Woman rummaging through containers, bins
On Thursday, July 24, at 8:10 a.m., a person working on the Oak Ridge Commons property in South Salem came to headquarters to make a trespass complaint about an unknown woman rummaging through bins and containers at the rear of a Fox Run residence. It is unknown if she is a homeowner within the complex or overly inquisitive about that home, which is up for auction. The complainant was advised to contact the homeowner’s association and the auctioneer.
Monday, July 21
10:50 a.m. — One person was taken to Norwalk Hospital by an undisclosed ambulance for a complaint of neck and head pain following a rear-ending crash on Route 123, South Salem. One car was towed from the scene.
2:07 p.m. — Police went to the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem to speak with the CFO regarding a harassing voicemail received from a Michigan area code. A report was made for documentation.
Tuesday, July 22
1:15 p.m. — A female, 91, was reported unresponsive but breathing at her South Salem home. Police said she was conscious but preferred to keep her eyes shut. An aide said she complained of chest pain while eating lunch. She was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Westchester EMS.
Wednesday, July 23
8:15 p.m. — Police went to Four Winds Hospital, Cross River, after a female patient, 24, was reported to have been struck in the head by a male patient, 20. The woman’s mother was the reporting party. Hospital staff said there were no witnesses or evidence of injuries or marks on the female patient’s head. The parties were moved to separate areas of the facility and while police were advised by staff they were not to interview either party, the female was observed through a glass door and appeared fine. The female was scheduled to be discharged from the hospital the next day and police said if she wanted to pursue the matter, she could contact them.
8:40 p.m. — Police went to a residence in South Salem for an abandoned 911 call. On arrival the resident said they’d accidentally called it while making a 914 call.
Thursday, July 24
7:53 a.m. — Police and Lewisboro ambulance members went to a home in Goldens Bridge to assist a woman who fell and struck her head. On arrival, her nose was bleeding and she complained of head pain. She was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital for treatment.
1:45 p.m. — Possible child abuse was reported at the Lewisboro Town Park after an employee at the summer camp told another camp employee about an unspecified incident. An investigation into the matter is pending. No further information was provided.
10:01 p.m. — A cellphone was returned to its owner after being found by a person on Kitchawan Road, South Salem, in the middle of the street. Police recognized the name and picture of the person who owns the phone. She said she must have accidentally left it on the top of her car while moving boxes from her mother’s house.
Friday, July 25
11:05 a.m. — Police went to Four Winds Hospital for a report of a runaway; a male wearing an orange shirt was last seen on foot traveling eastbound on Route 35 near The Meadows. An officer located him and found him uncooperative. Nevertheless, he got in the police vehicle and was returned to the hospital.
8:45 p.m. — A person, gender, age and condition unknown, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps for difficulty breathing.
Saturday, July 26
11:46 a.m. — A caller in South Salem requested assistance with a squirrel inside the house. Police entered and looked for it but there was no sign of the animal. The homeowner was provided with contact information for an animal relocation outfit.
2:05 p.m. — A couple whose verbal argument turned physical brought police to a home in South Salem. Both parties spoke to the police as well as the female’s father. The male said he was leaving for work for the night; her parents said they would stay in the home that evening to help care for the couple’s children. A New York state domestic incident report was completed and domestic violence hotline contact information was provided.
8:41 p.m. — A man was reported yelling outside a multi-dwelling residence in Goldens Bridge. No further information was provided by the reporting party. Police canvassed the area but heard nothing out of the ordinary.
Sunday, July 27
4:15 p.m. — A runaway female was reported from Four Winds Hospital, last seen near Old Shop Road. Police found her walking on Route 35 and placed her in their vehicle where she was turned over to staff at the hospital.
