POUND RIDGE

Tuesday, March 10

1:30 p.m. — Wires reported blocking the roadway on Stone Hill Road were moved to the side of the road by police who notified the utility and opened the road.

5:50 p.m. — A traffic detail on Salem Road resulted in six summonses being issued: five for failure to obey a traffic device and one for unlicensed driver.  

Wednesday, March 11

5:40 p.m. — Two summonses were issued to drivers traveling on Westchester Avenue for failure to stop at a stop sign.  

Thursday, March 12

11:16 a.m. — A caller on Salem Road reported a trash bin in the roadway;  on arrival police saw Grizzly Junk Pros loading the dumpster and said no further action was required.  

11:37 a.m. — A man, age and condition unknown, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by the Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps. 

12:10 p.m. — A man who requested a lift assist at his home refused further medical attention from Pound Ridge ambulance crew members after he was helped back to his seat. 

4:09 p.m. — A Fox Run Road resident reported fraudulent accounts were opened in their name. Police said the incident is under investigation. 

Friday, March 13

8:30 a.m. — A one-car crash on  Route 124 resulted in no injuries and no tow. 

2:02 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was given a ticket for their failure to stop at a stop sign.  

5:15 p.m. — A traffic detail conducted on Highview Road resulted in two summonses: one for failure to obey a traffic device and the other for failure to report change of home address.  

6:50 p.m. — A one-car crash on Trinity Pass Road ended with the car being towed. The operator refused medical attention from Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corp. 

Saturday, March 14

12:28 p.m. — A car parked facing the wrong direction on Trinity Pass Road was given a ticket for improper parking. 

6:15 p.m. — A driver on Trinity Pass Road was issued a ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign. 

7:05 p.m. — A dog found on Doe View Lane was safely returned to its owner. 

Sunday, March 15

11:00 a.m. — A radar detail on Westchester Avenue resulted in one driver being issued a summons for speeding, doing 53 mph in a marked 30-mph zone. 


BEDFORD

Unwanted delivery to Seven Springs 

On Tuesday, March 10, at 11:51 a.m., a woman who identified herself as “Freedom Angel” called police headquarters  to say she was delivering an angel statue to Seven Springs in Bedford, which is owned by the Trump Organization. She said she was aware who owns the property and requested a police escort. Dispatch contacted the property manager who said no deliveries were scheduled. Dispatch then notified the U.S. Secret Service office in White Plains. The Seven Springs property manager at 2:48 p.m. notified police the woman was at the gate but was denied entry. North Castle Police also contacted Bedford Police to say the woman had also contacted them asking for an escort. Police said she left the property with her statue. 


Bedford Hills man, 19, charged with DWI 

On Monday, March 16, at 10:47 p.m., police arrested a Bedford Hills man, 19, after responding to a report of a disabled vehicle in the vicinity of Bedford Center Road and Buxton Road in Bedford Hills. On arrival they saw a car with extensive damage to the front wheel and bumper; the operator was standing outside the car, observed swaying and unsteady on his feet. On closer observation his eyes were bloodshot, his speech slurred and there was a strong odor of alcohol on him, police said. Field sobriety tests were conducted and as a result, an ambulance was called. The car was towed but not before police discovered multiple open containers of alcohol inside the car as well as cannabis. The man was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI and using cannabis while operating a motor vehicle. Due to his level of intoxication he was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by the Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps and issued a summons to appear in court April 8. 

Monday, March 9 

6:42 p.m. — A Chappaqua resident, 13, was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital after injuring her knee at the Northern Westchester School of Dance in Katonah.  

Tuesday, March 10

11:06 a.m. — An irate man was reported causing a disturbance in the lobby of the Bedford Town House after arguing with the town clerk, who informed him he’d missed his date to appear in court. Police found him in the parking lot by his car. He was calm by the time police met with him and left the scene. 

4:01 p.m. — A student reported missing by his father after he took a different bus was located at the gym of the Saw Mill Club in Mount Kisco after a search was conducted on the trails of the Mianus River Gorge, where the student, 13, is known to hike and walk. Police said he was never missing but there was a missed communication between him and his brother who he texted to say he wasn’t coming straight home. His brother received the text late.

Wednesday, March 11

10:18 a.m. — A 102-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital after falling in her home. Police said it was unclear how long she was lying on the floor. She was alert and conscious on police arrival. 

4:16 p.m. — A resident of Mount Holly Road, Katonah, came to headquarters seeking paperwork to obtain a new Jamaican passport. She said she lost or misplaced her original document sometime in the past. She was provided with the paperwork she needed. 

Thursday, March 12

10:59 a.m. — A resident of Anderson Road, Katonah, 28, came to headquarters to report someone was using her personal information to create new email accounts and accounts on social media. She said a letter of resignation she never wrote was sent to her employer at a school in Rye. Police advised her to make a report as well to that police department. She said she had an idea who wrote the letter and indicated it was an act of retaliation although she declined to say why. A report was made for documentation.  

9:15 p.m. — No one was injured after a car crashed into a tree on Lily Pond Lane, Katonah. The operator, 24, from Glen Oaks, advised police he was driving too fast and lost control of the Hertz rental car. He was evaluated on scene by medics but declined further help. The car was towed. No citations were issued.  

Friday, March 13

12:27 p.m. — A loose horse reported in the roadway in the vicinity of Cantitoe Street and Katonah Woods Road was safely back in its stable prior to police arrival.  

3:40 p.m. — A young man reported running in and out of traffic in the area of Stone Hill and Old Post roads was gone before police arrived.  

Saturday March 14

1:35 a.m. — Police responded to a 911 call about a man attempting to take his friend’s car. Police looked for anyone who might have been involved and searched the area between Adams Street and Bedford Road. All parties were gone prior to their arrival.   

9:59 p.m. — Another agency contacted Bedford Police to check on the welfare of a Bedford Hills woman who contacted them to say her ex-husband tried to pick their children up from school March 11. The mother said he was intoxicated at the time and she was upset. Police made contact with the daughter who said her mother was fine and at the movies. She was requested to contact children’s services to tell them she was OK. 

Sunday, March 15

10:17 a.m. — Police and Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps personnel went to a home in Katonah for a report of a woman experiencing difficulty breathing. On arrival they spoke with the woman who said she’d had a panic attack after arguing with her son over his wish to see his girlfriend. The son told police their argument was verbal only and he was the one to call 911. The mother refused medical attention and a New York state domestic incident report was completed for both parties.   

9:36 p.m. — A resident of Robinson Avenue, Bedford Hills, asked police to check on a man they reported intoxicated in their driveway. Police located the man, 59, from Armonk, at the train station where he identified himself and was clearly intoxicated. He was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation.


LEWISBORO

Monday, March 9

10:40 a.m. — A police officer attempted to serve an order of protection to a West Road, South Salem, resident at their home. The individual did not respond to a knock at the door. As no vehicle was parked in the driveway, it’s assumed they were not at home. 

6:45 p.m. — Police returned to West Road to serve paperwork to the resident who this time came to the door, identified themselves and denied being in possession of firearms. The paperwork was signed and the protected party advised the paperwork was successfully served. 

Tuesday, March 10

8:30 p.m. — Police assisted a South Salem woman who said she’d been contacted by letter that her license plate was attached to another vehicle that had shirked paying tolls going into New York City. The officer saw the plate might have been misread by the camera due to glare and contacted an agency to resolve the situation and assign blame to the correct car. 

Wednesday, March 11

1:30 p.m. — A gray Hyundai with heavily tinted windows was stopped on Route 123; the car had an expired license plate. The driver offered a Connecticut driver’s license and expired registration. The vehicle was impounded. 

3:33 p.m. — An abandoned vehicle with California plates was impounded after it was reported sitting unoccupied and badly parked just outside Four Winds Hospital. Police said the owner was contacted to inform them where the car was towed. 

Thursday, March 12

2:22 p.m. — An abandoned vehicle reported blocking traffic in the northbound lane in the vicinity of Benedict Road and Autumn Ridge Road, South Salem, was towed and impounded. Police were unable to find any information about who owned it. 

5:35 p.m. — A woman who reported she was hearing voices was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by staff at her Goldens Bridge group home for medical attention for mental health issues. Police said she called 911 in an agitated state. 

Friday, March 13

8:00 p.m. — A woman, age and address unknown, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after police pulled over her Toyota Rav4 on Route 35 in Cross River after observing her driving very slowly and swerving on the roadway. Inside the car were found five empty alcoholic cider cans in the car and another can in her purse. The cup holder in the console held a half full Dunkin’ Donuts cup of hard cider. An open bottle of wine was also found on the back seat. The woman failed all field sobriety tests. Police brought her to Bedford police headquarters to administer a chemical test; she registered 0.19 blood alcohol count. She was issued multiple tickets including a summons to appear in court March 30. 

Saturday, March 14

10:17 a.m. — Lifesaving measures were administered to a man, 81, in Pound Ridge after his daughter found him lying on an upstairs floor of his home. The man was unresponsive and there was no pulse. A DNR was eventually located by his daughter in a safe. The man was pronounced deceased by a Westchester EMS medic. 

4:50 p.m. — A caller on East Street, South Salem, reported a dog wandering and lost and possibly in need of medical assistance. Police said the dog had a skin condition and multiple tumors but did not appear to be abused or malnourished. The owner was contacted and said the dog is being treated by a vet and escaped through a fallen fence. 

Sunday, March 15

9:36 a.m. — Criminal mischief was reported by a Goldens Bridge man who said his driveway reflector and mailbox were damaged. No cameras were in the area to determine what might have happened. The reporting party said he would attend to the repairs himself and a report was made for documentation. 

10:18 a.m. — A portion of Oscaleta Road, South Salem, was reported to have collapsed. No cars or pedestrians were involved. Multiple agencies and entities were alerted including Hudson Valley Transportation Management, the Lewisboro Highway Department, the school district, South Salem Fire Department and Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Police stayed on scene until road closure signs were put out between South Shore Drive and Twin Lakes Road. 

11:45 a.m. — A Cross River resident came to headquarters to report vandalism to their car. “GOD” was scratched on the trunk and also in fingerprints on the dust on the vehicle. A report was made for documentation. 


MOUNT KISCO

Saturday, March 7

9:13 a.m. — An officer on patrol returned to the Green Street precinct to meet a man at the callbox who wanted to report a previous incident. The man said his car was damaged by a hit-and-run driver on March 5 while it was parked in Kirby Plaza. An officer checked with three businesses that have cameras but no usable video was located.  

10:54 a.m. — Police received a report of a man panhandling in front of ShopRite on North Bedford Road. The condition was corrected.

11:37 a.m. — An officer responded to the Green Street precinct to meet a man at the callbox who wanted to report a hit-and-run property damage accident that just occurred in the parking lot behind Barnes & Noble. The man said he observed a vehicle back into his car and drive away. He provided a photo of the vehicle that he said was responsible, including its license plate. The officer reviewed security video from the store that showed the incident. The officer went to a Chappaqua residence at 12:31 p.m. and issued the driver, a man in his 70s, a summons charging him with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, a violation.   

1:27 p.m. — A customer at Home Goods reported that her bag had been stolen. The woman stated that she put her bag down at one point while shopping and returned to that spot when she realized she didn’t have it. The bag and its contents, valued at $1,300, were gone. Store staff members were unable to immediately access security video. The matter was turned over to a detective for investigation.

3:05 p.m. — Police received a report of an intoxicated man refusing to leave the Tipsy Taco Bar on East Main Street. When an officer arrived, the man requested to be taken to the hospital. He was taken to Westchester Medical Center for evaluation.

8:27 p.m. — Police received a report of a man passed out in front of a Moore Avenue residence. The man was found to be intoxicated and EMS was requested. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the man to the hospital.

10:39 p.m. — A Grove Street resident reported that he was followed home by a gray Jeep, which blocked his driveway after he pulled into it. He provided a license plate number, and officers located the Jeep on Lexington Avenue. It was determined that a brief verbal road rage incident had occurred. The jeep driver was advised against returning to the residence. 

10:49 p.m. — A woman reported that three teens in a car threw objects at her as she walked on Main Street near West Hyatt Avenue. The woman, who was injured, said she did not wish to speak to an officer in person but wanted to report the incident. Officers canvassed the area for the vehicle, described as a black BMW, but did not locate it.

Sunday, March 8

12:34 a.m. — A man was injured after falling on Main Street near Green Street. He declined medical attention. Due to intoxication, he was given a ride to his home nearby to ensure his safe arrival.

1:11 a.m. — Report of an intoxicated man yelling at West and Locust streets. EMS was requested. The Chappaqua Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded and took the man to the hospital.

12:17 p.m. — An officer observed a man with an open can of beer near St. Francis of Assisi Church at Main and Green streets. He was issued a summons for public consumption of an alcoholic beverage, a violation. He threw the summons on the ground and was issued a separate one for littering. Both violations are returnable to village court on March 26.

2:37 p.m. — An officer on Lexington Avenue observed a man drinking a beer and issued him a summons for public consumption of an alcoholic beverage, a violation. The man became belligerent, tore the summons up and threw it on the ground. He was then issued a summons for littering. As the officer was leaving the scene, he observed the man tear that summons up and throw it on the ground. A second summons was issued for littering and the man was advised he could face arrest if he continued causing a disturbance. All three summonses were returnable to village court.

3:20 p.m. — Police received a report of an intoxicated man in front of the courthouse entrance picking up goose droppings and garbage and throwing the items around. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps was requested to take the man to the hospital. The Mobile Crisis Response Team was notified for follow-up contact.

7:07 p.m. — Police received a report of an intoxicated woman at a deli in Kirby Plaza refusing to leave the store. After speaking with an officer, the woman agreed to take a taxi home.

Monday, March 9

3:04 p.m. Officers responded to Lundy Lane on a report of a physical altercation between two building tenants. Neither party wanted to press charges. The landlord was advised.

3:33 p.m. — Report of a possible larceny involving a check for $1,941, which was stolen, altered to change the payee and cashed. An investigation is continuing.

4:40 p.m. — An officer was dispatched to the Green Street precinct to meet a person reporting an attempted check fraud. The complainant, a representative of a church in the village, reported that a stolen check was written for $95,000 but flagged by the bank as suspicious and put on hold. It is believed a church checkbook sent through the mail was stolen. The matter was turned over to a detective who is being assisted by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.

Tuesday, March 10

12:23 p.m. — An officer was dispatched to the Green Street precinct to take a larceny complaint. A man reported that his coat was stolen the previous day from the reception area at his doctor’s office. The coat and its contents, including Ray-Ban sunglasses and a key fob, were valued at $628. An officer spoke with staff at the doctor’s office who verified that they had contacted all patients who had appointments around the same time but none said they had taken the coat by mistake. A report was prepared.

4:35 p.m. — Officers responded to a dentist’s office in the village after a woman reported that her child’s grandmother had taken the child to an appointment but then drove away with the boy afterward without her permission even though the mother was now present. She said she believed the woman was taking the child to her son, the boy’s dad, in violation of a court-issued visitation schedule. A Westchester County police lieutenant assigned to headquarters in Hawthorne subsequently located the vehicle on the Sprain Brook Parkway, made a traffic stop and had all parties brought to headquarters. A New York state domestic incident report was prepared and the boy was turned over to his mother.

7:21 p.m. — An officer observed an apparently intoxicated man stumbling in the area of Green Street and Lexington Avenue. The man then fell to the sidewalk. EMS was requested and the Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to take the man to a hospital for evaluation.

9:54 p.m. — A woman reported that she was in the Northern Westchester Hospital parking garage. She hung up without saying anything else. As an officer responded to investigate, the same woman called back to say a person was being held hostage in a pickup truck on Route 117. The phone number was linked to a number of false reports made recently to county and Mount Pleasant police. As a precaution, county and Bedford Police canvassed the Route 117 area but the call was subsequently deemed unfounded.

Wednesday, March 11

9:33 a.m. — A man turned himself in at the Green Street precinct on an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Mount Kisco Justice Court. The man said the warrant was issued after he failed to appear in court on March 5 to answer a charge of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. An officer returned to the precinct, verified the warrant and held him for arraignment. At arraignment, he was released on his own recognizance and ordered to return to court.

12:29 p.m. — An officer conducting an inspection in the Blackeby parking lot observed a man with an open can of beer behind the movie theater. The man was issued a summons for public consumption of an alcoholic beverage, a violation. He is due in Mount Kisco Justice Court on April 9.

4:45 p.m. — Police received a report of a pedestrian struck by a car in the 300 block of Main Street. Upon arrival, officers determined a property damage motor vehicle accident had occurred but there was no pedestrian involvement. 

5:10 p.m. — A 52-year-old woman was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor, after she left Target on North Bedford Road without paying for $97 worth of merchandise while scanning other items at the self-checkout lane. She was booked at the Green Street precinct and released pending a March 19 appearance in village court.

5:45 p.m. — An officer observed a man drinking a beer on Sarles Avenue near Highland Avenue. He was issued a summons for public consumption of an alcoholic beverage, a violation. He tore the summons up and threw it in the street. He was issued an additional summons for littering, a violation. Both violations are returnable to Mount Kisco Justice Court on April 9.

9:23 p.m. — An unattended hard-shell case was observed on a bench at the Mount Kisco train station. County police secured the area and MTA police responded with an explosives detection canine. The case, apparently used to store a drone, was empty.

Thursday, March 12

2:55 p.m. — A man arrived at the Green Street precinct to report an assault that occurred the previous day. The man stated that he had been speaking with two men who were known to him about 9:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Lexington Avenue when an argument broke out. He said he was punched three times while standing and again repeatedly after he had fallen to the ground. He said he wants to press charges against the two men involved. Detectives are continuing the investigation.

5:32 p.m. — A woman came to the Green Street precinct to report that her purse was stolen from her as she walked on East Main Street. She said she was followed by two men, one of whom is known to her, after she left work nearby. The men took her purse containing $30 and fled. Patrol officers canvassed the area, located one of the suspects near Sarles Avenue and Lexington Avenue and took him into custody. The 20-year-old was charged with second-degree robbery, a felony. After arraignment in Mount Kisco Justice Court, he was remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail. Patrol officers and detectives continue to investigate to identify the second man involved in the incident.

6 p.m. — Police received a report of a man passed out in the North Moger Avenue parking lot. He was found to be intoxicated and EMS was requested. 

6:56 p.m. — An officer on patrol in the 500 block of Lexington Avenue observed a man drinking a can of beer. He was issued a summons for public consumption of an alcoholic beverage, a violation, returnable to village court on March 26.

7:09 p.m. — An officer responded to Target on North Bedford Road on a report of a person engaged in return fraud. Store security reported that the man entered the store earlier, filled his cart with multiple cases of soda and then attempted to get a refund for $111 by producing receipts for similar items purchased at Target stores in Port Chester and the Bronx. The man was booked at the Green Street precinct and charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. He was released pending a March 26 appearance in village court.

8:27 p.m. — Police received a report of a disorderly patron at a Main Street bar. Management reported that the woman has caused multiple disturbances recently and has been asked to leave each time. Management wanted to document the issue because they intend to press charges if she returns and causes problems again.
