POUND RIDGE

Tuesday, Nov. 18

9:00 a.m. — A driver traveling on Westchester Avenue was issued a summons for broken or inadequate stop lamps (brake lights).  

11:45 a.m.  — A registered sex offender came to headquarters to prove their place of residence within the community. 

3:45 p.m. — Gun shots reported somewhere on Pound Ridge Road were unable to be validated.  

6:00 p.m. — A man requested a lift assist but nothing further.  

10:38 p.m. — A driver traveling on Westchester Avenue was given a ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign.  


Wednesday, Nov. 19

6:30 a.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was ticketed for failing to stop at a stop sign. 

1:45 p.m. — Fraud was reported by a Parkview Road resident who said his phone account was hacked. A report was made. He said he’s at no financial loss.  

1:52 p.m. — A man was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital by the Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.  

5:43 p.m. — No injuries were reported at a hit-and-run incident on Westchester Avenue. One car left the scene. The remaining car wasn’t towed.  

10:30 p.m. — A speeder going 51 mph in a 30-mph zone was ticketed after being caught on radar by police on patrol.  


Thursday, Nov. 20 

9:10 a.m. — A caller on Great Hill Farm Road complained about a car parked in the wrong direction. Police on arrival saw the car but said it wasn’t impeding traffic. The operator was located and agreed to move their car.  

10:25 a.m. — A driver going 52 mph in a 30-mph zone was given a summons on Westchester Avenue.  

5:18 p.m. — A mental health incident was reported on Westchester Avenue. No further information was provided.  


Friday, Nov. 21 

5:40 a.m. — A man was transported to  Northern Westchester Hospital by the Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.


Saturday, Nov. 22

2:45 p.m. — A driver on Salem Road was given a ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign.  

8:39 p.m. — Police looked for a suspicious vehicle reported on High Ridge Road but couldn’t find it. 

9:05 p.m. — An activated panic alarm on Bedford Road turned out to be a false alarm. 


Sunday, Nov 23

9:33 a.m. — Police responded to a residence for an activated medical alarm that turned out to be accidentally activated. They returned to the same residence about an hour later for the same reason. This time they assisted the resident with resetting it. 

12:55 p.m. — A dog brought to headquarters found on Salem Road was reunited with its owner.  


Monday, Nov. 24

1:00 a.m. —  A man was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital by the Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

7:45 a.m. — A deer reported by a caller on Stone Hill Road who had its antlers caught in netting had freed itself on police arrival and was leaving the property.  


Tuesday, Nov. 25

11:00 a.m. —  A trash bin reported blocking the roadway on Salem Road was gone before police arrived. 

12:00 p.m. — No violations were observed during a radar patrol on Westchester Avenue.  

1:31 p.m. — Two drivers were issued summonses for failing to stop at a stop sign on Westchester Avenue.  

2:12 p.m. — A caller reported they’d been bitten by a dog while doing their work at a residence on East Woods Road. The dog control officer was advised and paperwork regarding the incident was submitted to the Westchester County Health Department.  


Wednesday, Nov. 26 

1:03 p.m. — Police responded to Old Stone Hill Road for a report of wires down. The utility was notified.  

5:40 p.m. — A driver who failed to stop for a stop sign on Westchester Avenue was given a ticket.  

10:47 p.m. — A panic alarm activated at a home on Autumn Ridge Road was accidentally activated.  


Thursday, Nov. 27

2:45 a.m. — A male who requested help from police and medics refused it when they got to his residence.  

10:37 a.m. — A 911 call from Beech Hill Road was reported dialed in error.  12:45 p.m. — A vehicle reported suspicious on Scofield Road was not located by police.  


Friday, Nov. 28 

6:20 p.m. — A driver who failed to obey a traffic device on Stone Hill Road was ticketed.  


Saturday, Nov. 29

12:45 p.m. — A dead deer on White Birch Road was removed by the highway department.  

12:30 p.m. — A suspicious car reported on Doe View Lane was unable to be located by police.  


Sunday, Nov. 30 

1:45 p.m. — A driver on Salem Road was given a ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign.  


Monday, Dec. 1

8:00 a.m. — A mental health incident was reported on Lyndel Road. No details were provided. 


BEDFORD

Pair arrested on stolen motorcycle 

On Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 5:40 p.m., two men, one from Hartford, Conn., age 26, the second from Queens, age 22, were arrested  during a traffic detail on Route 35 when an officer noticed the motorcycle they were riding had no license plate. The officer also observed them ignoring a traffic signal. A stop was initiated on Lyon Ridge Road and the officer saw there was no key in the bike’s ignition and wires were sticking out. A check of the VIN number showed the motorcycle was reported stolen. Its owner was contacted and told police it had been missing since August. Another unit was requested and the men were taken into custody and brought to headquarters to be charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. The bike was towed to the police impound. The pair were scheduled to appear in court the next day. 


Monday, Nov. 24 

9:49 a.m. — A woman, 75, was taken from her home in Bedford Village by Bedford firefighters to Northern Westchester Hospital after reporting her inability to walk.  

11:38 a.m. — A man, 71, from South Salem was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital from a cancer treatment facility in Katonah after complaining of shortness of breath and a fainting episode. 


Tuesday, Nov. 25

5:46 p.m. — An older woman reported wandering aimlessly on the platform of the train station in Bedford Hills was taken by Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Northern Westchester Hospital.


Wednesday, Nov. 26

11:43 p.m. — A Mahopac man, 47, was charged with driving while intoxicated at a DWI checkpoint on the Interstate 684 exit ramp near Cross River Road. Police said they were stopping every vehicle checking for drunk drivers. Police said he claimed he had not been drinking but officers noted glassy eyes and slurred speech. He was asked to move his vehicle out of the travel lane and exit the car. He declined to participate in several sobriety tests although at this time he admitted he had one drink, police said. He was taken to headquarters for processing. A female passenger who was sober was given permission to drive the car and drove the man home after processing. He is to appear in court Dec. 10. 

12:43 p.m. — A Bedford Hills man, 100, was taken by Westchester EMS to Northern Westchester Hospital to be treated for a head injury after a fall at his home. Police found him in the bathroom cleaning blood from a laceration to his head. He showed police where he’d fallen in the living room before medics arrived and took over.  


Thursday, Nov. 27

1:50 p.m. — A woman brought a black-and-white spaniel she found on the trails behind Beaver Dam Road to headquarters. The dog was chipped and the owner notified by voicemail. As no one called back right away, the dog was taken to the South Salem animal hospital for holding. Police said the owner soon made contact and was able to retrieve their pet.  

4:44 p.m. — Police responded to a report of an open garage door in Bedford Village; they saw the open door connected to the interior of the residence but no sign of forced entry. Another unit was requested and the house was searched. As nothing seemed amiss, police left the premises but said they were unable to secure the garage door. A message was left for the homeowner. 


Friday, Nov. 28

10:49 a.m. — A man, 82, from Somers, was taken by Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Northern Westchester Hospital after he tripped on Katonah Avenue outside an eyewear shop. Police said the fall resulted in injuries to his hand and forehead. 

9:37 p.m. — A woman, 73, from Katonah, was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital by Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps after she fell on her way to her bedroom.  


Saturday, Nov. 29

10:51 a.m. — A juvenile riding a dirt bike was stopped on Bedford Road, Bedford Hills, for not having a registration, insurance, license, or other legal requirements. The boy’s father was riding on another bike behind him. Both claimed to have no knowledge regarding the legality of riding dirt bikes on public roadways. A pamphlet was given to them both and police escorted them back to their residence. 

12:04 p.m. — A Valley Stream man, 43, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Bedford firefighters after he experienced a panic attack in the Park & Ride lot in Bedford. Police said he was experiencing high blood pressure.  


Sunday, Nov. 30

2:49 p.m. — A mother called police on her son who she locked out of their home during an argument at her residence on Wildwood Road, Katonah. Given the fact the son, an adult, basically lives at home, the mother was told she had to let him in. They agreed to stay away from each other and a New York state domestic incident report was completed. 

7:57 p.m. — A Bedford man was reported breathing but otherwise unresponsive; he was transported by ALS ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital. Police said he also had a high temperature. No further information was available.


LEWISBORO

Car and deer collide on Route 35

On Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 6:30 a.m., a car and a deer collided in the westbound lane of Route 35 in Cross River. The driver said the deer entered the southbound lane and then crashed into the car by the northbound shoulder. The deer fled the scene. No injuries were reported and the car wasn’t towed. 


Monday, Nov. 24

3:30 p.m. — Police went to a home in Salem to assist an 87-year-old man who fell in his bedroom. He was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Westchester EMS and ALS. 

8:42 p.m. — A South Salem man came to headquarters to report another man harassing him. One of them lent money to the other and they’re now in court. The complainant said the other party keeps contacting him and threatened to post embarrassing photos on Instagram to shame and humiliate him. Police advised him to block that number and discuss the harassment with his lawyer. 


Tuesday, Nov. 25

10:00 a.m. — A South Salem woman came to headquarters to report her former fiance’s persistence, making contact and creating fake email addresses to trick her into responding. She said they have a history of breaking up and reconciling. Police told her to ignore him.  

9:05 p.m. — A mouse stuck between the screen and glass of a basement window activated a burglar alarm at a South Salem home. No information was provided regarding the fate of the mouse. 


Wednesday, Nov. 26

1:11 p.m. — An employee at the Acme Market in Goldens Bridge was arrested and charged with criminal mischief after, police said, he was caught on camera damaging a handicapped sign and pole and a sink, causing more than $4,000 in damages. Police waited for him to report for his shift at which time he admitted to the vandalism. He was taken to headquarters for processing and given a courtesy ride home. He is to appear in court Dec. 8. 

9:03 p.m. — Police went to a home in South Salem for a welfare check after a caller reported she was on the phone with her mother-in-law when she heard screaming in the background. At the residence the grandmother said her granddaughter was upset after learning the family would no longer be going to Vermont for her birthday, and there was no need for concern.  


Thursday, Nov. 27

7:40 p.m. — A cancer patient in Goldens Bridge was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by the Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps after reporting feeling weak. She was evaluated by paramedics prior to transport. 


Friday, Nov. 28

4:30 p.m. — A woman came to headquarters to report a domestic incident that occurred earlier that day at the grocery store in the shopping plaza in Goldens Bridge. A New York state domestic incident report was completed and the woman was provided information regarding the county hotline. 

7:00 p.m. — A South Salem resident called 911 because they thought they heard someone in a basement on Smith Ridge Road. Police checked the basement and saw no signs of forced entry or evidence of any person. 


Saturday, Nov. 29

2:40 p.m. — Police are investigating an incident of vandalism to an unregistered car parked at a construction site in South Salem. Two teens were observed on security cameras throwing rocks, damaging the windshield and multiple windows. The vehicle had no plates and a flat tire and the alleged owner was unable to provide proof of ownership. 

7:50 p.m. — A burglar alarm was activated at a home on Todd Road, Goldens Bridge. Police saw no signs of forced entry and the house was secure. 


Sunday, Nov. 30

9:52 a.m. — A young hitchhiker wearing a tank top and shorts was reported looking for a ride near the New Canaan border. Police searched the area but did not locate the person.

9:50 p.m. — Police went to a home in Katonah after a woman reported chest pain. She was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps. 


MOUNT KISCO

Sunday, Nov. 23

1:48 a.m. — A 40-year-old village man was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, after a traffic stop on Legion Drive. After the motorist failed a field sobriety test, he was taken into custody and booked at the Green Street precinct. He is accused of having a blood-alcohol level more than three times the legal limit. He was released pending a Dec. 4 appearance in Mount Kisco Justice Court.

9:33 a.m. — Officers responded to Diplomat Drive on a report of a woman injured in a fall. They helped the woman back into a wheelchair and requested EMS due to a possible leg injury. The woman was taken by the Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Northern Westchester Hospital.

9:00 p.m. — An officer was dispatched to West Street on a report of a person experiencing chest pain and possibly a mental health issue. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps also responded and transported the person to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation.

11:04 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a man who threatened self-harm and then left his Barker Street residence. Officers canvassed multiple areas in the village in an effort to locate him. The Westchester County Mobile Crisis Response Team was advised. A short time later, a patrol sergeant was able to reach the man on his mobile phone. He then exchanged texts with the Mobile Crisis Response Team, advising that he was “fine” and declined any additional assistance.


Monday, Nov. 24

12:29 a.m. — A man called police to state that he had been kicked out of a bar on South Moger Avenue and didn’t know why. He was gone upon an officer’s arrival.

12:58 a.m. — A welfare check was requested for an intoxicated man on Main Street. The man told an officer he had consumed 10 beers throughout the evening and was not feeling well. Westchester EMS responded to take over care and transported the man to the hospital for further medical evaluation.

7:30 a.m. — An officer on patrol was dispatched to the Green Street precinct to take a report of a catalytic converter theft that occurred in the past. A Bronx man who works overnight at Stop & Shop on North Bedford Road reported that his catalytic converter was stolen while his vehicle was parked near the store during the overnight hours of Nov. 22-23. He said he did not detect the theft until after he drove home on the morning of Nov. 23. The officer canvassed several nearby businesses to request any security video that may have captured the incident or a suspect vehicle. The matter remains under investigation.

10:53 a.m. — An officer from the Westchester County Taxi and Limousine Commission Enforcement Unit was conducting safety and compliance checks in Kirby Plaza and identified a scofflaw vehicle. A traffic stop was made and a Spanish-speaking officer from the Mount Kisco precinct was requested to assist. A summons was issued to the driver. The vehicle was impounded due to past unpaid TLC fines.


Tuesday, Nov. 25

9:43 a.m. — An officer observed a man drinking beer near the corner of Main Street and Lexington Avenue. The man threw the beer can into an adjacent trailway when the officer pulled up. He was issued summonses for public consumption of alcohol and littering.

10:39 a.m. — It was reported that a woman was feeling ill and vomiting at a North Bedford Road business. An officer and EMS responded. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the woman to the hospital.

11:41 a.m. — An officer on patrol observed a man urinating in public at Lexington and Sarles avenues. A summons was issued.

11:44 a.m.   Police received a report of a man causing a disturbance in the 500 block of East Main Street. A summons was issued.

2:39 p.m. — Police received a report of a possibly intoxicated man in need of assistance on South Moger Avenue. An officer and EMS responded.


Wednesday, Nov. 26

8:43 a.m. — A man reported that he lost his wallet the previous night at the Mount Kisco train station. He was advised that it was not turned in to Westchester County Police and he should check with Metro-North’s lost and found in case it was turned over to railroad personnel.

10:48 a.m. — An officer responded to Kisco Avenue on a report that two infants, 3 months and 18 months old, had been accidentally locked inside a car. The condition was corrected.

11:52 a.m. — A woman used the callbox at the Green Street precinct to assist a Spanish-speaking man who had come there to obtain a copy of a police report. An officer on patrol was dispatched to the precinct to handle the matter.
