses issued and a vehicle towed. Police said they pulled over a trailer for no inspection sticker and then learned the vehicle wasn’t registered and was also being operated in violations of safety standards.
2:13 p.m. — A terminated employee refusing to leave their place of work at a deli in Bedford Hills was reported by the manager. Police utilized their new translation app available through their bodycams to enable the conversation. The manager said the employee was terminated after repeatedly being warned about taking too many phone calls. Police said that ultimately it was a civil matter.
3:59 p.m. — A caller reported a driver possibly impaired on Parkway, Katonah. Police located the described vehicle which was reported driving over a curb. An officer observed a middle-aged man making an illegal U-turn. He was pulled over but had no wallet on him. He gave his name to the officer who learned his license was suspended; he received two summonses. Police said he showed no signs of impairment.
10:15 p.m. — Police went to a home in Bedford Hills after a man’s friend said she hadn’t heard from him in a few days and neither had his boss. The man told police he was fine and he would let them know if he needed assistance.
Tuesday, May 5
1:06 p.m. — A Bedford Hills woman reported a check she dropped in the mailbox at the Bedford Hills post office was washed and altered and fraudulently cashed to an unknown party. She’s been in contact with her bank’s fraud department. A report was made for documentation and the postal inspector was notified.
3:30 p.m. — Allegations of abuse involving a minor at a show barn on Stone Hill Road, Bedford, were reported by a representative for the U.S. Center for SafeSport. The alleged victim lives in Lewisboro. Police said the incident involves inappropriate comments and that the investigation is being handled internally between the involved parties.
Wednesday, May 6
10:54 a.m. — A man reported in emotional distress was reported by a caller at the intersection of Bedford Avenue and Buxton Road. Police spoke with the man who said there was nothing wrong and he was going home.
7:39 p.m. — Female roommates not getting along and one sending the other rude text messages brought police to a home in Bedford Hills. Police suggested to the recipient they didn’t have to respond and advised the rude sender to mind their own business.
Thursday, May 7
11:32 a.m. — A man reported going door-to-door in Katonah in the vicinity of North Street and High Street told residents he was there to read meters when the town highway department and the water department said no visits were scheduled to the area. Police determined the man was reading meters for Bedford’s 2030 initiative, representing Green Power Associates, for planned water inspections. Residents said they were never notified of the activity.
7:15 p.m. — A shirtless man reported walking on Route 35 was gone prior to police arrival.
8:06 p.m. — Police went to a residence in Katonah for an ongoing series of domestic incidents between a man who said his girlfriend is no longer his girlfriend. She said they argued on text and in person and he changed the locks and that they are still working on their relationship. A New York state domestic incident report was completed.
Friday, May 8
10:32 a.m. — The owner of a pet rescue in Bedford reported that she continues to be harassed on social media by a specific individual. She said the sharp criticisms posted upset her adult children. Police advised her of the steps necessary to build a defamation case, and said it was a civil matter.
3:33 p.m. — A caller requested a welfare check on male teen asking for a ride on West Patent and South Bedford roads. When located he told the police he accidentally left his girlfriend’s phone on the school bus and was trying to get back to campus to retrieve it. The officer told him to go home and he could retrieve the phone Monday.
Saturday, May 9
4:36 p.m. — Shots fired and yelling and screaming were reported coming from a residence on Croton Lake Road. Police went to the home and spoke with a woman. The call was determined to be a swatting call.
8:12 p.m. — A bear reportedly stuck on a guardrail on South Bedford Road had self extricated and left the area prior to police arrival.
Sunday, May 10
10:45 a.m. — A Sarles Street resident reported a man in his 50s pulled into her driveway and began photographing her residence. She confronted him and he said he was a realtor but didn’t say who with. She was unable to provide police with a license plate. Police advised her to lock her doors and use her security cameras and call if he came back.
1:51 p.m. — Police went to a home in Katonah for a welfare check of an intoxicated elderly man who was potentially self-harming. He didn’t come to the door but police could see him through a window. He was convinced to let them in and was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation.
7:03 p.m. — Police intervened in a domestic situation in Katonah after a father called the police to say his intoxicated adult son was getting into fights with his sister and her daughter. There was some minor physical activity, said police. The intoxicated man declined to talk to the police. His sister said she was leaving to avoid further escalation. She said she’d already spoken with the Westchester County Mobile Crisis Response Team in the past and would reach out to them again. A New York state domestic incident report was completed.
LEWISBORO
Monday, May 4
7:25 a.m. — A woman came to headquarters to report ongoing harassment by a neighbor in her South Salem community. They serve on a board together. She reported daily disturbing emails from this man who she said also stalks her and blocks her with his car. She told police he threatened to hurt her outdoor cats that wander onto his property. Police advised her to keep a detailed log of the harassment to bring to court; officers cannot write summonses for violations that don’t occur in their presence.
6:30 p.m. — Potholes on West Lane were reported by a Smith Ridge Road woman who said the potholes damaged her vehicle that morning resulting in tire and rim damage. She brought police to the location of the hole and requested information about who to contact regarding her complaint.
Tuesday, May 5
9:00 a.m. — Additional court security was requested at the courthouse for the People v. Bringas trial. Police said the detail concluded at 1 p.m. without incident.
11:30 a.m. — A driver who told police she swerved to avoid hitting a squirrel on Main Street, Goldens Bridge, reported her car left the roadway, traveled onto the road shoulder and struck a mailbox before bouncing back into traffic and onto the opposite shoulder where it struck a tree. A report was made for property damage only.
2:30 p.m. — A Cross River woman reported fraud after checks she mailed from the drop box at the Cross River post office were intercepted and checks were washed, altered and at least one deposited. An officer went to her bank in Katonah and spoke with the manager but the bank said she would need to file a police report to continue the investigation. The postal inspector was notified.
Wednesday, May 6
10:53 a.m. — Driveway issues and an easement continue to cause friction between neighbors in Goldens Bridge. One party came to headquarters about a complaint of a grandchild trespassing. They said their home is for sale and hopefully they can put this all behind them. Police advised them for the short term to avoid contact.
Thursday, May 7
8:20 a.m. — A driver came to headquarters to say he’d been traveling westbound on Route 35, Cross River, when a red Jeep Wrangler tailgated him and then cut him off by going around him when he was turning onto Route 121. The reporting party said he swerved and collided with a guard rail, damaging his vehicle. He provided police with the Jeep’s license plate which is registered in Brewster.
9:15 p.m. — A babysitter requested assistance after accidentally locking the family cat inside her car at an address on Spring Street, South Salem. The cat escaped and was loose in the yard; she herded it into her car where she thought it would be secure before realizing her keys were inside the locked car. The lockout tool was utilized and the cat rescued and returned inside the house.
Friday, May 8
7:54 a.m. — An elderly woman was taken by Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Northern Westchester Hospital for difficulty breathing and fluid retention. A Westchester paramedic traveled with her in the ambulance.
14:33 p.m. — Staff at the Lewisboro Library expressed concern for an elderly female patron. While at the library earlier in the day, she left to take a walk, leaving her personal belongings behind and was gone for three hours. She was eventually located at her home in Ridgefield, Conn., and in good health.
Saturday, May 9
8:55 a.m. — A woman was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Westchester EMS after falling in her kitchen and injuring her head.
3:00 p.m. — A domestic incident was reported at a home in South Salem. A woman came to headquarters to report it. No further information was provided.
Sunday, May 10
11:07 a.m. — A woman, 82, in Goldens Bridge was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital after falling on the front steps at her home. It was unknown how long she was there. Her husband was found inside the house in a bed with guardrails. Police contacted their son in Mount Kisco who said he would come to his parents’ home. Police stayed with the father until he got there.
2:29 p.m. — Dogs were reported on a field where a football event was held in Cross River. An event organizer who owned the dogs said he would take them home as they were disruptive.
MOUNT KISCO
Speeding stop leads to gun, drug charges
A 53-year-old Pennsylvania man was arrested on multiple felony charges after being stopped for speeding in the vicinity of Kisco Avenue and the Saw Mill River Parkway on May 7 at 12:09 p.m. After investigation, the man was found to be in possession of 22 grams of crack cocaine that was hidden in his underwear.
An electronic stun gun was also found in his car. The man was booked at the Green Street precinct on charges of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
He also was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor, and issued a summons for speeding. He was arraigned in Mount Kisco Justice Court in the evening and remanded to the Westchester County jail. He is scheduled to appear next in court on May 13.
Sunday, May 3
12:21 a.m. — An officer responded to Hotel MTK to assist a man injured in a fall. EMS was requested.
3:32 a.m. — A man called police from a bar on South Moger Avenue to report that he was being intimidated by another person. Responding officers determined there was no condition.
1:41 p.m. — An officer observed a man drinking from a can of beer at Main Street and Lexington Avenue. A summons was issued for public consumption of an alcoholic beverage, a violation.
8:38 p.m. — Police received a report of gunshots in the vicinity of Foxwood Circle. An officer reported that he had heard fireworks in that area while he patrolled a short time earlier. The area was checked again.
10:47 p.m. — A Carpenter Avenue man reported that someone threw an object at his front door a short time earlier. He was unable to provide a description of any party involved.
Monday, May 4
4:08 a.m. — An officer responded to South Moger Avenue to assist a man injured in a fall. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps also responded and took him to the hospital.
10:31 a.m. — An officer responded to a business on South Moger Avenue after a 911 hang-up call was received. It was determined there was no emergency.
10:31 a.m. — An officer and Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department responded to Spring Street on a report that a fence near a home was on fire. The homeowner was able to extinguish the small fire as firefighters responded.
5:27 p.m. — Officers responded to Spring Street on a report of a dispute between a father and son that was verbal in nature. The Westchester County Mobile Crisis Response Team was requested. A New York state domestic incident report was prepared.
Monday, May 5
5:45 a.m. — An officer responded to West Street to assist a woman experiencing stomach pain. Westchester EMS also responded and took her to a hospital.
Tuesday, May 6
5:58 p.m. — Police responded to a motor vehicle collision in the 600 block of East Main Street. One person experienced chest pain and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
8:36 p.m. — A noise complaint on Spring Street was reported.
Wednesday, May 7
5:17 a.m. — Police received a complaint of three intoxicated men at the Mount Kisco train station. They were directed to leave the area. An officer remained at the station until 5:54 a.m. to ensure they did not return.
6:55 a.m. — An officer responded to Amuso Drive to assist a man in his 60s who was experiencing low blood pressure. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
10:44 p.m. — A resident came to the Green Street precinct to file a fraud complaint. A patrol officer prepared a report and turned the matter over to detectives for continued investigation.
6:54 p.m. — A 56-year-old White Plains resident turned himself in with his attorney on two outstanding warrants issued by Mount Kisco Justice Court. He was booked on the warrant charges of second-degree criminal contempt and resisting arrest. He was brought to village court where the charges were dismissed. The man also had an outstanding arrest warrant in Pleasantville and was held at the precinct until Pleasantville Police responded and took him into custody.
9:28 p.m. — An intoxicated man called police from the 100 block of Lexington Avenue. He was located by officers and EMS was requested.

Tuesday, May 5
12:57 a.m. — A man was taken to Danbury Hospital by the Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
7:30 a.m. — A man was taken by ambulance to Greenwich Pospital.
3:20 p.m. — A parking problem was reported on Old Stone Hill Road, specifically a trailer blocking the roadway. Police said it was gone prior to their arrival.
4:33 p.m. — A domestic incident was reported on Upper Shad Road. No further information was provided.
8:20 p.m. — A disabled vehicle reported on Long Ridge Road was towed.
9:50 p.m. — During a traffic detail on Westchester Avenue one summons was issued to a driver for failure to obey a traffic device.
Wednesday, May 6
9:04 a.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was ticketed for failure to stop at a stop sign.
9:45 a.m. — During a speed enforcement on Lower Shad Road no violations were found.
12:37 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was ticketed for going 59 mph in a 30-mph zone.
4:10 p.m. — A mental health incident was reported on Fancher Road. No further information was provided.
9:23 p.m. — A man was taken by ambulance to Greenwich Hospital.

9:15 a.m. — A caller reported traffic cones were set out on Stone Hill Road but there was no flagger. Police on arrival saw no cones or any people.
10:00 a.m. — Criminal mischief was reported on private property on Old Mill River Road. Police are investigating.
8:02 p.m. —A driver was picked up on radar doing 49 mph in a 30-mph zone. Police made contact and issued a speeding ticket.
Saturday, May 9
4:50 a.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was ticketed for failure to stop at a stop sign.
11:05 a.m. — A driver doing 54 mph in a 30-mph zone was ticketed on Westchester Avenue.
12:10 p.m. — A woman was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital.
1:30 p.m. — A woman taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital by the Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Westchester EMS.
3:30 p.m. — Fraud was reported by a resident who said a check they mailed from the Pound Ridge post office was washed and altered and cashed by an unknown party. Their banking representative advised the victim to file a police report in hopes of getting their money refunded.
3:54 p.m. — A woman was taken by ambulance to Stamford Hospital.
6:30 p.m. — A car was reported parked on Westchester Avenue in an active construction zone; police located the operator who moved the car.
9:30 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was issued two summons for failure to stop at a stop sign, and no insurance.
