BEDFORD
Monday, July 20
10:24 a.m. — Police are investigating two reports of burglary at the Bedford Hills Memorial Park. They said the first incident involved an unknown party entering the snack bar area of the pool and stealing money. A second report on Thursday, July 23, at 8:14 a.m., when it was noticed money was also removed from another location at the park where there is a shed. Police said in both incidents there were signs of forced entry.
4:48 p.m. — A resident of Bedford Hills, 74, refused medical attention, after first requesting it. She had lost her balance at home and fallen out of a chair.
Tuesday, July 21
11:33 a.m. — A dog found on Bedford Center Road near Buxton Road wearing a green collar but no tags was taken by the dog control officer to be scanned for a chip. The dog’s owner, on Succabone Road, was contacted and the dog returned.
1:22 p.m. — An erratic driver on Woods Bridge Road in Katonah was gone before police arrived.
5:27 p.m. — Police assisted Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps members loading a resident, 71, from Bedford Hills, into an ambulance to be taken to Northern Westchester Hospital. No further information was provided.
Wednesday, July 22
9:43 a.m. — A resident of Katonah came to headquarters to report jewelry lost or missing. She said no one had been inside the home besides her husband and their nanny. Police are investigating.
7:05 p.m. — Police assisted a woman on Lyons Ridge Road, Katonah, after her puppy had got its jaws stuck in the bars of its crate and couldn’t get free. An officer pried the bars open and the dog seemed OK. She was given the number of the 24-hour vet clinic but said she would take the dog to her regular veterinarian in the morning.
11:29 p.m. — A summons was issued to a driver on Old Post Road near Greenwich Road for inadequate license plate lights.
Thursday, July 23
9:02 a.m. — A possibly sick raccoon was reported in Katonah in the vicinity of Anderson Road and Greenville Road. Police couldn’t find it.
4:25 p.m. — A loose dog reported on Bedford Road and Orchard Lane, Katonah, was returned to its owner without incident.
Friday, July 24
3:38 a.m. — Police went to a residence in Bedford Hills for a domestic situation between a man and wife. They spoke first with the husband who said the argument began over a suspected infidelity; she denied it having happened and in the course of the argument they both briefly left the residence. He returned first and locked her out. With police assistance, he returned her key and they told police they would stay in separate rooms for the remainder of the evening.
7:30 p.m. — A caller on Thornbrook Lane, Bedford, reported two dogs loudly barking. On arrival police saw a pair of Dobermans outside. Police talked with the dog sitter, who brought the dogs inside.
Saturday, July 25
10:29 a.m. — A caller on Katonah Avenue reported a dog possibly in distress inside a vehicle. Police saw the window was open and the dog was fine.
5:27 p.m. — Police assisted a man on Lakeside Drive, Katonah, who was accidentally locked in a bathroom. His wife removed the doorknob in an unsuccessful attempt to open the door; the officer used a flathead screwdriver to remove the door from the hinge. No injuries were reported.
Sunday, July 26
11:49 a.m. — A loose dog reported in The Farms, Bedford, by the “turtle pond” was already back in the hands of its owner prior to police arrival.
12:47 p.m. — A sick or injured coyote reported by the Route 117 Bypass Road was gone on police arrival.
6:53 p.m. — A caller on Cross River Road, Katonah, reported a deceased eagle. Police searched for the bird but couldn’t find it.
9:17 p.m. — An e-bike cyclist, 28, from Bedford, was taken to Westchester Medical Center by Bedford firefighters. He complained of back and neck pain after being struck by a car while making a turn on Route 22 in Bedford. Police found him on the ground near the Bedford Cross, at Cantitoe Street. The driver of the car, a resident of Patterson, 70, said he made the turn without signalling. No damage was done to the vehicle and the cyclist’s e-bike was returned to his residence in Bedford as a courtesy.
MOUNT KISCO
Monday, July 20
1:23 a.m. — Officers responded to North Moger Avenue after a resident reported banging and screaming coming from a downstairs apartment. All was quiet upon the arrival of officers, who spoke with the downstairs neighbors.
11:45 a.m. — A Foxwood Circle woman came to the Green Street precinct to report that she is being harassed by a neighbor. The investigation is continuing.
2:36 p.m. — A welfare check was requested for a Spring Street woman, but she was not home. An officer located her at Northern Westchester Hospital, where she was being treated in the emergency room.
4:02 p.m. — An officer was dispatched to the Green Street precinct to take a fraud report. A woman reported that she was scammed out of $1,505 by someone who sent a text message pretending to be her son. The investigation is continuing.
Tuesday, July 21
2:26 a.m. — Officers responded to a South Bedford Road office building on an activated burglar alarm. The lobby doors were found to be unlocked and a search of the building was conducted; all was secure. The property manager was advised that officers could not lock the doors and someone needed to respond to do so.
3:37 a.m. — A welfare check was conducted at a Woodland Street residence after a woman called to report that someone was in her home. A woman in the background told a dispatcher that she was a home health aide and that she was the other person in the residence. An officer responded and verified that the second party was the caller’s home health aide.
11:30 a.m. — An officer observed a flooding condition in the parking lot outside the Mount Kisco Justice Court. The Department of Public Works was advised, responded and corrected the condition.
1:08 p.m. — An officer arrived at the Green Street precinct to take a fraud report. A woman reported that she had received a call claiming that her Apple account had been hacked. She arranged for a wire transfer of almost $8,200 to another person. She said her bank is attempting to reverse the wire transfer. A report to document the fraud was requested. An investigation is continuing.
2:10 p.m. — Officers responded to a business in the 100 block of North Bedford Road on a report of an unwanted person causing a disturbance. The man was advised to leave the store and complied.
4:02 p.m. — A man, 74, was injured in a fall at a store on North Bedford Road. A responding officer requested EMS and the Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the man to the hospital.
8:36 p.m. — An officer on patrol in the Village Center parking lot observed a man drinking a beer and throwing the can away when he spotted the officer. The man, 55, was issued a summons for public consumption of an alcoholic beverage and littering, both violations. He is due in village court Aug. 26.
Wednesday, July 22
9:46 a.m. — An officer responded to a Carpenter Avenue residence to assist a woman in her 90s who fell. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps also responded and took her to the hospital.
1:37 p.m. — A woman came to the Green Street precinct to report a domestic dispute that occurred at her Diplomat Drive residence a short time before. She said she left her home because her husband became enraged and started destroying property in the residence. Upon arrival, responding officers observed a variety of damage. They took a 58-year-old man into custody. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps was requested and responded but the man declined medical attention for a hand laceration. The Mobile Crisis Response Team was also requested. The man was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, a felony. He was arraigned in Mount Kisco Justice Court and remanded to Westchester County Jail.
9:25 p.m. — Two men were arrested following a traffic stop on Barker Street and Carpenter Avenue. The driver of the vehicle, a 59-year-old White Plains man, was charged with driving while intoxicated and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanors. His passenger, a 27-year-old Mount Kisco resident, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. The drug charges stem from a quantity of oxycodone and cocaine found in the vehicle upon impoundment.
Thursday, July 23
12:08 a.m. — Officers responded to Bet Torah synagogue on Smith Avenue on an activated burglar alarm. Construction workers were found on the premises doing overnight work. The alarm company was advised.
10:34 a.m. — An officer responded to Carpenter Avenue to assist an 84-year-old man who suffered lacerations in a fall at home. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to provide care and transport to the hospital.
8:44 p.m. — A 58-year-old village resident was arrested at a Radio Circle business and charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor. The man is accused of calling and texting a person he is barred from contact by court order. A New York state domestic incident report was prepared and lethality screening was conducted.
LEWISBORO
Monday, July 20
10 a.m. — A dog found in a backyard in South Salem where it didn’t belong was returned to its owner on Howe Street by a police officer.
7:00 p.m. — A woman who was kicked by a horse at a farm on Pound Ridge Road was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by the Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps for injured ribs.
Tuesday, July 21
2:10 p.m. — A woman came to headquarters to report that a buyer, to whom she’d sold a bracelet in “great condition” through her Etsy site on July 13, contacted her a few days later. The buyer claimed the clasp was broken and wanted a refund. It is this seller’s stated policy not to accept returns. The buyer threatened to sully her reputation on the site; she blocked him and notified Etsy of the threat and harassment. Police felt she had no reason for concern and said she should contact them again if the harassment continued.
3:11 p.m. — Police went to a home in South Salem for an activated burglar alarm. The resident answered the door and said the alarm was set off in error.
Wednesday, July 22
9:24 a.m. — A woman who told police she fell at her South Salem home three days earlier fell again. During at least one of the falls, she hit her head. She was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital.
5:50 p.m. — A caller in Goldens Bridge complained no one is stopping for the four-way stop sign at Pond Street and Hall Avenue. The reporting party said all kinds of vehicles are disobeying the sign including UPS, FedEx and landscapers. An officer patrolled the area for the next two hours and mostly observed drivers behaving in a cautious manner; three drivers were warned to come to a full stop in the future or receive a summons.
Thursday, July 23
4:46 p.m. — Police went to an address on Quincy Court, Goldens Bridge, after a resident complained her neighbor walked on her newly sealed driveway, an incident she recorded on a Ring camera. The driveway was marked off with yellow tape. Police spoke with the neighbor and advised him to stay off his neighbor’s driveway. Police said the two have an ongoing unfriendly relationship.
Friday, July 24
11:20 a.m. — Police went to a residence in South Salem after a husband told police he’s been working up the courage to report that his wife has been mentally abusing him. He acknowledged having a drinking problem and said he was in treatment. Police did not speak to the wife who was in a different part of the home. No crime was observed. A New York state domestic incident report was completed and the man was given victim’s rights paperwork to complete.
2:02 p.m. — Police went to a residence in Cross River after a man reported his wife was interrupting his work by slamming doors and acting angry. Police said there was no crime. A New York state domestic incident report was completed.
8:05 p.m. — A blue Honda with a broken windshield and a partially functional brake light was pulled over on East Street, South Salem. The operator had no driver’s license and for identification purposes showed a Brazilian passport. The vehicle was impounded and towed and the driver issued summonses.
Saturday, July 25
7:45 p.m. — A sandwich smoking on the stove brought police and Vista firefighters to a home in South Salem. On arrival the resident was outside with her dog. Police removed the sandwich from the fire. No one was injured.
Sunday, July 26
1:45 p.m. — Police returned to Quincy Court, Goldens Bridge, for arguing neighbors; this time the woman reported name-calling, trespass and harassment. She showed the officer video of exchanged unpleasantries. Police advised both parties to avoid each other.
7:10 p.m. — The driver of a Toyota with dark tinted windows was pulled over in the vicinity of routes 35 and 123 in Cross River; the car also had temporary Maryland tags under a dark plate cover. The driver said they had no license and no insurance and this was their work vehicle. A valid USA employment authorization card was shown for identification. Police said the primary problem was the vehicle’s temporary tags which showed multiple red flags regarding their legitimacy. The driver was placed under arrest, charged with forged instrument and the vehicle was towed. After being fingerprinted and issued summonses, the operator was given a courtesy ride to the Goldens Bridge train station.
POUND RIDGE
Wednesday, July 22
7:35 a.m. — A resident of Kinnicut Road was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by the Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps. No further information was provided.
10:25 a.m. — A resident of Trinity Lane was taken by ambulance to Stamford Hospital after what began as a lift assist. No further information was provided.
12:15 p.m. — A turtle reported in the Roadway on Pound Ridge Road had gotten itself safely out of the Roadway prior to police arrival.
5:55 p.m. — A summons was issued to a driver on Highview Road for failure to obey a traffic device.
5:55 p.m. — A summons was given to a driver traveling on Salem Road for failure to obey a traffic device.
6:15 p.m. — A driver on Highview Road was issued two summonses: one for failure to obey a traffic device and the other for being an unlicensed driver.
Thursday, July 23
9:44 a.m. — A dispute between neighbors on South Bedford Road was reported. No further information was provided.
6:40 p.m. — A caller on Lower Trinity Pass Road reported a bear in their yaRoad On arrival police saw it reclining in the yard eating the contents of a bird feeder. The homeowner was advised not to leave food of any sort around the outside of the house and to not replace the bird feeder. Apparently the bear was allowed to finish its meal before moving on.
Friday, July 24
8:15 a.m. — A Jackson Heights man was pulled over on Westchester Avenue and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and speeding, clocked doing 60 mph in a 30-mph zone. He was issued a ticket to appear in court Aug. 10.
2:40 p.m. — Two loose dogs reported in the Roadway on Hack Green Road were observed by police contained in their own yard.
6 p.m. — Police responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle on Salem Road; no operator was on scene. They later learned the truck broke down and the operator was waiting for a tow.
9:06 p.m. — A caller on Eastwoods Road asked for medical assistance but then changed their mind when it arrived.
Saturday, July 25
3:15 a.m. — A noisy large party was reported by a caller on Old Snake Hill Road. Police saw a small gathering and heard no problem.
1:45 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was ticketed for driving 53 mph in a 30-mph zone.
8:32 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was ticketed for driving 59 mph in a 30-mph zone.
10:13 p.m. — A driver traveling on Westchester Avenue was given a ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign.
Sunday, July 26
4:30 p.m. — A resident of Salem Road was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital. No further information was provided.
10 p.m. — A resident of Doe View Lane initially requesting medical assistance changed his mind and declined transport after being evaluated by Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps medics.
