POUND RIDGE 

Tuesday, Sept. 23

10:48 a.m. — A male, age and condition undisclosed, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Vista firefighters. 

11:30 a.m. — Westchester EMS and Vista fire personnel attended to a man reported ill who decided he didn’t want to go to the hospital and refused further treatment. 

1:45 p.m. — A driver traveling on Westchester Avenue was issued a ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign.  

4:35 p.m. — Police responding to a complaint of reckless driving on Long Ridge Road couldn’t locate the source of the complaint.  

5:12 p.m. — A driver traveling on Salem Road was issued a ticket for failure to obey a traffic device.  

Wednesday, Sept. 24

1:55 a.m. — A man declined further medical attention after being attended to at his home by the Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.  

8:42 a.m. — A disabled car on Long Ridge Road was assisted out of the roadway by police who also set out flares until tow arrived.  

9:13 a.m. — A female, age and condition unknown, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by the Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

11:48 a.m. — A woman, age and condition undisclosed, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by the Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.  

1:05 p.m. — Police responding to a report of illegal gas blower use on Gorge Lane said no one was violating any ordinances.  

3:32 p.m. — The owner of a dog reported loose on Westchester Avenue came to headquarters to retrieve their animal.  

8:15 p.m. — A person locked out of their car on Westchester Avenue was assisted by police.  

Thursday, Sept. 25

7:36 a.m. — A tree reported down and blocking the flow of traffic on Indian Hill Road was cleared by the highway department.  

11:09 a.m. — After someone complained about the way a driver parked their car on Westchester Avenue to police, the driver moved their car.  

Friday, Sept. 26 

3:03 p.m. — Police went to an address on Eastwoods Road after a caller complained of landscapers working in the area using gas-powered leaf blowers. The grass was already cut on their arrival and no blowers were being used. 

5:45 p.m. — Six summonses were issued to the operator of a commercial trailer traveling on Salem Road including improper license to operate, loose cargo and a problem with headlamps.  

Saturday, Sept. 27

9:47 a.m. — A driver on Salem Road was given a ticket for failure to stop a stop sign.  

10:20 a.m. — A driver with an out-of-date inspection sticker was given a ticket on Westchester Avenue.  

10:30 a.m. — An animal bite form was filled out for the Westchester County Health Department after someone on Shad Road West reported being bitten by a dog.  

11:37 a.m. — A complaint about gas leaf blowers on Old Pound Road was unfounded.  

1:56 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a suspicious woman walking on Westchester Avenue. The woman said she didn’t need any help and kept on walking.  

6:41 p.m. — A parking ticket was issued to someone illegally parked on Westchester Avenue.  

7:20 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was issued a speeding ticket for traveling 54 mph in a 30-mph zone.  

8:10 p.m. — Two different drivers who failed to stop at a stop sign on Westchester Avenue were giving tickets.  

Sunday, Sept. 28

12:10 a.m. — A female was taken by the Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps to NWHC for an unknown condition.  

6:55 a.m. — A male was taken to Stamford Hospital by the Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps for an unknown condition.  

1:15 p.m. — A skunk reported behaving strangely on Pettit Lane ran into the woods before police could determine if it was rabid or sick.  

1:18 p.m. — A resident on Robin Hood Lane reported someone struck their  mailbox. A report was made.  

2:46 p.m. — A man was transported to Stamford Hospital by the Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.  

9:00 p.m. — A driver doing 55 mph in a 30-mph zone was picked up on radar on Westchester Avenue and issued a speeding ticket.  

9:41 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was given a summons for failure to stop at the stop sign. 

BEDFORD

Monday, Sept. 22

8:42 a.m — A fawn was reported following teachers around at the Landmark Preschool in Bedford. Police spoke with an employee of the school who said they put the fawn in the playground area to keep it from wandering into the roadway. The employee was already in touch with a wildlife rescue who said they were on their way to get the youngster. 


Tuesday, Sept. 23

10:12 a.m. — A caller on Babbitt Road, Bedford Hills, complained someone was using a gas leaf blower at Fellowship Hall. Police said no landscapers were observed working and advised the caller that multifamily properties are exempt from the ordinance. 

11:55 a.m. — Detectives are investigating a fraud/extortion incident involving a minor male. The boy said he sent photos of himself and explicit texts to a girl he was flirting with online; soon after she demanded he send her money in the form of gift cards or she would send the photos to all his friends. He did as she requested but she demanded more. At this point he had to tell his parents who brought him to headquarters.


Wednesday, Sept. 24

6:09 a.m. — A male, 38, from Bedford, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Bedford firefighters after complaining of arm pain.  

1:54 p.m. — A female, 93, from Bedford Hills,  was taken by Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Northern Westchester Hospital after her daughter called for help as her mother, who is in hospice, said she wanted to go to the hospital.  

4:28 p.m. — A female, 39, from Bedford, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Bedford firefighters after her landlord told police she was experiencing a manic episode. He showed them a video of her damaging his property when she cut power to an electrical panel. She told police she thought her computer was being hacked which is why she cut the power. She agreed to transport. A report of property damage was made for her landlord.  

10:01 p.m. — A Bedford Hills man complained about his neighbor on Rome Avenue. He said the neighbor was vulgar and spoke rudely to him outside their building. Police spoke with the other party who said the complainant was the vulgar one. They were advised to not speak to one another. 


Thursday, Sept. 25

12:17 p.m. — A Bedford man requested police assistance retrieving his personal belongings from a garage. 

3:43 p.m. — A Bedford woman came to headquarters to report issues with her mom. She told police she believes her mother is using illicit drugs. 


Friday, Sept. 26

8:54 p.m. — A female, 65 from Bedford Hills was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by the Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps after falling in her kitchen.  

8:55 p.m. — Police went to the home of a man in Bedford Hills after his nephew notified police he was unable to make contact. The nephew said he was concerned for his uncle’s welfare but also wanted police to relay news to the man of his mother’s passing. The resident answered the door and told police he’d turned off his phone.  


Saturday, Sept. 27

12:27 p.m. — Two men reported as suspicious on Greenville Road, Katonah, for talking to a boy on bicycle were located by police. One of the men said he was the boy’s grandfather. Police said there was no problem.  

12:59 p.m. — Police responded to the parking lot of the Bedford Diner on Bedford Road, Bedford Hills, for a report of a car falling on a person. They spoke to a man who said he’d been under his car looking at something when the car rolled forward. He was slightly injured with minor scratches. The man, 54, from Glendale, declined medical attention. A report was made of the incident.  

1:13 p.m. — A report of a baby left alone in the back seat of a black Toyota parked on Katonah Avenue, Katonah, turned out to be unfounded. An adult was also in the back seat that the caller didn’t notice.  

3:15 p.m. — A woman reported in need of assistance walking northbound on Old Post Road told police she was out taking a walk and didn’t need assistance.  


Sunday, Sept. 28

9:48 a.m. — Four kids riding mopeds were reported on Cherry Street. Police located them on Bedford Road speeding and riding mini dirt bikes. They were stopped and identified; all are local minors. They told police they were on their way to McDonalds. They were advised that their bikes had no license plates and weren’t street legal and were escorted to a parking lot in Bedford Hills to wait for their parents. Parents arrived and were instructed to take their kids and their bikes home. All parties were given informational packets regarding the legality of dirt bikes on public roadways.  

1:24 p.m. — A dog reported jumping out of the window of a moving car traveling over the Jay Street overpass in Katonah was rescued by an off-duty Bedford police officer and the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. A motorboat was used to retrieve the dog, which had jumped into the reservoir, swam across it and was stranded on the other side. Police said the golden retriever wasn’t injured.  

LEWISBORO

Woman threatens to break a wine bottle over partner’s head 

On Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 1:40 p.m., police went to the home of a South Salem couple after the husband reported his wife threatened to hit him with a wine bottle. Police said there was no evidence of broken bottles although he did say she hit him, prompting him to call 911. She said she had to leave to go to work. A New York state domestic incident report was completed. 

Monday, Sept. 22

12:42 p.m. — A woman was reported asking for money and food on the corner of North Street and the entrance to the ACME Markets in Goldens Bridge. Police saw her holding a sign; she was uncooperative when they attempted to speak with her and left the area. 

4:55 p.m. — A driver was taken to a Connecticut hospital for minor bleeding from the head after he drove his car off the road on Smith Ridge Road, South Salem. He told police he was overwhelmed by fatigue. Airbags were deployed and the car was towed for front-end damage. 

9:45 p.m. — A Goldens Bridge woman who lives with her parents told police about a considerably older man she once worked with keeps coming around her Goldens Bridge home although they are no longer friends. A month ago he left a gift at her door and continues to lurk around, she told police. Police contacted him at her request and told him to stay away. 

Tuesday, Sept. 23

12:04 p.m. — Police and Vista firefighters went to a home in South Salem to assist an elderly female who fell in the bathtub. No further assistance was needed. 

3:45 p.m. — A man was arrested and charged with trespassing after police went to Lambert Ridge Road for a report of a suspicious man knocking on doors. They found him and he presented a Connecticut driver’s license. Police said he was wanted on a warrant for criminal trespass. He was taken to headquarters for processing.  

Wednesday, Sept. 24 

1:20 p.m. — Police pulled over a driver on Route 35 near Route 121 for a darkly tinted windshield. The operator said he had no driver’s license but provided his name. A check came back that his license was suspended 31 times. His passenger had a valid license and was allowed to keep the car. The driver was taken to headquarters for processing and received multiple tickets for unlicensed operation, non-transparent windshield, lack of an inspection sticker and burning cannabis while operating a motor vehicle. 

8:15 p.m. — A woman who has an order of protection against a former boyfriend told police he was skulking around her Beekman Lane residence in Goldens Bridge and parking within 500 feet of her building. Police looked for his car, described as a gray Honda with darkly tinted windows. They didn’t find it.  

Thursday, Sept. 25

7:15 a.m. — Police went to a group home on Route 123 in South Salem to assist a man who said another resident threw him off the bed. One person was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital complaining of back and shoulder pain. 

1:22 p.m. — A traffic stop on Route 123 in South Salem for an obscured paper license plate resulted in the arrest of a man who police said has no driver’s licence or registration for the vehicle he was driving. All the paperwork he presented appeared to have been created by a forger. He is to appear in court Oct. 27. 

Friday, Sept. 26 

1:30 p.m. — Westchester EMS and the Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps took a Goldens Bridge woman appearing to be having a heart attack to a hospital.

2:50 p.m. — The Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps took a man who thought he might be having a heart attack to Northern Westchester Hospital from his Katonah home. 

4:38 p.m. — Police went to the home on Sullivan Road, North Salem, to give the resident  a ticket for not licensing his dog. He was also issued a ticket to appear in court, apparently for another incident. 

Saturday, Sept. 27

6:23 p.m. — A woman reported walking towards Connecticut with a crowbar in her hand was located carrying an umbrella at routes 35 and 123. She said she was fine and didn’t need police assistance. 

Sunday, Sept. 28

8:05 p.m. — Domestic issues were reported at a home on Silvermine Drive, South Salem. When police arrived, they found the home vacant. Dispatch directed them next to go to an address on Elmwood Road where they were met with a man who said it was a mistake he’d called police and he didn’t want their assistance. A New York state domestic incident report was completed nonetheless. 

MOUNT KISCO

Friday, Sept. 19 

3:42 p.m. — Two men were charged with second-degree burglary, a felony, after they entered an apartment on Carpenter Avenue and attempted to steal an Apple watch from a home health aide, police said. The aide told police that the two men walked into the apartment through an unlocked front door about 12:15 p.m. and one of them took the watch off the couch. When the aide confronted him, he put the watch down and the men left the premises. The incident was not reported to police until more than three hours later. Officers canvassed the area, located two men fitting the description provided by the aide and detained them until they were positively identified by her as the persons who entered the residence. The two men, 23 and 37 years old, were arraigned in Mount Kisco Justice Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail.

Saturday, Sept. 20

5:39 p.m. — The Real Time Crime Center broadcast an alert that a white van reported stolen in Peekskill earlier in the day was being operated on Preston Way. Patrol officers quickly located the van, which was parked near Target, and detained three people found in the vehicle. After an investigation, a 38-year-old Ossining man was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, a misdemeanor. He was booked at the Green Street precinct and released pending an Oct. 9 appearance in village court.

8:43 p.m. — A 46-year-old man was charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct, both violations, after he refused to leave a North Moger Avenue store at management’s request. When officers arrived, they attempted to escort the man from the store but he began flailing his arms and continued to refuse verbal directives to leave the premises. He was taken into custody and issued summonses at the Green Street precinct returnable to village court on Oct. 9. The Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the man to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation due to his intoxication.

Sunday, Sept. 21

4:55 a.m. — Officers responded to a Lexington Avenue residence after a 911 hang-up call was received. They spoke with a man who said he was intoxicated and needed to go to the hospital. Westchester EMS transported him to Northern Westchester Hospital.

1:07 p.m. — A trespass warning was issued to a 43-year-old Indiana man after he behaved erratically at a South Moger Avenue business. Staff reported that a man had entered the store several times and behaved oddly, including lying down on the floor or entering an employee-restricted area. Officers canvassed the area, located the man and issued the trespass warning. The man was advised he would face arrest if he returned to the store. 

4:58 p.m. — Officers responded to Langeland Drive after a 911 hang-up call was received. Officers spoke with a woman who said she dialed 911 during a dispute with her boyfriend because she wanted to be removed from the residence. She was taken to the Green Street precinct where she said the dispute was verbal in nature. She then said she was feeling depressed and asked to be taken to the hospital. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported her to Northern Westchester Hospital. A domestic incident report was prepared. 

5:55 p.m. — An officer observed a man sitting on a curb and drinking beer on the 600 block of East Main Street. The man, 45, was issued a summons for consumption of alcohol in public, a violation. He is due in Mount Kisco Justice Court on Oct. 9.

Wednesday, Sept. 24

7:10 p.m. — Staff at Target on North Bedford Road reported that a larceny and attempted larceny of beauty products had just occurred at the store. A large bag containing $1,663 worth of merchandise was recovered from one shoplifting suspect but another ran out with an estimated $1,800 worth of merchandise. The two suspects fled in a Lexus sedan with Connecticut plates, but officers were unable to locate it. The plates were subsequently determined to be fraudulent. The case was turned over to detectives for continued investigation.

Thursday, Sept. 25

12:55 p.m. — Police investigated a report of a woman making 30 to 40 phone calls daily to an East Main Street business without any clear purpose. An investigation determined they were coming from a Bedford residence and were possibly being made by a person suffering from dementia. Bedford Police made a welfare check at the residence and contacted family members in hopes of stopping the calls.

1:46 p.m. — Officers responded to an Amuso Drive residence to help a youth in an emotional crisis. The youth agreed to go to Northern Westchester Hospital for mental health services. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps provided assistance and transport.

8:03 p.m. — A request was received for a welfare check at a Carpenter Avenue residence. Officers were unable to make contact with the resident and requested the building superintendent let them into the apartment. A 68-year-old woman was found deceased of apparent natural causes.
