POUND RIDGE

Tuesday, Jan. 6

7:30 a.m. — Drivers on Westchester Avenue received speeding summonses; one was driving 54 mph in the 30 mph zone, and the other 56 mph. 

12:00 p.m. — A driver on Trinity Pass Road was ticketed for failure to obey a traffic device. 

5:00 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was ticketed for failure to stop at a stop sign.  

9:22 p.m. — A man was taken to Stamford Hospital by Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps. No further information was provided.

Wednesday, Jan. 7

5:45 p.m. — A car vs. deer incident on Westchester Avenue resulted in no injuries and no tow.  

5:30 p.m. — A driver on Salem Road was ticketed for failure to stop at a stop sign.  

Thursday, Jan. 8

9:40 a.m. — Police received a parking complaint about two trailers parked on Kitchawan Road. The operators were contacted and the trailers were moved. 11:45 a.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was ticketed for failure to stop at a stop sign.  

2:00 a.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was ticketed for using his mobile phone while operating a motor vehicle. 

Friday, Jan. 9 

6:30 a.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was ticketed for driving 50 mph in a 30-mph zone. 

9:50 a.m. — A driver on Long Ridge Road was ticketed for failure to stop at a stop sign. 

5:50 a.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was ticketed for failure to stop at a stop sign. 

Saturday, Jan. 10

5:00 a.m. — A man was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital. No further information was provided. 

12:10 p.m. — A caller on Threshing Rock Road reported an unknown car pulling into their driveway. It turned out there was no problem and the car belonged to a friend. 

9:04 p.m. — A driver on Salem Road was ticketed for failure to stop at a stop sign.


BEDFORD

‘Mother’s intuition’

On Friday, Jan. 9, at 4:07 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in Katonah after a mother reported her son, in his mid-teens, was outside walking and talking with another young man. Police said she told them it was “mother’s intuition” that they were up to no good and she requested police have a word with him. Her son told police his mom was being dramatic and he was just clearing his head although he declined to say what was bothering him. Police found the other male who said the two were friends. He said they were looking for food and hanging out. As there was no immediate problem, police left the area. 

Monday, Jan. 5 

5:32 p.m. — Police looked for a deer reported injured in the vicinity of Bedford Road and Snyders Hill Road in Bedford Hills without result.  

Tuesday, Jan. 6

11:47 a.m. — A caller on Pines Bridge Road, Bedford Hills, reported an injured deer was on their lawn. On arrival police saw the deer had two broken legs. Police said it was humanely dispatched.  

8:03 p.m. — A woman and her child came to headquarters to report her husband was intoxicated and throwing things at their home. Police went to the residence; they said nothing was broken. It is unknown if they made contact with the man himself. The wife said she would stay with a neighbor for the rest of the evening. A New York state domestic incident report was completed.  

Wednesday, Jan. 7

9:08 a.m. — A caller in Katonah reported a tall man she didn’t know in her backyard. He said he was looking for his son’s snowboard. Police located the man who is a neighbor. He said he was trying to find his son’s equipment and didn’t realize he was on his neighbor’s property.  

10:15 a.m. — A woman who was nipped in the face by a dog on Bedford Road near The Terrace in Katonah came to headquarters to determine if the dog had all its shots. The dog control officer advised the dog’s owner of the 10-day bite quarantine and the Westchester County Department of Health was notified. 

2:21 p.m. — Two cars collided near Cross River Road and Interstate 684 when one car pulled out in front of another. The drivers disagreed how this happened. A man, 35, was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital for pain to his body. His car was towed. The second driver wasn’t injured and their car was not towed. No citations were given.  

Thursday, Jan. 8

4:21 p.m. — The driver of a Toyota Tacoma was given multiple tickets for five suspensions of his license after he was pulled over at Railroad Avenue and Bedford Road. Police said the majority of the Hawthorne man’s infractions were for unpaid parking tickets. 

6:00 p.m. — Police and Bedford Hills firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire on South Church Street, Bedford Hills. On arrival the homeowner said there was no fire but a malfunctioning oil burner that filled the basement with steam. 

Friday Jan. 9

3:13 p.m. — A Bedford woman told police a former employee who she recently terminated came to her house, which frightened her. She said she reported him to New Canaan Police after she let him go but he kept coming around to her business. Police told her to call them again if he returned.  

3:44 p.m. — A male, 14, was transported from the Fox Lane campus to Northern Westchester Hospital by Bedford firefighters after his collarbone was broken. No further information was provided.

Saturday, Jan. 10 

5:41 a.m. — Kids were reported drinking alcohol and causing a disturbance behind McDonald’s in Bedford Hills. They left prior to police arrival. 

5:39 p.m. — A cleaner reported finding her employer, 82, not breathing at her home in Bedford Hills. Police responded. The cleaner said she had not seen her client since she cleaned the week before. Police went to the bedroom and found the woman on the floor; she appeared to have been deceased for several days. A paramedic responded; the woman was known to have a cardiac condition. No foul play was suspected. The medical examiner took custody of the body and the woman’s next of kin, a nephew, was notified.  

Sunday, Jan. 11

9:39 a.m. — A female, 87, experiencing a gastric emergency was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital.  

1:00 p.m. — A male, 62, was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital for gastric issues and severe abdominal pain. 

1:35 p.m. — A Bedford man came to headquarters to report fraud. He said he’d been notified by Verizon of unpaid bills and soon learned an unknown party had opened an account in his name and used it to purchase two phones. A report was made for him to provide Verizon so he would not be charged.  

10:26 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a driver stopped at a stop sign at Pound Ridge Road and Middle Patent Road who stayed stopped and did not proceed in the roadway. They canvassed the area with negative results.


LEWISBORO

Monday, Jan. 5

8:14 a.m. — A dump truck was towed from the vicinity of Beekman Lane, Goldens Bridge, after police found two safety violations on the vehicle including an inoperable emergency brake. The driver was issued paperwork. 

10:52 a.m. — A South Salem resident was taken to Norwalk Hospital by Vista firefighters with a Westchester EMS paramedic on board after being reported breathing but unresponsive in the shower inside their home. 

12:02 p.m. — A postal service individual delivering mail alerted police of a woman, 96, in South Salem, lying in her driveway where she fell. She told the officer she’d come outside to start her car to prevent the battery from dying when she slipped on ice. She was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by the Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Her face was bruised, she lost a tooth and had a bloody nose. 

1:00 p.m. — A South Salem man brought his firearms to headquarters to be vouchered for safekeeping. Police took into safekeeping two Smith  Wesson firearms; a Glock; a Taurus Magnum and a Springfield 1911 pistol. All firearms were taped and placed in the gun safe. 

Tuesday, Jan. 6

6:40 p.m. — A Waccabuc woman, 79, was taken by a private ambulance to an unknown medical facility. A medic was on scene. Police only noted she was ill and nothing further. 

Wednesday, Jan. 7 

4:30 p.m. — A man who told police he was stabbed by his wife in another jurisdiction requested assistance retrieving his kids from their maternal grandmother’s home in Katonah. Yonkers Police were contacted to confirm orders of protection and insure the man was the legal custodian. Police spoke with the grandmother, who they said was initially hostile and made negative comments regarding the father’s ability to care for the children. Police had to convince her to dress them so they wouldn’t be handed to their father wearing only diapers. He needed assistance getting the children secured in their car seats and left. Police contacted Child Protective Services to report their interactions at the Katonah address. 

5:15 p.m. — A South Salem woman reported a black Motorola Android phone left in her mailbox. Police took the phone for safekeeping. 

Thursday, Jan. 8

10:51 a.m. — A man wanted by Carmel Police was taken into custody during a vehicle inspection Lewisboro Police conducted in the vicinity of the Lewisboro Town Park. The operator of a 2017 Isuzu showed police his license which they ran through a records check which revealed the warrant. Carmel police were contacted and came to collect the man. 

8:32 p.m. — A woman who couldn’t stop vomiting was taken from her Waccabuc home to Northern Westchester Hospital by Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Friday, Jan. 9

8:44 a.m. — While police patrolled Route 22 near Beekman Lane, a black pickup truck with plastic covering the license plates was stopped. The motorist had multiple suspensions on their license and no insurance. Multiple tickets were issued and the truck was towed. 

Sunday, Jan. 11

2:30 p.m. — A dehydrated woman unable to walk was taken from her home in South Salem by Lewisboro EMS to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation. 

9:10 p.m. — A Goldens Bridge man who thought he was having a heart attack told police he ingested a gummy six hours earlier. Police said the effects were more than he expected and his wife got worried. No medical concerns were detected by EMS. He was not taken to a hospital.   


MOUNT KISCO

Monday, Jan. 5

10:49 a.m. — Two people were arrested on narcotics charges after they arrived at the Green Street precinct to pick up a car that had been impounded as part of a separate investigation. An officer first determined that the vehicle’s owner, a 34-year-old man, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest on a harassment charge and took him into custody. After additional investigation, a quantity of heroin and $6,000 in cash were found in the possession of the man and a 31-year-old woman who accompanied him to the precinct. They were each charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and held for arraignment in Mount Kisco Justice Court.

7:14 p.m. — An officer responded to Kensico Drive on a report that a parked car was damaged in an apparent hit-and-run incident. The report was prepared.

11:25 p.m. — An officer responded to Spring Street to assist a man who lost consciousness at his residence. He was conscious and alert upon the officer’s arrival. Westchester EMS also responded and took the man to the hospital for evaluation.

Tuesday, Jan. 6

12:30 p.m. — An officer responded to a Kirby Plaza deli on a report of a disorderly patron refusing to leave the premises. The officer escorted the man from the store. EMS was requested due to the man being highly intoxicated. He was taken by the Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Northern Westchester Hospital. At the hospital, the man was issued a written trespass warning at management’s request that bars him from returning to the store.

5:01 p.m. – A person came to the Green Street precinct to report a prior property damage accident. A report was prepared.

9 p.m. – An officer responded to Fairway Drive on a report of a possible crime in the past. The residents said UPS reported delivering three iPhones to their home earlier in the day but the devices were not there when they returned home. It was subsequently determined that the phones may have been accidentally delivered to a different address on Fairway Drive. Customers followed up with UPS. A report was prepared.

Wednesday, Jan. 7

2:20 a.m. — An officer responded to a Carpenter Avenue residence to tend to a man in his 60s suffering a severe headache and requesting assistance. Westchester EMS also responded and took the man to the hospital.

11:28 a.m. — Officers responded to North Bedford Road near Burger King on a report of two men fighting. One man was still at the scene and bleeding from his face. Officers canvassed the area and subsequently located a second man who was observed with blood on his hands. The second man was detained for investigation. Both parties were uncooperative and the injured man declined to press charges. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the injured man to a hospital for evaluation.

3:45 p.m. – A motorist reported that his vehicle was vandalized while parked in the 200 block of Main Street. The vehicle owner said he had argued inside a local deli with a man he knew and then found that his driver’s side mirror had been torn away when he returned to his car. Video that might have captured the incident was requested from a local bank. The investigation is continuing.

5:30 p.m. — An officer served a court-issued temporary order of protection to a Lexington Avenue resident.

Thursday, Jan. 8

8:37 a.m. – A welfare check was requested for a woman sitting in her vehicle for more than an hour near the Fox Senior Center on Carpenter Avenue. The woman told a responding officer that she was fine and that she was using her car for privacy while making a phone call.

1:50 p.m. – A man arrived at the Green Street precinct to report a lost passport. He asked for a report to be prepared to assist with his application for a replacement.
