Pound Ridge Police Report Nov. 13-17

Tuesday, Nov. 12

5:45 p.m. — During a traffic enforcement on Westchester Avenue, four summonses were issued to drivers for speeding; driving to the left of pavement markings; operating a vehicle without an inspection certificate; and operating an unregistered vehicle on a public roadway. 


Wednesday, Nov. 13

5:00 a.m. — Male, age unknown, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Pound Ridge Ambulance Corps. No further information was provided. 

8:05 a.m. — A two-car collision on Long Ridge Road resulted in no injuries. Both cars were towed. 

4:30 p.m. — During a traffic enforcement on Kitchawan Road, no violations were observed. 

6:05 p.m. — During a traffic enforcement on Westchester Avenue, four summonses were issued to drivers for speeding. All the drivers were reported traveling at approximately 50 mph in a 30-mph zone. 


Thursday, Nov. 14

8:10 a.m. — A disabled vehicle was reported in the vicinity of Long Ridge Road and Birch Road. The vehicle was partially blocking the roadway and police assisted with traffic until a tow truck arrived to remove the car. 

9:57 a.m. — Fraud was reported by a resident of Benger Road. The reporting party said someone they didn’t know cashed their disability check. The U.S. Department of  Treasury was notified. Police are investigating. 

12:40 p.m. — Two cars were involved in a collision on Salem Road. No one was injured and one car was towed. 

3:05 p.m. — A woman was taken from her home to Northern Westchester Hospital by Pound Ridge ambulance members and Westchester EMS paramedics. No further information was provided. 

Saturday, Nov. 16

11:32 a.m. — A man was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital. No further information was provided.

5:36 p.m. — A loud party was reported at a home on Dann Farm Road. The reporting party said they had a bonfire going, creating a fire hazard due to drought conditions. Police arrived and saw a fire pit being used in a safe manner. The noise complaint was relayed to the homeowner but police said there was no problem. 

6:13 p.m. — A car collided with a deer on Lower Trinity Pass Road. No injuries were reported and the car did not require a tow. No mention was made of the deer. 

10:48 p.m. — A fire was reported on South Bedford Road. Pound Ridge firefighters arrived on scene and extinguished a brush fire. The cause of the fire is unknown. 


Sunday, Nov. 17

8:30 a.m. — Utility wires were reported down on Salem Road. Police observed low hanging wires and the utility was notified. 

5:35 p.m. — A suspicious vehicle was reported on High Ridge Road. Before police arrived, it left the area. 

10:30 p.m. — Fire was reported on Old Stone Hill Road. The caller said they smelled smoke while out walking. Police arrived and canvassed the area with negative results.

Model train show on display in Bedford Hills through Jan. 28

The Bedford Hills Historical Museum is hosting a “New Model Train Show” on the lower level of the Town of Bedford building located at 321 Bedford Road, Bedford Hills.

The display is open Thursday and Saturday through Jan. 28, from 1 to 3 p.m. 

Visitors can see the HO Gauge model trains run on the track in the village that was built by the late Dr. Robert Bibi of Katonah and donated by his wife, Maria, and reinstalled at the museum. With the guidance of our board member and train aficionado, Rick Carmichael, members of the Olde Newburgh Model Railroad Club installed the HO-gauge set at the museum where it remains on display. 

The museum says the new model train display is great for kids of all ages and adults, and it’s free of charge.
