NYC man accused of harassing ex-wife

On Friday, June 20, Police arrested a New York City man and charged him with criminal contempt and disobeying a court order. The man is well known to police as he repeatedly attempts to harass and contact his former wife, a Bedford resident. Police say this time he was outside her home. He was taken to headquarters and saw a judge who ordered him to pay a $5,000 bail or be remanded to the county courthouse. He did not pay and went to jail. He was scheduled to appear in court June 25.

12:14 a.m. — A teenager from Bedford Hills was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital by Westchester EMS to be treated for intoxication after he was reported on North Street, Bedford Hills, sleeping on a sidewalk. Police say he was too intoxicated to identify himself. An officer rode along with him in the ambulance and hospital staff identified him to police for their report.

2:00 p.m. — The dog control officer reported receiving an email from a Katonah resident regarding an aggressive dog who runs out of a driveway in the area of the Katonah Memorial Park. The dog control officer identified the dog and spoke with the owner who said they would do a better job of keeping the dog on their property.

6:59 p.m. — A road rage incident was reported by a Bedford resident who said someone driving a Mercedes-Benz was following them too closely and honking their horn. The complaining party said they got out of their car and approached the other driver, a young male. Words were exchanged. A report was made to document the incident.

8:33 p.m. — Katonah firefighters released a woman who was stuck in an elevator at “The Mark” residences on Bedford Road. The woman was freed without issue.

11:28 a.m. — A microphone part of a transmitter drone was found on the property of Temple Shaaray Tefila on Baldwin Road, Bedford. Police say there was a wedding on the property a month earlier and it likely belonged to the photographer working at the event but they were unable to contact the photographer. The equipment was placed into found property at headquarters.

3:45 p.m. — A resident of Peekskill, male, 30, was arrested and charged with auto theft. Westchester County corrections officers brought him to Bedford Police headquarters while he was in their custody and jailed for unrelated charges. Bedford Police said that in March the man took a vehicle from a body shop in Bedford Hills at the request of the shop manager; he was supposed to bring it to a location in Cortlandt Manor but instead took it to an unknown location, essentially stealing the vehicle. Using license plate readers and other investigative tools, Bedford Police located the stolen vehicle and put out a warrant for this man’s arrest. He was processed and returned to the custody of the county corrections officers. He was scheduled to appear in court June 25.

1:40 p.m. — Police went to a home on Italy Avenue, Bedford Hills, to check on a teenage boy who had made alarming remarks earlier in the day to his mother. He did not appear to be home despite multiple checks. Police told the mom to stay in contact with them and let them know if she or her son needed further assistance.
