Pound Ridge
Tuesday, Sept. 16
10:55 a.m. — A driver traveling on Westchester Avenue was issued a ticket for not having a current certificate of inspection.
7:30 p.m. — A female, age and condition unknown, was taken by Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Northern Westchester Hospital.
Wednesday, Sept. 17
11:40 a.m. — Police spoke to a landscaper about a complaint made by a Rock Hill Way caller about their equipment. Police said there was no problem.
4:00 p.m. — A man was offered transport to Northern Westchester Hospital by Westchester EMS and Vista firefighters. He declined and refused medical treatment.
5:00 p.m. — Police issued 11 summonses to drivers on Salem Road: eight for failure to obey a traffic device; one for unsafe driving; one for no license; and one for unregistered vehicle.
Thursday Sept. 18
9:25 a.m. — A complaint on Trinity Pass Road regarding a leaf blower violation was unfounded, police said.
9:45 a.m. — Police dispatched to a residence on Bender Way for a reported leaf blower violation spoke to a landscaper who was not using unauthorized equipment and was just leaving the property.
1:15 p.m. — A caller on High Ridge Road reported a man behaving strangely. They were told to call back if he comes around again.
3:25 p.m. — Police dispatched to a home on Trinity Pass Road for a possible violation of gas leaf blowers found a man using a wood chipper. No rules were broken.
3:40 p.m. — A male, age and condition unknown, was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital by Bedford firefighters.
6:30 p.m. — A man who requested an ambulance and medical attention on arrival refused both.
7:09 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was given a ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign.
7:15 p.m. — A caller on White Birch Road South reported unknown callers were attempting to contact him on his phone. A report was taken.
8:30 p.m. — A caller on Hack Green Road reported an unknown party was parked in their driveway 15 minutes earlier. Police advised they contact them if the person comes back.
Friday Sept. 19
10:10 a.m. — A driver was issued a summons on Long Ridge Road for improper plates and no inspection sticker.
9:00 p.m. — Someone was reported yelling on Apple Tree Lane. Police looked for the person but didn’t find them.
Saturday, Sept. 20
4:56 a.m. — A person who asked for medical assistance declined it when police arrived.
10:30 a.m. — Police searched for landscapers reported using gas leaf blowers on Stone Hill Road but didn’t find them.
12:00 p.m. — A driver traveling on Westchester Avenue got a ticket for their failure to obey a traffic device.
1:45 p.m. — A man was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps. No further information was provided.
3:45 p.m. — A caller who said they were locked out of their own car on Upper Shad Road was assisted by police.
4:07 p.m. — A man was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Westchester EMS and Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
7:46 p.m. — A person who failed to stop at a stop sign on Westchester Avenue was issued a traffic ticket.
9:40 p.m. — A driver on Stone Hill Road was issued a ticket for failure to show their car was inspected.
Sunday, Sept. 21
7:55 p.m. — A caller on Autumn Ridge Road asked police to check on their neighbor after seeing several packages piling up on their porch; police arrived and saw one package. The homeowner was contacted and advised the police had been on their premises. The homeowner said they would retrieve their package.
Monday, Sept. 22
7:05 a.m. — Two drivers caught speeding on Westchester Avenue were issued tickets. Police said one driver was going 51 mph in a 30-mph zone; and the other driver was clocked at 48 mph in the same zone.
Bedford
Police: Woman won’t leave old boyfriend alone
On Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 5:30 p.m., a resident of White Plains, female, 47, was arrested at police headquarters, charged with criminal contempt and disobeying a court order. Police said that the day before, a Bedford man came to headquarters to report receiving a text from a blocked number. Later that day while he was at a relative’s home, a woman he’d been involved with years earlier pulled up in her car and screamed at him before speeding off, he told police. He currently has a court order for her to stay away. A warrant was put out for her arrest. White Plains Police contacted Bedford Police a day later to say she was in their custody after she was identified in White Plains during a minor car accident. Bedford Police took her to their headquarters where she was arraigned and seen by a judge before proceeding to the county jail.
Monday, Sept. 15
3:19 a.m. — A resident of Katonah, female, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps after experiencing a poor reaction to a new medication.
7:14 a.m. — Police responded to a reported disturbance in Bedford Hills. The call came in through 911; the caller said he was barricaded inside a bathroom. On police arrival several men were sitting at a kitchen table. No one was locked in the bathroom. One man said another threatened him with a knife. Another man said there was no threat and the knife was out because they were making breakfast sandwiches. Police said one man was heavily intoxicated. He was taken by Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Northern Westchester Hospital. Eviction information was provided to the primary resident.
9:00 a.m. — Police received two anonymously written letters regarding the legality and operation of a massage business. The allegations included prostitution, operating without a business license and an illegal apartment. The building department was contacted and said there have been no complaints or violations. The fire marshall said the same. A report was made for documentation only.
4:52 p.m. — A caller on Huntville Road, Katonah, reported a suspicious man going through mailboxes. Police arrived and spoke with a mail carrier who said his co-worker accidentally left her keys in somebody’s box and he was assisting her in finding them.
Tuesday, Sept. 16
1:10 p.m. — A resident of Bedford contacted police regarding a domestic incident at her parents’ home in Armonk. She said she was using their printer when her father began berating her. She said when she got home she called North Castle Police who referred her back to Bedford. A New York state domestic incident report was completed and forwarded to North Castle Police.
2:40 p.m. — A resident of Bedford Hills was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Mount Kisco ambulance after he was found lying in his yard, unresponsive. On police arrival, CPR was in progress. His friend and caretaker said the man suffers from kidney failure and is diabetic.
Wednesday, Sept. 17
1:27 p.m. — A male, 98, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Bedford firefighters after his doctor requested him to return there after he was discharged prematurely.
1:33 p.m. — A resident of Katonah came to headquarters to report her landlord’s dog bit her on the calf after she entered its electric fence area to deliver a package mistakenly delivered to her residence, a cottage on the property. A dog bite form was completed and the dog control officer checked with the landlord to provide proof the dog is vaccinated. The reporting party said she’d already been to urgent care to attend to the wound.
1:59 p.m. — A resident of Katonah came to police headquarters to report a mother who she said engaged in a hostile manner with her and her daughter at a school bus stop on Allison Road. She already spoke with elementary school staff and hopes the situation can be resolved through them. Meanwhile, police attempted to speak with the other party three times without result.
Friday, Sept. 19
8:54 a.m. — A resident of Scarsdale, male, 45, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps after fainting inside a bank in Katonah. The man was on the floor when police arrived. He had a minor laceration to his eye as a result of his fall and head injury was suspected.
10:17 a.m. —A Bedford man came to headquarters to report a family issue. He lives with his father and is his caretaker. On this date he left his father briefly in his aunt’s care; when he returned his aunt accused him of mistreating his father. His brother chimed in shortly after with the same complaint. Police told him to hire a family attorney.
Saturday, Sept. 20
3:06 a.m. — A resident of Bedford, male, 90, was taken by Bedford firefighters to Northern Westchester Hospital after he fell out of bed and broke his leg.
1:11 p.m. — Police went to a home on Post Road, Bedford, after a teenager home alone notified his father a truck was in their driveway and had been there for some time. On arrival, police spoke to a delivery driver who said he’d locked his keys inside the vehicle and was waiting for assistance. Police helped him gain entrance to his vehicle and he left the area.
3:30 p.m. — Police are investigating an incident of a Bedford resident receiving unwanted texts and images on her phone.
10:37 p.m. — Police went to a home in Katonah for a domestic disturbance. They spoke with the husband who said he came home late and was making food when his wife entered the kitchen and began arguing with him. A bowl was knocked over or thrown. Their daughter told police her father was the instigator. A New York state domestic incident report was completed.
Sunday, Sept. 21
12:21 p.m. — A resident of Stamford, Conn., male, 40, was assisted at a residence in Bedford after he choked on something he was eating. A medic cleared the obstruction and no further help was needed.
1:04 p.m. — Following multiple reports of drivers not stopping for a stop sign in Katonah at Garlen Road and Almar Lane, extra traffic details to the area were assigned.
1:29 p.m. — Police said they would increase patrols in the area in front of John Jay Homestead in Katonah after receiving numerous reports of speeding.
2:09 p.m. — A dog reported incessantly barking on Robinson Avenue, Bedford Hills, was marked unfounded. Police patrolling the area heard no barking.
Lewisboro
Monday, Sept. 15
12:07 p.m. — The wind blew open a door a painting contractor failed to properly close at an address in Waccabuc, activating a burglar alarm. Police on arrival said there was no illegal access.
Tuesday, Sept. 16
3:50 p.m. — Police went to an address in South Salem for a self-described schizophrenic who contacted them asking to be taken to a hospital. She said the hospital wouldn’t hold her when she’d been there earlier in the day because her symptoms weren’t severe enough. Vista ambulance members evaluated her and took her to Northern Westchester Hospital for further evaluation.
6:15 p.m. — A man reported in the vicinity of the Goldens Bridge train station was found sleeping on a bench. He said he was fine and waiting for his ride.
Wednesday, Sept. 17
7:30 p.m. — Police, Westchester EMS and Vista EMS went to a group home in South Salem because a resident was reported as harming himself. Police said the man was handcuffed for his own safety and taken to Northern Westchester Hospital.
Thursday, Sept. 18
9:10 p.m. — Police returned to the group home in South Salem for the same self-injuring person reported the day before. He was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Vista ambulance.
Friday, Sept. 19
9:15 a.m. — Police went to an address in Katonah for a report of an elderly woman who fell and couldn’t get up. Her health care aide reported the condition. The fallen woman expressed she was in pain and was attended to by Westchester EMS and Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps but declined hospital transport or further medical attention.
9:43 a.m. — Police went to a home in South Salem where Vista firefighters were already loading a man, age and condition unknown, into an ambulance bound for Norwalk Hospital.
6:05 p.m. — Local residents came to headquarters to report fraud. They said their PayPal, Venmo and cellphone accounts were compromised and whoever hacked into their accounts also applied for a $5,000 loan using their identities. All their accounts were frozen to protect their interests. A report was made for documentation. They said they weren’t out any money.
6:50 p.m. — Neighbors in Goldens Bridge who can’t get along brought police to their residences. Police say they argue over a shared driveway. Both parties were interviewed about where their cars were parked. No further action was taken.
Saturday, Sept. 20
11:54 a.m. — Police were requested at Four Winds Hospital in Cross River by a mother who wanted to get her son, 9, out of the hospital. The officer spoke to the staff who said the child was not ready to be discharged. This information was conveyed to his mother who became distraught and angry. She verbally threatened the officer who warned her about her disruptive behavior. After some time she spent cooling off in her car, she approached the officer again in an unfriendly manner. Police left her there after advising hospital staff to reach out if the mother continued to be disruptive.
1:22 p.m. — Police went to a home in Katonah to assist an older woman who fell out of bed and couldn’t get up. She agreed to be taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Goldens Bridge firefighters.
8:30 p.m. — A driver, age and address unknown, was taken to Danbury Hospital following a two-car collision on Route 35 near Spring Street for a complaint of chest, leg and neck pain. Both cars were towed from the scene.
Sunday, Sept. 21
11:55 a.m. — Police went to Valeria Circle, North Salem, for a report of a missing male, 11. North Salem Police and New York State Police were also looking for him. His family said he was on a black Trek bike. He returned home unscathed before police found him.
