BEDFORD

DWI charge after domestic incident 

On Thursday, July 30, at 5:15 p.m., a Bedford man, 48, was arrested after police went to his residence for a report of a domestic altercation involving him and his son. The son reported his father was both intoxicated and possibly suicidal, and left the house in his car. Police located his vehicle turning onto Greenwich Road at which time a traffic stop was conducted. The man appeared intoxicated and was asked to perform field sobriety tests. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and brought to headquarters for processing. An inventory of his vehicle revealed open bottles of alcohol. He was issued two summonses before being taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital for a psychological evaluation. He is to appear in court Aug. 12.


Monday, July 27

7:22 p.m.— A caller reported a male in the vicinity of Babbitt Road, Bedford Hills, behaving in a suspicious manner. Police located the described person at the Bedford Hills train station where he appeared to be behaving normally. He said he was waiting for the next train.  

11:14 p.m. — A dog reported loose on Guard Hill Road was gone prior to police arrival. 


Tuesday, July 28

1:49 p.m. — A car crash reported on Pines Bridge Road, Bedford Hills, brought police to the scene; they saw a car in a ditch. The driver had minor lacerations to their arm but declined medical attention. The car was hauled out of the ditch by a tow truck. 

8:58 p.m. — A woman, 77, from Bedford Hills, experiencing elevated blood pressure was transported by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital.


Wednesday, July 29

1:09 a.m. — A transformer fire reported in the vicinity of South Bedford Road and Chestnut Ridge Road, Bedford Hills, was referred to a utility.  

5:19 a.m. — Police went to a residence on Old Wagon Road, Bedford Hills, for a welfare check. No one was home but entry was made to the residence through an unlocked door. The resident was not home and was not able to be contacted. 

2:31 p.m. — A manager at the CVS pharmacy in Bedford Hills reported someone stole items from the store on Tuesday, July 28. Although they had video of the incident, the store manager wasn’t sure they wanted to pursue charges. A report was made for documentation.


Thursday, July 30

9:24 a.m. — Two summonses were issued to the operator of a commercial vehicle traveling on Harris Road, Katonah, for equipment violations and safety standards.  

12:35 p.m. — A business owner on Bedford Road, Bedford Hills, reported fraudulent transactions conducted at her place of business over a span of five days. She told police two men using three different credit cards made six fraudulent transactions involving gift cards. Police are investigating.  

7:40 p.m. — A Katonah woman came to headquarters to report she was handing off their child to her ex-husband during a custody drop off when he made comments that made her uncomfortable and upset their child. A New York state domestic incident report was completed.


Friday, July 31

11:04 a.m. — A Bedford Hills resident came to headquarters to report she received a letter in the mail alerting her that her personal information had been released to the dark web. At this time she is not out any money and a report was made for documentation.   

3:39 p.m. — A business owner on Adams Street, Bedford Hills, reported a man stole copper from a work vehicle parked on the business premises. Police say she has video of the incident showing him pulling into the parking lot and approaching an unlocked vehicle, removing something and then leaving. A report was made for documentation. 


Saturday, Aug. 1 

11:24 a.m. — An injured fox reported in the vicinity of Garland Road and Almar Road, Katonah, was not found. 

1:44 p.m. — Two cars collided in the vicinity of Old Post Road, Bedford. Four people were taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital with minor injuries. One car was traveling south when another car coming in the opposite direction hit the guardrail and then crossed over the double yellow line, police said. One driver was issued a summons. Aided were a Goldens Bridge man, 45, who complained of arm pain, and a woman, 18, from Ridgefield, Conn., said her whole body hurt. Two passengers, a woman, 39, from Goldens Bridge, and a 2 ½ -year-old girl, also from Goldens Bridge, were transported for minor injuries.  


Sunday, Aug. 2 

10:43 a.m. — Police and Bedford Hills firefighters went to an address on Succabone Road for a brush fire. The residents used a hose to extinguish the fire prior to police or firefighters arrival.  

8:48 p.m. — A Bedford Hills woman, 63, was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital after being evaluated by the Westchester County Mobile Crisis Response Team for emotional disturbance. Police located her at her residence pacing the floor and saying she needed help with her anxiety. 


MOUNT KISCO

Sunday, July 26

6:39 a.m. — An officer on patrol observed some damage and possible vandalism to the exterior of a South Moger Avenue business. The business was not open yet; an officer from the day tour would follow up.

9:04 p.m. — Officers responded to the Mount Kisco train station after a caller reported that two relatives had been threatened with harm by another person on the station platform. Officers detained a man for investigation and notified the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Department, which has primary jurisdiction on railroad property. MTA police responded, interviewed all parties involved in the incident and took the man who was detained by Westchester County Police into custody.

11:51 p.m. — An officer was dispatched to the Green Street precinct to meet a woman at the callbox. She reported that she had arrived home a short time earlier to find an ex-boyfriend waiting outside for her. They argued and she left to come to the precinct. She requested that a report be prepared to document the incident. A New York state domestic incident report was prepared and lethality screening conducted.


Monday, July 27

4 a.m. — Officers responded to a North Bedford Road gas station and convenience store on a report of an unwanted person refusing to leave the premises. The man left the business when police were called and was gone upon officers’ arrival.

10:40 a.m. — Officers responded to the area of Target and Stop & Shop on North Bedford Road on a report of an intoxicated man asleep in the bushes. EMS was requested to respond to evaluate the man.

8:04 p.m. — An officer responded to East Main Street on a report of youths impeding traffic near Ben & Jerry’s. The youths were observed on the sidewalk and in the company of adults. No police action was needed.


Tuesday, July 28

12:05 a.m. — An officer responded to the 200 block of Main Street to assist a man who was feeling ill and vomiting. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Westchester EMS also responded. The man was evaluated and taken to the hospital for continued care.

7:06 p.m. — An officer was dispatched to the Green Street precinct to meet a woman at the callbox who was requesting a welfare check. The woman said that she had dropped her adult son off at a store in the village but was unable to find him or get him to answer her calls. The man answered when an officer called and said he had decided to take the train into the city and was not in need of any assistance.


Wednesday, July 29

9:48 a.m. — Officers responded to a gas station’s convenience store on East Main Street on a report of a customer causing a disturbance. The customer left when police were called and was gone upon officers’ arrival. The man was located a short time later and issued a trespass warning at the request of management that bars him from the premises.

1:30 p.m. — A motor vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of Radio Circle and Lexington Avenue. One person suffered minor injuries but declined medical attention. One vehicle was towed from the scene and a report was prepared.

5:29 p.m. — An officer responded to Sutton Drive to assist a woman who fell in her home. The officer helped her to her feet and into a chair. She declined medical attention.

7:06 p.m. — A Stewart Place resident reported an odor of gas in her apartment. She was advised by dispatchers to leave the apartment while police and fire personnel responded. The Mount Kisco Fire Department determined there was no gas condition. 


POUND RIDGE

Tuesday, July 28

11 a.m. — Two dogs reported wandering on Hack Green Road were already returned to their enclosure before police arrived. 

12:45 p.m. — A Laurel Road resident was transported to Stamford Hospital by Westchester EMS and the Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

1:48 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was issued a ticket for going 55 mph in a 30-mph zone. 

5:33 p.m. — An officer went to check Hack Green Road to see if the dogs reported earlier were properly enclosed. No dogs were found in the road.


Wednesday, July 29

11:49 a.m. — A speeder on Westchester Avenue was issued a ticket for going  57 mph in a 30-mph zone. 

1:20 p.m. — A dog reported found on Trinity Pass Road was brought to headquarters where its owner was contacted and came to collect it. 

3:15 p.m. — A dog reported wandering on Patterson Road had been returned to its owner prior to police arrival.  


Thursday, July 30

1:26 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was issued a speeding ticket for going 55 mph in a 30-mph zone. 

7:15 p.m. — A driver who parked in a handicapped space on Westchester Avenue was given a ticket for no permit.  

9:15 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was issued a ticket for going 55 mph in a 30-mph zone.  


Friday, July 31

12:00 p.m. — A disabled vehicle reported on Long Ridge Road was already in the hands of a mechanic when police arrived on scene.  

7:35 p.m. — A caller on Dann Farm Road  reported a blue pickup speeding. Police looked for the car but couldn’t find it. 

7:30 p.m. — A man was taken by ambulance from his residence on Westchester Avenue to Northern Westchester Hospital. No further information was provided.


Saturday, Aug. 1

9:25 a.m. — A Pound Ridge Road man was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital. No further information was provided.

12:48 p.m. — A parking issue reported on Horseshoe Hill Road was gone on police arrival.  

8:25 p.m. — No traffic violations were observed during an enforcement detail on Westchester Avenue.  

10:12 p.m. —A loose dog reported wandering on Westchester Avenue was unable to be located by an officer who looked for it.  


Sunday, Aug. 2

10:30 a.m. — A woman was taken by ambulance from her home on West Lane to Northern Westchester Hospital. No further information was provided.


Monday, Aug. 3

10 a.m. — Low hanging wires were reported on Westchester Avenue. Police on arrival observed they were hanging low but not enough to impede traffic.  Wires were also reported down on Barnegat Road, High Ridge Road, Miller Road and Autumn Ridge Road. Cones were put out as some of those roads were blocked. Utilities were notified. 

6 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Ave was issued a speeding ticket for going  51 mph in a 30-mph zone. Police said the driver also failed to provide a valid registration.  

8:15 p.m. — A Fancher Road man was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital. No further information was provided.


Tuesday, Aug. 4 

2:40 p.m. — A caller on Bayberry Way reported a deer stuck in their pond. The animal extricated itself on police arrival and calmly walked out, into the woods. 


LEWISBORO

Monday, July 27

11:45 a.m. — Police went to a home on Autumn Ridge Road, South Salem, after the resident reported a man entering her home holding a leash who said he was there to walk a dog. His vehicle was in her driveway with a window rolled down; she could see a dog inside. She said he had the wrong address and he left. An officer looked for the vehicle but didn’t find it. 

5:52 p.m. — A South Salem resident called the police to say a bird was inside their home. An officer was directed to a sun room where they saw the bird and assisted it safely outside.


Tuesday, July 28

7:25 p.m. — A woman, 90, who fell in her Goldens Bridge home while using her walker was taken by the Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation. Her daughter was with her. 

9:15 p.m. — Westchester County, local medical responders and Lewisboro Police went to a home in South Salem to evaluate a woman who fell off a horse earlier that day. She was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital for further evaluation. 


Wednesday, July 29

2:58 p.m. — A South Salem resident came to headquarters to report their lost or missing license plate. They were provided with the proper paperwork and nothing further. 

3:00 p.m. — Police went to West Lane and Smith Ridge Roads, South Salem, for a report of low hanging wires impeding traffic. An officer cleared both roadways sufficiently that cars could pass. Yellow police tape was attached to make the low hanging wires more visible to drivers. The utility was notified. 


Thursday, July 30

12:10 p.m. — A vehicle with darkly tinted windows and no front license plate was stopped and later impounded following a traffic stop in the vicinity of the Orchard Square shopping center in Cross River. The driver did not have a driver’s license and produced a foreign identity card. A records search revealed he has a federal protective order prohibiting him from possessing firearms. His car was impounded and he was issued multiple summonses. 


Friday, July 31

2:16 p.m. — Police and medical personnel went to a home in Cross River after the resident complained of pain following hip surgery. The person was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation. 

8:50 p.m. — Westchester EMS, Goldens Bridge firefighters and Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps personnel were at a home in Goldens Bridge after a man complained of chest pain. He was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation. 


Saturday, Aug. 1

10:24 a.m. — A car with a broken windshield was pulled over on Route 123 in South Salem; the operator had no license and produced a foreign identity card. The car was towed and impounded. 

12:12 p.m. — A child who broke their forearm at a playground in South Salem was taken by ambulance to Norwalk Hospital. 

4:30 p.m. — Police patrolled the areas of Routes 35 and 121 searching for a 2014 Dodge Ram with Connecticut plates believed to have been involved in a domestic incident and possible abduction from the town of Wilton, Conn., earlier that day. A license plate reader picked up the vehicle traveling in this area but police couldn’t find it. 


Sunday, Aug. 2

12:45 p.m. — A Goldens Bridge woman told police she’d been lying on her floor for over an hour, unable to get up. She was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital.

3:10 p.m. — Vista firefighters took a man to Danbury Hospital after he told police he’d recently been released from a three-day mental health hold after his wife died and was depressed and drinking. He said he was on medication and it was discovered during his hold he has a heart condition. A police officer accompanied him in a police vehicle to the hospital so he wasn’t alone.
