Farm stand honor system comes up short
On Tuesday, Aug. 12, at 4 p.m., a complainant who runs an honor system fruit and produce stand on Pound Ridge Road reported someone took food they didn’t pay for. They said a price list is provided and a jar for cash payment but at the end of the day, things didn’t add up. A report was made.
Police: Keep dogs leashed if electric fence is faulty
On Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 1 p.m., police followed two dogs reported loose on Westchester Avenue to their home. Police spoke with the owner who said there was a problem with their electric fence. Police advised them to keep the dogs leashed until the fence was repaired.
Tuesday, Aug. 12
9:00 a.m. — Trespass was reported on Eastwoods Road when it was discovered someone had installed both a salt lick and a surveillance camera on private property.
9:15 a.m. — Police were on scene as Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported a female, age and condition unknown, to Northern Westchester Hospital.
2:25 p.m. — Police responded to an address on Trinity Pass Road for a report of illegal use of gas leaf blowers but couldn’t find any violators.
4:10 p.m. — A driver traveling on Long Ridge Road was given a ticket for disobeying a traffic device.
Wednesday, Aug. 13
11:40 a.m. — A disabled vehicle reported blocking traffic on Long Ridge Road was assisted by a call for tow.
2:50 p.m. — Two speeders traveling on Westchester Avenue were issued tickets: one for going 52 mph, the other 51 mph in a 30-mph zone.
Thursday, Aug. 14
7:00 a.m. — A disabled dump truck reported blocking traffic on Horseshoe Hill Road was removed by tow and the road cleared.
5:15 p.m. — A man reported as suspicious on Westchester Avenue was gone prior to police arrival. Why he was thought to be suspicious was not included in the report.
6:25 p.m. — A male, age and condition unknown, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital.
7:35 p.m. — Three summonses were issued to a driver on Long Ridge Road: one ticket was for driving without a valid license; no inspection sticker; and traveling with improper plates.
Friday, Aug. 15
10:30 p.m. — A radar detail on Westchester Avenue yielded no violaters.
Saturday, Aug. 16
9:50 a.m. — A driver traveling on Westchester Avenue was given a ticket for driving and using their cellphone.
11:10 a.m. — A driver on High Ridge Road was given a ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign.
Sunday, Aug. 17
5:45 p.m. — A tow truck was summoned for a disabled vehicle on Salem Road.
8:30 p.m. — A female, age and condition unknown, was taken from her home to Northern Westchester Hospital by Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
Monday, Aug. 18
9:45 a.m. — A tree reported on wires along Upper Shad was removed by the highway department. The utility was notified.
11:40 a.m. — A medical alert from a resident on Honey Hollow Road was set off in error.
12:35 p.m. — A male, age and condition unknown, was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital by Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
4:30 p.m. — Loose dogs were reported on Westchester Avenue. Police couldn’t find them.
Tuesday, Aug. 19
9:25 a.m. — A female, age and condition unknown, was transported by Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Northern Westchester Hospital.
12:35 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was given a ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign.
