Aid at St. Mary’s

A homeless man who came to St. Mary’s Church on Easter Sunday, at 12:20 p.m., saying he needed to shower, was assisted by church personnel and police at the rectory located on Valley Road, Katonah. Police stood by as the man bathed. Everyone was very kind, police reported. The man said afterwards he was on his way to meet his sister and required no further assistance.

Monday, April 14

4:17 p.m. — A resident at an assisted living residence on Greenville Road, Katonah, came to headquarters to report an assault that took place at the residence where the complainant said the other person accused them of stealing charging wires and punched them in the face. A report was made for documentation.

7:56 p.m. — Police went to the Bedford Hills Memorial Park for a verbal incident that occurred in the vicinity of the basketball court. The reporting party said he was walking around when he was accosted by an older man who said, “Why are you looking at me?” and then told the reporting party “not to look at his family, either.” The older man then left the park in a black car. A report was made for documentation.

The reporting party said she was walking her daughter’s dog near the elementary school on the sidewalk when a dog ran off a property and came running towards her dog. The caller fell down and the other dog’s foster caregiver ran out and helped the woman to her feet. No injury to either dog was reported. At her daughter’s behest, the reporting party came to headquarters to make a report and then went to Urgent Care. Police went to the other dog’s home and spoke with the fosterer who said the dog slipped out. All documents regarding the dog’s vaccination status were relayed to the reporting party and the dog control officer will be following up.
