Police Reports Pound Ridge, Bedford, Lewisboro, Mount Kisco, Oct 11-19, 2025

POUND RIDGE

Saturday, Oct. 11 

10:31 a.m. — Police responded to a traffic complaint on Salem Road involving multiple construction vehicles. They saw only cones and flaggers were being used, not signs. Police spoke with a supervisor and changes were made. 

10:48 a.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was given a ticket for failure to stop for a stop sign. 

11:25 a.m. — Two summonses were issued on Pound Ridge Road: one for no insurance; and the other for failure to stop at a stop sign. 

12:10 p.m. — A caller on Westchester Avenue complained about someone using a gas leaf blower. Police found no violations. 

1:39 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was given a ticket for not wearing a seat belt.  

Sunday, Oct. 12

9:44 a.m. — A wire reported down on Trinity Pass Road was referred to the utility. 

Monday, Oct. 13

From 4:05 a.m. until 4:50 p.m., police received over a dozen calls regarding wires down and blocked roads on Cross River Road, Donbrook Road West, Indian Hill Road, Honey Hollow Road, Old Stone Hill Road, Scofield Road, Westchester Avenue, Upper Shad Road, High Ridge Road, Salem Road and Horseshoe Hill Road due to weather conditions. The highway department and appropriate utilities were notified. No injuries were reported. 

1:28 p.m. — A man was taken to Stamford Hospital by Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps. No further information was provided.

Tuesday, Oct. 14

2:40 p.m. — A resident on Tatomuck Road was reported for violating a local ordinance. 

5:30 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was pulled over and released with a warning.  

6:50 p.m. — Two drivers were issued warnings during a radar detail on Westchester Avenue.  

Wednesday, Oct 15

10:15 a.m. — Four summonses were issued on Westchester Avenue: two were for talking on the phone while driving; and two for speeding. 

5:43 p.m. — Two summonses were issued to drivers on Salem Road: one for driving without a license; and the other for disobeying a traffic signal.  

Thursday, Oct 16

1:00 p.m. — A driver on  High Ridge Road was given a ticket for driving to the left of pavement markings.  

1:00 p.m. — Two loose dogs reported on Conant Valley Road were gone on police arrival.  

Friday, Oct. 17

10:35 a.m. — A driver on Salem Road was given tickets for no inspection sticker and improper plates.  

Saturday, Oct. 18

11:30 a.m. — Dangling branches presenting a safety hazard were reported on Lower Shad Road. Police secured the branches with cable; other departments were notified.  

1:25 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was given a summons for failure to obey a traffic signal. 

Sunday, Oct. 19

9:45 a.m. — A car versus deer collision on Lower Shad Road resulted in the car being towed. The driver refused medical attention. No mention was made of the deer.  

10:30 a.m. — A disabled vehicle on Upper Shad Road was towed.  

11:15 a.m. — A woman, age and condition unknown, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by the Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.  


BEDFORD

Tuesday, Oct. 14

9:16 p.m. — A resident of Bedford, male, 63, was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital by Westchester EMS after being stung in his yard by a swarm of bees. 

10:56 p.m. — A resident of Bedford Hills, female, 41, was transported by the Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Northern Westchester Hospital after suffering a spider bite to her face. Police say medics were on scene attending to her on their arrival.  

Wednesday, Oct. 15

9:18 a.m. — A British citizen came to headquarters to report their lost U.K. passport. They said they’ve been visiting and traveling in New York. The last time they saw the passport was at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Police provided them with paperwork to  obtain new documents.  

12:50 p.m. — A driver for a company that collects used cooking oil reported an unknown party on two occasions removed oil from a container behind the shopping center on Katonah Avenue, Katonah. The driver said it appeared someone tampered with the lock and broke the seal. The last time the company came to collect oil was in July. The driver was unable to provide a value of the oil believed stolen or how much oil was removed. A report was made for documentation.

7:51 p.m. — A dead bobcat was reported on the side of Old Post Road. The highway department was notified to remove it.  

Thursday, Oct. 16

9:20 a.m. — Police went to a gas station in Bedford Village for a report of a problem with a customer who had been previously warned to get gas somewhere else. An employee said he returned after being told he wasn’t  welcome. The man in question, who police say is a resident of Brewster, male, 54, swore at the employee but left before police arrived. No further action was taken.  

1:22 p.m. — A Bedford parent came to headquarters to report their son was assaulted by another student at Bedford Village Elementary School. Police said no physical injuries were reported and the school is investigating matters internally and working with all involved parties without their help.   

6:25 p.m. — A Pleasantville man and his passenger, female, 30, from Rhode Island, were traveling on Route 35, Cross River, when a tree fell on their car. The car was towed. The passenger was taken by Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Northern Westchester Hospital for injuries to her elbow and lower arm.  

Friday, Oct. 17

9:37 p.m. — A resident of Bedford Hills came to headquarters to report losing his attorney ID card. He remembered taking it out of his wallet the day before but now couldn’t find it. A report was made for documentation so he could obtain a new card.  

Saturday, Oct. 18

10:16 a.m. — A loose brown dog reported in the roadway near Pines Bridge and Deer Ridge roads in Katonah was gone on police arrival.  

3:38 p.m. — Callers in Bedford Village reported a suspicious black Ford with a red flag and Pennsylvania plates stopping in front of houses. Police searched for the described vehicle which was gone on their arrival.  

4:07 p.m. — A man reported sleeping in the vestibule of the Katonah post office told police he didn’t need further help after they directed him to a Westchester County shelter in White Plains. A postal employee said the man has personal belongings stowed behind the building. These were removed and the man said he was walking to the train station to catch a southbound train. 

Sunday, Oct. 19

12:04 p.m. — A caller complained about too much noise coming from a youth softball event at Katonah Memorial Park. Police said there was music but none exceeding the noise ordinance.  


LEWISBORO

Just making dinner 

On Sunday, Oct. 19, at 5:35 p.m., an officer went to Quincy Court for a report of someone burning a fire in a fire pit. On arrival they saw someone barbecuing on a homemade grill made of cinder blocks and a grate. Police said there was no problem.

Monday, Oct. 13

5:55 p.m. — Police went to a home in Goldens Bridge for a report of choking. On their arrival they navigated a difficult driveway to find fire apparatus already in place. The officer backed out to make room for medics and an ambulance and had no contact with the patient who was taken to an unnamed hospital by the Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps. 

8:45 p.m. — A person, age, gender, condition unknown, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by ALS ambulance from a multifamily dwelling in Cross River.

Tuesday, Oct. 14

11:55 a.m. — Police assisted a female, 85,  who fell in her driveway in South Salem. She was taken by Vista ambulance to Norwalk Hospital for pain to her left leg and shoulder. 

7:00 p.m. — A caller reported a suspicious gray pickup truck hanging around the nursery on East Street; she thought they might be attempting to steal merchandise. She provided the license plate information to the police who contacted the operator of the pickup. That person said they were buying used merchandise from someone else on East Street and didn’t realize they were on private property. 

9:30 p.m. — A caller on Lockwood Road, South Salem, expressed concern regarding a vehicle with a loud exhaust driving up and down the street, possibly scoping out an unoccupied home recently listed for sale. Police saw a kitchen light on inside the house which appeared vacant. The car in question was nowhere to be seen. The exterior of the house was checked and all appeared in good order. 

Wednesday, Oct. 15

1:00 p.m. — A resident of a long-term care facility in South Salem contacted police to say she’d received a message from her bank about an unauthorized address change; she had her suspicions who might have attempted the request. She said no money was taken and police were unsure what happened as she could provide no evidence. Police attempted to contact the bank themselves but were told they were unable to obtain the complainant’s personal information.

1:17 p.m. — Fraud was reported by a South Salem resident who said they’d been contacted by their credit union about an unauthorized account. The complainant’s account was compromised and has since been closed. 

4:00 p.m. — Police went to a home on Oscaleta Road, South Salem, after the homeowner reported his daughter said an older man was attempting to get on the property. It took a minute to straighten out the man was someone his daughter said she’d met at a garden association event who she’d invited over to look at some ferns on her parent’s property. Police spoke to the gentleman who lives in the area and he said the same thing. No further action was taken.

4:30 p.m. — A driver traveling on Route 35, Cross River, told police she had just been to the dentist and felt woozy which caused her to lose consciousness and drive off the road and into bushes. She wasn’t injured and the car wasn’t towed. 

Thursday, Oct. 16

8:20 a.m. — A homemade trailer with no plates attached to a Ford F-550 was impounded on Shady Lane, South Salem. The motorist, who showed police a Connecticut driver’s license, also had no registration and no VIN number could be found on the vehicle. The left turn signal was inoperable. The vehicle was towed. 

3:20 p.m. — A man known to police was seen traveling on Old Oscaleta Road; among other issues, police know his license is suspended. A passenger had an active order of protection against him. He was brought to headquarters, processed and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 27 to answer to three tickets including unlicensed operation and having no inspection sticker. It is unknown how his passenger got home.

7:34 p.m. — Police went to a residence on Deer Hill Road, South Salem, to check on the welfare of a man whose sister was concerned she hadn’t heard from him. He said he was fine and would call her. 

Friday, Oct. 17

3:16 p.m. — Two neighbors who don’t get along on Hillcrest Court, South Salem, brought police to the area for a report of trespassing. Landscapers were involved. There was a new dispute about surveys and plantings. Police said the incident was closed for the time being. 

Saturday, Oct. 18

8:00 a.m. — Police and medical personnel went to an address in South Salem after a man said he fell off the lift device on a truck while delivering a dishwasher. He complained of pain to his chest and right arm. He was taken to Westchester Medical Center by Westchester EMS. The company that owns the vehicle is located in Garfield, N.J. 

6:16 p.m. — A male, age unknown, was taken to Norwalk Hospital by Vista EMS and Westchester EMS after sustaining facial injuries while riding an ATV. His father, who was on scene, said they were riding along on Tri Brook Drive when his son veered onto the road shoulder and struck a tree. 

Sunday, Oct. 19

12:00 p.m. — Chainsaws were reported being used on Truesdale Lake Drive, South Salem. Police saw a man replacing their damaged fence on Salem Lane. He was using a table saw to fix the fence that he said someone hit. Police said there was no problem.


MOUNT KISCO

Saturday, Oct. 11

2:06 a.m. — Officers responded to Gregory Avenue at the request of a tow company that was there to repossess a vehicle. As officers were speaking with the tow truck driver, the registered owner of the car came out of her home and turned over the keys to the vehicle. No further police action was requested.

1:36 p.m. — An officer responded to an urgent care facility on North Bedford Road on a report of a 1-year-old who was brought there after having a seizure. Westchester EMS and the Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded. The child was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital for further evaluation.

6:48 p.m. — A 41-year-old man was issued a summons for public consumption of an alcoholic beverage, a violation, after he was observed walking out of a wooded area near Main Street and Lexington Avenue with an open can of beer. The summons is returnable to Mount Kisco Justice Court on Oct. 30.

Sunday, Oct. 12

11:24 p.m. — A guest at Hotel MTK on Pat Reilly Way called police to report a possible fight or disturbance on the floor above where she was staying. Officers and hotel staff walked through the corridors on that floor but found that there was no disturbance observed.

Monday, Oct. 13

12:49 p.m. — Officers responded to Target on North Bedford Road on a report that a teenager’s hand was stuck in a shopping cart. The condition was corrected. 

2:13 p.m. — An officer responded behind a South Moger Avenue business on a report of a highly intoxicated man who was unable to stand. The man told the officer he had been drinking all day and wanted to go to the hospital. He was taken by ambulance to Westchester Medical Center for evaluation.

Tuesday, Oct. 14

2:09 p.m. — Officers from the Westchester County Surface Transportation Unit began conducting a fare evasion detail around various bus stops in the village. No violations occurred during their inspections.

9:19 p.m. — Officers responded to a gas station on Main Street on a report of a woman who was crying and possibly in distress. Officers spoke with the woman who assured them that she was fine and that she was on her way to her home, which was nearby.

Wednesday, Oct. 15

12:49 a.m. — An officer responded to Spencer Street on a report of a woman who was in and out of consciousness at her residence. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps also responded and took the woman to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation.

9:58 a.m. — A business on Main Street reported that items were illegally dumped into a garbage can on its property. Security video showed the incident occurred Oct. 11. An investigation is continuing.

7:53 p.m. — A Rolling Ridge Court resident reported that a vehicle with a woman behind the wheel was parked for some time in front of a neighbor’s unoccupied home. The vehicle was gone upon an officer’s arrival and the premises were found to be secure. 

Thursday, Oct. 16

10:35 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a man experiencing chest pain at a facility on Radio Circle. Westchester EMS responded with police to provide care and transport to the hospital.

1:34 p.m. — Police responded to a report of people needing assistance leaving a medical office building on South Bedford Road due to a malfunctioning elevator. Officers and the Mount Kisco Fire Department responded to the scene to assist patients and other members of the public to exit safely via the stairs.
