POUND RIDGE
Wednesday, March 25
9:09 a.m. — A caller on White Birch Road reported what they said was a suspicious person wearing a ski mask and carrying a knife. Police on arrival saw a person wearing a folded beanie hat holding a screw driver while doing repair work.
9:33 a.m. — Wires were reported down on Trinity Pass Road. The utility was notified and said they would respond.
9:50 a.m. — A caller reported seeing a disabled vehicle on Long Ridge Road; police responding spoke with the operator who said they had a flat tire and a tow was en route.
12:30 p.m. — Multiple drivers were issued speeding tickets during a traffic enforcement on Westchester Avenue; the four speeders were clocked going 57, 45, 52 and 52 mph in a marked 30-mph zone.
Thursday, March 26
10:10 a.m. — A commercial carrier was cited for being in violation of standard safety rules while traveling on Westchester Avenue. Police issued five summonses to the operator.
11:36 a.m. — A driver traveling on Salem Road was given a ticket for no stop lamps (brake lights).
11:45 a.m. — A man was transported by Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Northern Westchester Hospital for unexplained reasons.
3:25 p.m. — A person was reported overdosed on Westchester Avenue. No further information was provided.
5:21 p.m. — A man was taken by Vista ambulance to Stamford Hospital for unspecified reasons.
9:15 p.m. — A loud boom was reported by a caller on High Ridge Road; police could determine no reason for it.
Friday, March 27
9:21 p.m. — A driver traveling 51 mph in a 30-mph zone was ticketed on Westchester Avenue.
Saturday, March 28
1:00 a.m. — No violations were observed during a traffic detail on Westchester Avenue.
9:15 a.m. — A driver traveling 51 mph in a 30-mph zone was ticketed on Westchester Avenue.
9:19 a.m. — A driver traveling 51 mph in a 30-mph zone was ticketed on Westchester Avenue.
10:15 a.m. — Health and safety hazards were reported on Rolling Meadow Lane after a strong smell of gas was reported. Pound Ridge firefighters responding found the homeowner changing out his propane tank to mitigate a pressure issue.
11:37 a.m. — A driver traveling 53 mph in a 30-mph zone was ticketed on Westchester Avenue.
4:22 p.m. — A one-car crash on Westchester Avenue resulted in no injuries and no tow.
Sunday, March 29
10:00 a.m. — A driver traveling 53 mph in a 30-mph zone was ticketed on Westchester Avenue.
4:55 p.m. — A driver traveling on Salem Road was issued two summonses, one for driving 55 mph in a 30-mph zone and one for failure to stop at a stop sign.
9:30 p.m. — A domestic incident was reported on Kinnicut Road. No further information was provided.
Monday, March 30
6:20 a.m. — A woman, age and condition not reported, was taken to Stamford Hospital via Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
BEDFORD
Driver faces hit-and-run, DWI charges
A Peekskill man, 42, was arrested at 4:54 p.m. March 27 on Haines Road, Bedford Hills, and charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident. Police met with a driver on Haines Road who told police they were traveling on that road in the vicinity of Kasho Drive when an oncoming vehicle sideswiped them and didn’t stop. The reporting party quickly turned their car around and pursued the offending vehicle, police said, which did stop further down Haines Road. At that time the reporting party said the other driver appeared intoxicated. Responding police said the other driver showed signs of impairment. Field sobriety tests were administered. The Peekskill man was transported to headquarters where he was processed. His car was towed. He was issued three summonses. His wife picked him up at headquarters. He is to appear in court April 8.
Monday, March 23
9:48 a.m. — A male, 12, was taken by his mother to Westchester Medical Center after his mother requested police and medical assistance following an episode at their home resulting in an emotional outburst. After speaking with medics, the mother declined further help and said she would drive him to the hospital herself.
11:02 a.m. — Management at Peppino’s restaurant in Katonah complained about a vehicle parked in their private parking space. The vehicle was towed by a local tow company. The Connecticut person connected with the car was told by phone by police where to retrieve the car.
5:04 p.m. — Police assisted Child Protective Services at a residence in Bedford Hills. The Bedford Central School District was involved as were police detectives. It was determined there was no evidence of any crime and the complaint was unfounded.
10:32 p.m. — A resident of Katonah Woods Road contacted police regarding a neighbor who they said was responsible for a temporary power outage and also loud, inexplicable noises. Police said such complaints have been made for some time. A report was made.
Tuesday, March 24
9:50 a.m. — Police responded to Peppino’s again regarding a towed car. The operator went to the tow yard to retrieve their vehicle; they felt the tow charge was “a scam” and removed their car without paying. An employee of the tow company followed them to Peppino’s. An argument ensued. Police were called. Money eventually changed hands between the car’s operator and the tow employee and no further action was needed.
5:42 p.m. — A two-car collision at Bedford Road and Depot Plaza resulted in a Brewster woman, 62, being taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital for chest pain. One driver said the light was green and she didn’t see the other car. The other driver, 22, and also from Brewster, said they were already in the intersection when they were struck by the other vehicle which was making a turn. Both cars were towed. No citations were issued.
9:32 p.m. — A report of an abduction of a child outside McDonald’s on Bedford Road, Bedford Hills, was either unfounded or a “swatting” call, police said after they were given access to the restaurant’s security video and saw no evidence of any struggle or crime. The reporting party was vague when police spoke to them on the phone and refused to return to McDonald’s to be interviewed.
Wednesday, March 25
8:11 a.m. — A Bedford Hills woman, 73, was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital after complaining of difficulty breathing, chest pain and swelling of her legs.
9:52 a.m. — Fraud was reported by a Bedford Hills woman who said checks she dropped in the postal box outside the Bedford Hills post office were altered and cashed. Her bank requested a police report for documentation to restore funds to her account.
Friday March 27
6:46 p.m. — A woman, 18, from Bedford Hills, told police her vehicle slipped on mud in the vicinity of Beaver Dam Road and Jay Street causing her to hit a tree. She complained of arm pain but refused medical attention. Her truck was towed and no citations were issued.
6:57 p.m. — Bedford Hills firefighters went to a residence in Bedford Hills for an activated smoke alarm. There was no fire, they said, just poorly ventilated cooking smoke.
Saturday, March 28
10:22 a.m. — A young child who apparently unlocked a door and left her house alone, scaring her mother, was found walking on the sidewalk in front of DeCicco Family Markets in Katonah. The child lives in the neighborhood. She stayed with the reporting party until police arrived. The mother, who was found looking for her daughter in a panic, said she was in the bathroom when the child left. Police said there was no sign of negligence. The mother was advised to upgrade her child-proofing tools. No further action was needed.
12:36 p.m. — A Bedford woman, 95, was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital after falling in her home.
Sunday, March 29
10:14 a.m. — An email received by the town supervisor and Bedford Police from a Katonah resident regarding lack of crosswalk compliance throughout the downtown area resulted in an alert to patrol to do more traffic details in those locations.
5:02 p.m. — A man alerted police that he saw his ex-wife, 73, appearing unresponsive and in need of help through a Ring video camera installed in her bedroom. On police arrival the woman was only semi-alert and conscious. She said she’d accidentally taken too much of her medication. She was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital for treatment.
LEWISBORO
Monday, March 23
10:00 a.m. — Police responded to an unspecified location in South Salem for a report of a suspicious vehicle. They spoke with a man who said he was homeless and living out of his car which appeared currently inoperable. He said he was attempting to get to New Canaan, Conn. He was offered assistance and declined and said someone was coming soon to remove his car. He left the area soon after.
1:45 p.m. — Police went to a home on Howe Street attempting to serve a summons for an unlicensed dog. They were met at the door by a new homeowner who said the previous resident moved out of the jurisdiction. No further action was taken.
Tuesday, March 24
7:05 a.m. — One person was taken to a hospital in Connecticut after a vehicle left Route 35 westbound because of black ice. Police said the vehicle entered the north shoulder before striking a guard rail, overturning and hitting a tree. The driver was observed bleeding from their face.
11:20 a.m. — A tree company employee was reported falling 20 feet from a tree they were cutting down on Ridgefield Avenue, South Salem. Westchester paramedics were on the scene. The man was taken to Danbury Hospital by the Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps. The man complained of severe pain and said he couldn’t feel his feet.
3:00 p.m. — A small white dachshund was bitten by two pitbulls after it came through a fence at its home on Holly Hill Lane where the pitbull owner was walking their dogs. The pitbulls were not aggressive with the police; their owner said her dogs don’t do well with other dogs. The dachshund suffered two puncture wounds. The dachshund’s owner only requested proof of the other dogs’ rabies vaccinations for future reference.
Wednesday, March 25
3:58 p.m. — An intoxicated man with a serious head injury was evaluated by Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Westchester EMS at an undisclosed location in Cross River. As he was being loaded into an ambulance he said he was supposed to be picking up his daughter at the school bus stop. He tried to contact a neighbor to pick up his child but she declined. His wife was contacted by the police but she was in Germany for work. She told police she had a friend to care for her daughter until her return the next day. Her husband was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital.
5:55 p.m. — A caller said she was walking her dog in the vicinity of Meadow Road and Winterberry Circle when a pitbull mix ran out of its house and attacked her dog. The owner of the pitbull ran outside in her bathrobe, barefoot, to pull her dog off. The injured dog was taken to the Cross River Animal Hospital for treatment.
Thursday, March 26
1:35 p.m. — Police went to a home on Brundige Drive after someone was reported having a fire outside. Police spoke with a resident who was burning sticks in his firepit. He was advised of the statewide burn ban in effect and open burning prohibited in Westchester County. The man said he would extinguish the fire and no further action was needed.
4:15 p.m. — An individual reported as having left Four Winds Hospital without authorization, and thought to be headed for Route 35 returned to the hospital of their own accord.
Friday, March 27
11:51 a.m. — A driver whose license was suspended 21 times driving a car last inspected in 2024 was pulled over on Route 35 after police noticed the heavily tinted windshield. The operator was issued multiple tickets and a mandatory court date March 30.
3:15 p.m. — A man wanted by Ridgefield, Conn., police for 11 counts of forgery and 13 counts of larceny was pulled over in the parking lot of the Vista Market, South Salem, after police observed him on Route 123, doing 60 mph in a 30-mph zone. He was brought to police headquarters and Ridgefield Police was notified. They said they would pick him up. Before they could come and get him he was taken to the county jail.
Saturday, March 28
4:42 p.m. — A golden retriever found wandering in Cross River in the vicinity of Avery Road and Route 35 was reunited with its owner who lives on Old Shop Road. He said the dog slipped through an open gate.
Sunday, March 29
12:17 p.m. — Mental health incidents were reported at a single-family home in Cross River. No further information was provided.
MOUNT KISCO
Friday, March 20
9:15 a.m. — An officer on patrol on Sarles Avenue observed a man with an open can of beer. The 32-year-old man was issued a summons for public consumption of an alcoholic beverage, a violation. The summons was returnable to Mount Kisco Justice Court on April 2.
10:35 a.m. — An officer returned to the Green Street precinct to meet a Carpenter Avenue woman who reported that a large, unleashed husky had approached her daughter as she walked the family dog, frightening them. She also said the dog is frequently allowed to roam without a leash on the grounds where she lives. A blotter entry was made to document her concern. The woman was advised to report the matter to building management.
3:21 p.m. — An officer on patrol observed a man urinating on the side of a building in the 300 block of Lexington Avenue. The man was issued a summons for public urination, a violation. He is due in court on April 23.
4:32 p.m. — Police received a report of a man acting suspiciously in an alley off Sarles Avenue. Responding officers did not encounter any criminal activity but determined the man had five open warrants for his arrest that were issued March 2 by the Mount Kisco Justice Court. The warrants charged him with disorderly conduct and violations of local ordinances. He was taken into custody, booked at the Green Street precinct and held for arraignment before being released on his own recognizance.
7:57 p.m. — Police received a report of a man drinking beer at Target on North Bedford Road and refusing to leave. While investigating the initial complaint, officers determined that the man was wanted on a warrant charging him with failing to appear in Mount Kisco Justice Court on a previous charge. He was taken into custody on that warrant and also charged with trespassing, a violation. He was held for arraignment, where he was ordered to the Westchester County Jail pending an appearance in village court.
Saturday, March 21
4:25 p.m. — Police received a report of a disorderly male in the parking lot at Kirby Plaza. The man, who was intoxicated, was belligerent with an officer and continued to cause a disturbance. The Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the man to the hospital with an officer. At the hospital, the man was issued a summons for disorderly conduct, a violation. He is due in village court on April 23.
5:11 p.m. — An officer conducting an inspection in the Blackeby parking lot encountered a man who screamed obscenities at him and refused a directive to leave the area. The man was determined to be intoxicated and EMS was requested. The Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the man to Northern Westchester Hospital, where the officer issued him a summons for disorderly conduct, a violation. He appeared in village court on March 26.
9:43 p.m. — Officers responded to a Main Street deli on a report of a disorderly patron refusing to leave the store. The man left the premises upon officers’ arrival but was detained so he could be issued a trespass warning as requested by management. The man was advised he would be arrested if he returned to the store.
10:49 p.m. — Officers responded to West Street after a woman called to report seeing two men she did not know in her living room. Officers checked the premises and found no one there. The woman appeared confused and disoriented and EMS was requested for an evaluation. The woman’s daughter was also notified and she came to the home. No further information was provided.
11:15 p.m. — Officers responded to an apartment in the 300 block of Lexington Avenue on a report of an altercation between two roommates. The men said they had been drinking and an argument broke out, causing them to push and shove each other. Neither man wanted to pursue the matter. They agreed to stay in their rooms the rest of the night to end the dispute.
Sunday, March 22
5:47 a.m. — A 911 hang-up call was received from a gas station in the 500 block of East Main Street. As an officer responded, an employee called back to report that a customer in the store was refusing to pay for items he had selected for purchase. Condition corrected.
5 p.m. — Police received a report of a man in his 50s lying on the sidewalk at Carpenter Avenue and Main Street. He was found to be intoxicated and EMS was requested for an evaluation. The man’s adult son arrived on the scene and requested his dad be taken to the hospital. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded and transported him.
Monday, March 23
1:27 p.m. — An officer was dispatched to the Green Street precinct to meet a woman who wanted to report that she found an AirTag under the front seat of her car and determined it belonged to a former friend that she fears is tracking her movements. She asked for a report to be prepared to document her concern but did not wish to pursue the matter further at this time. The AirTag was disabled to prevent its use.
5:57 p.m. — Report of an intoxicated man at the Mount Kisco Public Library. An officer responded with the Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the man was taken to the hospital.
6:26 p.m. — An officer observed a man drinking a can of beer at Sarles Street and Lexington Avenue. A summons was issued for public consumption of alcohol, a violation.
7:25 p.m. — An officer observed a man drinking from a beer can near the entrance to the Mount Kisco Justice Court. It was the same person that was issued a summons for the same violation an hour earlier. The man was issued a second summons. He answered the charges in court on March 24.
8:26 p.m. — Officers responded to Target on North Bedford Road on a report of a larceny suspect who fled the store. Security reported that they had detained a woman who had purchased a comforter but had hidden multiple other items inside it valued at $101. She pushed past security staff and fled in a white van. An officer spotted the van traveling south on North Bedford Road and made a traffic stop at Main Street and North Moger Avenue. The 33-year-old Bronx woman was taken into custody, booked at the Green Street precinct on a petty larceny charge and released. She was due in village court on April 2.
Tuesday, March 24
7:53 a.m. — The driver of a minibus reported that his vehicle was sideswiped by a hit-and-driver in the CVS parking lot on South Bedford Road. An investigation is continuing.
9:09 a.m. — Police received a report of a man refusing to leave the premises at Neighbors Link on Lexington Avenue. The man, who was previously issued a trespass warning, was intoxicated and requested assistance from the Mobile Crisis Response Team. The man was subsequently taken to Westchester Medical Center for evaluation. He was issued a summons for trespassing, a violation.
3:44 p.m. — Officers responded to Main Street on a report of a man yelling at people in front of a restaurant. The condition was corrected.
5:40 p.m. — An officer observed a man drinking beer on Barker Street. A summons for public consumption of alcohol, a violation, was issued.
8:01 p.m. — An officer observed a man drinking beer in the Mount Kisco Justice Court parking area. A summons was issued for public consumption of alcohol, a violation. He was due in village court on April 2.
Wednesday, March 25
1:27 a.m. — A Bronx woman arrived at the Green Street precinct to turn herself in on two warrants charging her with aggravated harassment, a misdemeanor. The woman was booked on the warrants and held for arraignment.
