Pound Ridge Police Report May 28-June 1

Wednesday, May 28

2:00 a.m. — A woman was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps. No further information was provided.

8:45 a.m. — A man was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by PRVAC. No further information was provided.

10:00 a.m. — Police spoke with the driver of a vehicle reported disabled and blocking traffic on Westchester Avenue. The operator said they ran out of gas but help was on the way. Police assisted in moving the vehicle out of the roadway.  

1:10 p.m. — An officer went to an address on East Woods Road for a report of a gas-powered leaf blower in use. No violations were observed. A pamphlet outlining local ordinances was left for the homeowner.  

8:07 p.m. — A woman was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by PRVAC. No further information was provided.

9:00 p.m. — A driver traveling on Westchester Avenue was issued a ticket for speeding at 49 mph in a 30-mph zone.

Thursday, May 29

6:05 — A tree was reported blocking the roadway on Trinity Pass Road. The highway department was notified.  

2:00 — A man was taken to Norwalk Hospital by PRVAC. No further information was provided.

Friday, May 30 

9:00 a.m. — Four drivers on Westchester Avenue were issued summonses for operating a vehicle while using cellphones.  

11:47 a.m. — Criminal mischief was reported by an East Woods Road resident who said their mailbox was damaged. Police checked with neighbors to see if their home security cameras could provide any leads. 

12:20 p.m. — A car was reported blocking the roadway on Stone Hill Road. Police spoke with the operator who said he’d stopped to make a phone call.  

12:30 p.m. —  A caller on Westchester Avenue reported someone was using a gas-powered leaf blower. Police on arrival saw an electric blower in use. There were no violations.  

7:29 p.m. — A caller on Honey Hollow Road reported a man they found suspicious walking on the roadway. Police looked for this person with negative results. 

8:30 p.m. — A driver traveling on Westchester Avenue was issued a ticket for  speeding at 35 mph in a 30-mph zone.  

Saturday May 31

3:50 a.m. — A Pound Ridge resident requested an ambulance but then canceled before it arrived.  

9:20 a.m. —  Wires were reported down on Pine Brook Road as a result of a tree falling. The utility and the highway department were notified.  

1:45 p.m. — A caller on Trinity Pass Road reported wires were hanging as a result of a tree issue. The utility was notified.  

5:30 p.m. — A one-car crash on High Ridge Road resulted in one person being taken to Stamford Hospital by PRVAC. The car was towed.  

8:25 p.m. — A caller reported fireworks on Trinity Pass Road. Police looked for a group of males thought responsible with negative results; no fireworks were heard.  

Sunday, June 1 

10:25 a.m. — A woman was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by PRVAC.  No further information was provided.
