POUND RIDGE

Tuesday, June 16

11:28 a.m. — A driver traveling on Salem Road was issued a ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign. 

1:29 p.m. — Property damage but no injuries were reported after a two-car crash on Route 124. Neither car required a tow.  

3:18 p.m. — Police responded to a complaint of a landscaper using a gas-powered leaf blower on Pheasant Road. No landscapers were present on their arrival.  

8:47 p.m. — A driver traveling on Westchester Avenue was given a speeding ticket for going 50 mph in a marked 30-mph zone. 

Wednesday, June 17

9:50 a.m. — A driver traveling on Westchester Avenue was given a speeding ticket for going 57 mph in a marked 30-mph zone. 

10:42 a.m. — A woman was taken by ambulance from her Hack Green Road home to Northern Westchester Hospital for an unknown condition.  

12:21 p.m. — A note was left for a Barnegat Road resident after a caller complained gas leaf blowers were being used on their property.  

3:23 p.m. — A landscaper working on Trinity Pass Road was advised of local ordinances prohibiting gas-powered equipment. 

5:45 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was given a ticket for using their phone while operating a motor vehicle. 

Thursday, June 18

9:55 a.m. — Two different drivers traveling on Westchester Avenue were ticketed for using phones while driving. 

10:22 a.m. — A caller on Lower Shad Road reported a person driving an Audi who came to their door. Police spoke with the person who said they went to the wrong residence to repair an appliance. 

10:25 a.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was ticketed for lack of an  inspection sticker.  

1:25 p.m. — A rabid raccoon reported on Pheasant Road was not located. 

3:25 p.m. — Trees were reported on wires by a caller on Upper Shad Road. The utility was notified. 

5:25 p.m. — An Old Stone Hill Road reported they were the victim of identity theft after an AT&T account was fraudulently opened in their name. 

Friday, June 19

1:30 a.m. — A man was taken to White Plains Hospital from his home by Westchester EMS for an unknown condition.  

11:03 a.m. — Youths in a car with Connecticut plates were reported trespassing on pond property on Eastwoods Road. Police say they were gone prior to their arrival.  

1:00 p.m. — A man was transported from his home on Stone Hill Road to Stamford Hospital by Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Westchester EMS.  

2:50 p.m. — A caller on Bob Hill Road reported a snake in the house. Police said the snake wasn’t visible but hadn’t left the residence. The homeowner was provided with four phone contacts for professional trappers.  

4:59 p.m. — A caller on Old Pound Road reported a hummingbird in the house. An officer successfully caught and released the bird into the wild.  

10:19 p.m. — A loud bang was reported by a caller on Miller Road. Police searched the area but did not find anything.

Saturday, June 20

10:00 a.m. — A pool heater that caught fire at a Sarles Street residence was extinguished when firefighters arrived and turned off the gas. 

11:15 a.m. —A deer injured after it was struck by a car was humanely dispatched by police. The Wolf Conservation Center was contacted to collect it. 

8:09 p.m. — A speeder on Pound Ridge Road was given a ticket for doing 55 mph in a 30-mph zone. 

Sunday, June 21

12:20 p.m — Two summonses were issued to a driver on Westchester Avenue for no inspection sticker and an unregistered vehicle.  

1:55 p.m. — A Parkview Road man requested a lift assist.  

2:52 p.m. — A woman was taken by ambulance to Stamford Hospital. No further information was provided.

3:45 p.m. — A man came to headquarters seeking medical assistance. He was taken to Stamford Hospital. 

7:00 p.m. — A woman was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital. No further information was provided.

Monday, June 22 

9:00 a.m. — An injured opossum reported on Barnegat Road was  humanely dispatched. 

10:45 p.m. — A caller on Lower Shad Road reported a parked suspicious vehicle and the sound of screaming. Police did not find anything.


BEDFORD

Monday, June 15

10:33 p.m. — Police went to Katonah Memorial Park after a caller reported a car parked after closing hours. On arrival they saw an unoccupied vehicle. A second car pulled up and a passenger exited; they said they’d left their car at the park and were retrieving it. 

5:59 p.m. — A caller reported a man roaming the vicinity of Peppino’s Ristorante in Katonah whose speech was slurred. The caller thought he might need assistance. Police located the man who appeared intoxicated; he said he was  working on a job site nearby. One of his co-workers told the officer he would drive the man home. Police left but returned after a second report. They spoke to the man’s foreman who said work was done for the day and the co-worker would drive the intoxicated man back to the hotel in Danbury, Conn., where they were staying.  

1:08 p.m. — Police went to a residence in Bedford Hills after a health care professional contacted them to check on the welfare of a client who made concerning comments. The mobile crisis team was contacted and a woman, 20, was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation.

10:40 a.m. — A sick raccoon reported in a driveway was killed. The resident said they would dispose of the carcass.  

Tuesday, June 16

7:44 a.m. — Three cars were involved in a collision in the vicinity of the Fox Lane High School  campus. Police said a driver from Mount Kisco made an illegal left hand turn out of the campus driveway causing her to strike another car, which drove off the roadway where it struck an unoccupied vehicle parked on the shoulder. The driver who made the illegal turn was issued a ticket. She was taken to Westchester Medical Center by Bedford firefighters. Her car was towed. The operator of the second vehicle, a man from Yorktown Heights, complained of arm pain but declined medical attention. His car was also towed as was the unoccupied vehicle. 

1:57 p.m. — The driver of a commercial vehicle was given a summons for no fire extinguisher after police conducted a traffic stop at Greenwich Road and Baylis Lane, Bedford. 

9:40 p.m. — An operator was pulled over at Babbitt Road and Harris Road, Bedford Hills, for disobeying a traffic control device.  

Wednesday, June 17

5:50 a.m. — Police assisted a Bedford Hills man at his home after he accidentally got his oxygen cord tangled around his walker.  

8:56 a.m. — A woman who locked her keys inside her vehicle on Adams Street was assisted by police who used the vehicle lockout device to enter the car without damaging it.  

Thursday, June 18

1:20 p.m. — Police responded to a fire call on Franklin Avenue, Bedford Hills. The fire was extinguished by the resident prior to their arrival. The resident said their motor home battery terminal wires caught fire. No injuries were reported.   

10:41 pm. — An elderly man unable to walk was taken by ambulance from his Bedford Hills home to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation. 

Friday, June 19 

12:02 p.m — Police went to an abandoned property in Bedford Hills after multiple people in a car with Florida plates were reported as suspicious on the premises. Police spoke with these individuals who presented Connecticut driver’s licenses. They said they were in the area to pick up a friend from work and were looking at the property because they were interested in purchasing it. They left shortly after. 

3:48 p.m. — A domestic altercation was reported on Rome Avenue, Bedford Hills. Police spoke with a man they are familiar with who said he was collecting more of his belongings when his estranged wife became aggressive. Police are familiar with  her as well. A New York state domestic incident report was completed and the pair pledged to avoid future contact.   

7:03 p.m. — A caller at Cross River and Mount Holly Road, Katonah, said an unknown man traveling on foot was peering at his truck’s registration on the windshield. He asked the man what he was doing and the man left. Police searched but could not find him.

Saturday, June 20 

2:40 p.m. — A caller on Bedford Road, Katonah, reported a raccoon trapped in her chicken coop. She said she frightened the animal off prior to their arrival.  

5:52 p.m. — A crow reported injured on the playground at the Hawthorn School on Old Post Road, Bedford, flew off into the woods before police arrived. 

Sunday, June 21 

3:51 a.m. — A dog reported incessantly barking on Bedford Road, Bedford Hills, either had stopped barking or returned inside the house prior to police arrival. 


LEWISBORO

Monday, June 15

11:30 a.m. — A driver traveling eastbound on Conant Valley Road reported that a tree fell on their vehicle. Police said it had major damage. Pound Ridge Police were on scene. The Lewisboro Highway Department arrived to remove the tree. No injuries were reported. 

12:30 p.m. — A town park employee reported a broken window in a men’s restroom near the pool area. An employee working close by thought they’d heard a gunshot. Police examined the window and thought a bird broke it. 

4:45 p.m. — A man came to headquarters to turn in a drawer full of ammunition belonging to his son. The property was taken and slated for destruction. 

6:35 p.m. — A caller in Goldens Bridge reported two garbage cans valued at $120 stolen from in front of their garage. After investigation and checking neighbors’ surveillance video it was determined the carting company had picked them up by accident. 

Tuesday, June 16

10:35 a.m. — Illegal dumping was reported on Spring Street, South Salem. The caller said he found dumped contractor bags near Route 124. The police said it was ordinary household refuse. The state Department of Transportation was notified to pick it up. 

Wednesday, June 17

7:16 p.m. — Firefighters went to a home on North Salem Road after burnt food activated a smoke alarm. 

Thursday, June 18

1:30 p.m. — Gunshots were reported in the vicinity of Spring Street, South Salem. Police searched the area without results. 

4:40 p.m. — A man who could only produce a foreign identity card but no driver’s license had his car impounded after police saw his Honda traveling on Route 22 with a cracked windshield and no front license plate. The operator received multiple summonses. 

9:54 p.m. — Police went to a restaurant in Cross River after a man was reported lurking in the bushes, yelling. Workers in the area said they noticed nothing. 

Friday, June 19

5:30 p.m. — A Waccabuc caller reported a man wearing an orange shirt on a motorcycle stopping and requesting identification from drivers turning onto Rock Shelter Road. The man was gone before police arrived. 

Saturday, June 20

1:04 p.m. — An assault was reported at a home in Waccabuc. No further information was provided as the incident is being investigated. 

Sunday, June 21

9:25 p.m. — Police went to a residence in South Salem after a caller reported the sound of crying. The caller declined to be interviewed by the police. Police searched the area but heard no crying sounds or anything suspicious.
