Pound Ridge Police Report July 23-27

A different kind of horn complaint 

On Sunday, July 27, at 2:30 p.m., police went to a residence on Upper Shad Road after receiving a complaint about multiple people “sounding” a large horn. The resident told police he was with a friend testing and repairing a musical horn and would try to be more quiet. 


Wednesday, July 23

7:05 a.m. — A man, age and condition unknown, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

9:25 a.m. — Police went to West Road for a report of a suspicious vehicle parked illegally. On arrival they saw no hazards and no illegally parked vehicles. 

1:00 p.m. — A driver reported parked on the yellow hashtagged areas on Westchester Avenue was asked to move their car which they did. 

3:00 p.m. — A female, age and condition unknown, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by PRVAC for treatment. 


Thursday, July 24

8:30 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was picked up on radar speeding. Police said the driver was doing 49 in a marked 30-mph zone. 


Friday, July 25

12:01 a.m. — Police spoke with a homeowner on Lockwood Drive who reported their mailbox was struck and damaged. Police located the offending driver and their vehicle and the parties were put in touch with each other to make restitution plans. 

12:08 a.m. — A man, age and condition unknown, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by PRVAC.

3:30 p.m. — Wires were reported down and blocking the roadway on Upper Shad Road. The utility was notified. 

4:54 p.m. — A tree down and blocking the roadway on Westchester Avenue was removed by the Pound Ridge Highway Department. 

10:05 p.m. — A woman, age and condition unknown, was taken to Westchester Medical Center by the PRVAC.

10:15 p.m. — A suspicious incident was reported on Indian Hill Road. No further information was provided.


Saturday, July 26

5:09 p.m. — A resident of Peters Lane said her credit card was used by an unknown party at a Walmart in North Carolina. Police advised she would have to make an additional report with that police department in North Carolina. Her report was documented with information to provide to her bank. 

5:50 p.m. — A traffic enforcement on Westchester Avenue yielded no violations. 

10:29 p.m. — A man, age and condition unknown, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by PRVAC.


Sunday, July 27

9:00 p.m. — Drivers caught speeding on Westchester Avenue were issued two speeding tickets. 

11:00 p.m. — A suspicious vehicle reported by a resident on Pine Drive,  parked in the cul de sac, was determined to belong to a resident of the street. Police say it was not illegally parked and there was no problem.
