Laurie Ellen Keehn, a 42-year resident of Pound Ridge, died Oct. 5 from a short bout with AML leukemia. She was 73.
Born in Brooklyn to Norman and Hilda Schwimmer, she attended Tilden High School, where she was captain of the twirlers, and graduated from Queens College with a degree in physical education. She had a successful career in sales, working for a large dental supply company, a sweater manufacturer and a jewelry firm.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dennis, sons Kevin and Douglas, sister Ronnie and brother Richie, a grandson and granddaughter, and many family members.
Keehn devoted her time to many organizations including the PTA, Fox Lane Ski Club, Haddassa and Temple Beth El.
She was an avid tennis player, pickleball champ, golfer and biker.
For 40 years the family spent winters at Hunters Run Club in Boynton Beach, Fla.
