The supervisor’s tentative budget for 2027 was presented to the Town Board on Tuesday night. It has town appropriations of $11,862,672 and is under the state’s tax cap.

The budget lists projected revenues of $4,223,252, a fund balance of $420,000 and would have $7,219,420 raised by taxes.

The tentative budget will be discussed in coming weeks with town department heads. A final budget vote is expected Dec. 1.

Appropriations increased $670,500, which is about a 6.2% increase, Finance Director Steven Conti said.

“Revenues increased also about 6%, $248,000, with a 2.92% tax increase, which is below the cap,” he said. “This budget would mean an average increase per household of $87.10.”

“So, as we go into the department meetings, most of it matches pretty good,” Supervisor Kevin Hansan said.

“I’m good with it,” said Town Board member Dan Paschkes. “I think the numbers look good.”

John McCown asked why the new water district had a section in the budget, but without any numbers.

“Because it’s time to put that in to start the planning process,” Hansan answered.

The town recently formed a water district for Scotts Corners to pipe fresh water in because of contamination, but it is tied up by a court challenge.

“I want to get the books set up to make sure that we’re ready to go,” Hansan said.
