Pound Ridge Report April 15-21

Tuesday, April 15

9:00 a.m. — A caller on Cross Pond Road reported a car parked on the road they found suspicious. Police on arrival said the vehicle was legally parked and properly registered and inspected. The operator was located working at a nearby residence. 

4:15 to 5:15 p.m. — Phone and electric wires were reported down on Salem Road, Honey Hollow Road and Highview Road over the course of one hour. The utilities were notified of each location.

6:30 p.m. — A summons was issued to a driver traveling on Pound Ridge Road for driving without an inspection sticker. 


Wednesday, April 16

11:00 a.m. — A box truck said to be stuck on a lawn on London Road, tearing up the turf, was observed by police to indeed be stuck. The homeowner was on scene and informed of what was happening.  

9:25 p.m. — A driver who failed to stop at a stop sign on Salem Road was given a summons.


Thursday, April 17

6:30 a.m. — A driver who failed to produce an insurance card was issued a summons when stopped by a patrol officer on Westchester Avenue. 

11:15 a.m. — A good Samaritan came to headquarters to turn in a wallet they found on High Ridge Road. The owner of the wallet was notified and came to the station to retrieve their property. Nothing was reported missing.  

8:44 p.m. — During a radar patrol on Westchester Avenue, no summonses were issued. 

9:00 p.m. — A tree was reported blocking the roadway on Lower Shad Road. The highway department was notified.

 

Friday, April 18

9:00 a.m. — Summonses were issued to drivers traveling on Westchester Avenue: for talking or texting on their cellphones; improper plates; no registration; and failure to obey traffic signals. 

12:25 p.m. — A man, age and condition undisclosed, was transported to Stamford Hospital by Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps. 

7:25 p.m. — A traffic summons was issued to an operator traveling on Westchester Avenue for failure to obey a traffic device. 


Saturday, April 19

3:08 p.m. — A hit and run was reported on Trinity Pass Road. A report was taken by the party that was hit. 

11:00 p.m — A man, age unknown, was transported to Stamford Trauma Center by Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps for an unknown condition. 


Sunday, April 20 

7:27 a.m. — A caller on Old Round Road reported two trailers illegally parked on the roadway. Police on arrival said they were legally parked and  there was no problem. 

10:35 a.m. — A man who requested medical assistance refused treatment or transport after Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps arrived.

10:45 a.m. — Trees were reported on wires, blocking traffic on Bayberry Way. The highway department was notified. 


Monday, April 21

7:40 a.m. — A driver traveling on Westchester Avenue received a ticket for an expired inspection.
