Sunday, July 6

8:42 p.m. — A man was accused of menacing two people with a knife at Lexington Avenue and Sarles Street. One of the victims told officers that a man approached him, brandished a knife and said “You are going to die today.” The suspect then walked away and went into a local deli. After an investigation, a 26-year-old man was arrested in the deli and charged with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor. A knife was found on a shelf in the store, and an employee verified the knife was not property of the business. However, the victims were unable to say for sure that it was the same knife that the suspect had brandished. The accused was booked at the Green Street precinct and held for arraignment.

Monday, July 7

7:39 a.m. — A contractor’s truck was reported to be blocking a driveway on Gregory Avenue. The condition was corrected.

11:06 a.m. – A complaint was made that a postal service truck had been speeding through Leonard Park. A patrol sergeant went to the post office on Morgan Street and apprised a supervisor that a complaint had been lodged.

2:10 p.m. – Police investigated a report of a disoriented elderly woman in the vicinity of Village Hall on Main Street. An officer located her along with a man who had called police after encountering the woman and being concerned for her well-being. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps also responded and took the woman to Northern Westchester Hospital. Several minutes later, a caller reported that an elderly relative with dementia was missing from home. The caller was advised that the relative was safe and at the hospital.

6:23 p.m. — A man contacted police to report that an auto dealership in the village was refusing to give him his car back. An employee told the officer that the man owed a service fee and that the car would not be returned until the fee was paid. The complainant, who was disputing the charge, was advised that this was a civil matter. The employee advised that a manager would follow up with the man the next day.

11:07 p.m. — A welfare check was conducted at a North Moger Avenue residence after a parent reported that she was concerned about her son’s behavior. Officers and EMS personnel spoke with the youth and determined, along with the parent, that there was no need for immediate intervention or mental health services.

Wednesday, July 9

2:14 p.m. — An odor of gas was reported in a building on South Bedford Road. An officer and the Mount Kisco Fire Department responded and a gas leak was found on the roof. Con Edison was notified to respond.

2:48 p.m. — A business owner arrived at the Green Street precinct to report that he had been defrauded out of $17,200 through a check washing scam. The owner reported that someone had accessed legitimate checks sent out from his business but altered them to change the names of those being paid and the amounts. An officer prepared a report and turned the matter over to detectives for continued investigation.

Thursday, July 10

2:20 a.m. — Officers responded to a West Main Street residence on a report of a domestic dispute. A man there told officers that his ex-girlfriend showed up even though she was told not to come to his apartment. The woman said she came there because the man had texted her and asked her to do so. Each party said they had been pushed by the other person during an argument but both declined to pursue charges. The woman agreed to go home. Officers prepared a New York state domestic incident report.

4:05 p.m. — A Main Street business reported that a man who was barred from the store had returned there and was refusing to leave. The man left the premises upon an officer’s arrival.

5:15 p.m. — Police investigated a report of a person riding a go-kart in Leonard Park. The condition was corrected.

6:18 p.m. — An employee at a school in the village reported receiving a threatening email from a former student. An investigation is continuing.

Friday, July 11

2:08 a.m. — An officer on patrol observed a woman slumped against a parked car on West Main Street. The officer spoke with the woman who declined any medical attention but appeared intoxicated. The officer asked the woman for her car keys so she wouldn’t drive. She called her husband who arrived on foot and said he would drive her home. The man, however, did not have a valid driver’s license to operate the vehicle and a taxi was called to take them both home.

3:53 p.m. — A South Moger Avenue business reported that a larceny of multiple clothing items had occurred in the store earlier that day. An investigation is continuing.

This report was made from official records provided by the Pound Ridge, Bedford, Lewisboro and county (Mount Kisco) police departments. Mount Kisco is compiled by Martin Wilbur, all others by Eve Marx.
