Father charged after confronting staring man at Katonah carnival

On Wednesday, June 4, at 9:39 p.m., a resident of Katonah, male, 53, was arrested  at the Katonah Fire Department Carnival after confronting another man who people had complained was staring at young women and making them uncomfortable. Police said they were on patrol at the carnival when a woman approached to tell them about the man. Police identified the man and spoke to him. They said while he hadn’t engaged in any criminal behavior, they thought he should leave. As they were escorting him from the area, the father of one of the females approached and began yelling at the man they were escorting. Police said the father was threatening and used violent language. When told to calm down, he turned his anger towards the police, they said. The police said that after the father was given multiple opportunities to calm down but didn’t, they arrested him, charging him with obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct. He was brought to headquarters for processing, and is to appear in court June 18.
