Pound Ridge Police Report June 17-23

Tuesday, June 17

7:40 a.m. — A driver traveling on Westchester Avenue was issued a speeding ticket for going 57 mph in a 30-mph zone.

10:39 a.m. — An order of protection was issued to a Westchester Avenue resident. No further information was available. 

9:21-11:55 a.m. — Six permits for fireworks were issued to residents. 

12:05 p.m. — A hit-and-run incident was reported on Westchester Avenue. Police say no one was injured and the car that was struck did not require a tow.  

9:00 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was issued a speeding ticket for traveling 52 mph in a 30-mph zone.  


Wednesday, June 18

9:46 a.m. — A car struck a building on Westchester Avenue and then left the scene. Police were on hand afterwards to take pictures.  

10:15 a.m -3:53 p.m. — Six permits for fireworks were issued to residents. 

3:45 p.m. — A two-car collision on Westchester Avenue resulted in no injuries and no tow.  

8:10 p.m. — Property damage was reported following a one-car collision on Long Ridge Road. The car was towed from the scene. No one was injured.  


Thursday, June 19

12:18 a.m. — A utility pole on fire was reported on Long Ridge Road. Pound Ridge firefighters arrived on scene to extinguish the fire. The utility was notified. 

11:12 a.m. — A car reported to be blocking traffic on Honey Hollow Road was gone prior to police arrival.  

3:45 p.m. — Phone wires were reported down and in the roadway on Cross Pond Road. The utility was notified.  


Friday, June 20

6:20 a.m. — A tree was reported blocking the roadway on Major Lockwood Road. The highway department was notified to remove it. 

7:25 a.m. — The highway department responded to a tree reported down and blocking the flow of traffic on Cross Pond Road. 

10:05 a.m — The highway department was dispatched to a location on Old Stone Hill Road after wires were reported down. The utility was notified. 

10:20 a.m. — Police went to Horseshoe Hill Road after a caller said the road was blocked. They couldn’t find any problem. 

12:00 p.m. — A driver traveling on Westchester Avenue was issued two summonses for improper plates and not having a valid inspection sticker.  

6:56 p.m. — A domestic incident was reported at an address on High Ridge Road. No further information was available.  


Saturday, June 21

11:50 a.m. — A mental health incident was reported at an address on Lower Shad Road. No details were provided.  

1:07 p.m. — A driver traveling on Westchester Avenue was given a speeding ticket for traveling 65 mph in a 30-mph zone.  

8:03 p.m. — A driver was issued a ticket on Salem Road for failing to stop for a stop sign.  


Sunday, June 22 

10:08 a.m. — A driver was given a speeding ticket on Westchester Avenue for doing 51 mph in a 30-mph zone.  

12:45 p.m. — A dog reported loose on Old Mill River Road was gone when police came to look for it.  

5:00 p.m. — A male, age and condition unknown, was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital by Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.  


Monday, June 23 

7:08 am - 7:54 a.m. — Ten permits were issued to residents for fireworks.   

7:39 a.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was given a speeding ticket for doing 54 mph in a 30-mph zone.
