Police Reports Pound Ridge, Bedford, Lewisboro Nov. 11-17, 2025

POUND RIDGE

Tuesday, Nov. 11

11:20 a.m. — A caller on Hack Green Road reported two loose dogs. Police said their owner retrieved them prior to their arrival.  

12:45 p.m. — A person was taken by Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Danbury Hospital.   

4:03 -5:29 p.m. — Wires were reported down on Honey Hollow Road, South Bedford Road and High Ridge Road. Utilities were notified.  

Wednesday, Nov. 12 

8:35 a.m. — A one-car crash on Upper Shad Road resulted in no injuries and no tow.  

8:30 a.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue received a summons for disobeying a traffic device.  

7:25 a.m. — No information was shared regarding a suspicious incident on Pound Ridge Road. 

1:35 p.m. — A woman was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Thursday, Nov. 13

8:05 a.m. — A woman was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital by Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

12:01 p.m. — A Stone Hill Road man told police his credit monitoring service advised him that an unknown party attempted to secure two loans using his information. The fraud was flagged by his bank and the loans denied. A report was made for documentation. 

12:10 p.m. — Police assisted a driver with getting their disabled vehicle reported on Stone Hill Road to a service station.  

3:25 p.m. — Police looked for a car that was reported stopped and not moving in the middle of Stone Hill Road. They couldn’t find it.  

5:15 p.m. — No violations were observed during a traffic enforcement on Westchester Avenue.  

5:41 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue was given a ticket for going 51 mph in a 30-mph zone.   

6:46 p.m. — Firefighters from Pound Ridge, Bedford Hills, Bedford, Stamford, South Salem and Long Ridge Road responded to a fire in the walls of a home on Upper Shad Road. Police said the fire was contained and extinguished.  

Friday, Nov. 14 

5:40 a.m. — A driver who failed to stop for a stop sign was given a summons on Westchester Avenue.  

10:05 a.m. — No violations were observed during a traffic detail on Westchester Avenue. 

11:45 a.m. — A one-car crash on Lyndel Road resulted in no injuries and no tow. 

3:30 p.m. — A one-car crash on Fancher Road resulted in no injuries and no tow. 

Saturday, Nov. 15

7:30 a.m. — A woman who requested an ambulance changed her mind and refused medical attention after it arrived.  

10:25 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue got a speeding ticket for going 45 mph in a 30-mph zone.  

9:16 p.m. — A driver on Westchester Avenue got two tickets: one for speeding and the second for failure to signal.  

Sunday, Nov. 16

1:50 p.m. — A two-car collision on High Ridge Road resulted in no injuries and neither car was towed.  

Monday, Nov. 17

9:00 a.m. — A radar patrol on Westchester Avenue yielded four summonses issued to drivers for speeding, invalid insurance and no inspection sticker.  


BEDFORD

Wine cellar door no better with age 

12:00 a.m. — On Saturday, Nov. 15, at 12 a.m., police went to a residence in Bedford to assist a man locked inside his basement wine cellar. Unable to open the door, his wife called the police for assistance. On arrival officers saw the knob was faulty but were able to manipulate it and free the man.  

Monday, Nov. 10

11:36 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a capsized rowboat in the vicinity of Upper Hook Road and Route 121. Police saw it right side up and full of water. Police believe it became free from its mooring and drifted during a storm. The New York City Department of Environmental Protection was notified.  

1:23 p.m. — A Bedford woman came to headquarters to report an incident that happened at her son’s medical appointment in Cortlandt Manor. She said her husband created a scene, chastising her and belittling her in the waiting room. A New York state domestic incident was completed on her behalf.  

Tuesday, Nov. 11

12:41 p.m. — A male resident of an assisted living facility in Katonah, 65, was taken by Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Northern Westchester Hospital after he was mistakenly given the wrong medication. A staff member, who told police this is what happened, reported him breathing but unresponsive in his bed.  

5:20 p.m. — A Bedford mother called the police to report her son, 27, was driving in a manic state when he left her home. Police pinged his car in Connecticut, where his mother said he likes to visit the casino. She said she would call them back if she was unable to get in touch with him.  

Wednesday, Nov. 12

3:30 p.m. — Teens driving recklessly on dirt bikes were reported in the vicinity of Greenville and Anderson roads, Katonah. Police said the teens were gone on their arrival.  

Thursday, Nov. 13

9:02 a.m. — A caller reported two cars pulling abruptly into a parking lot in Bedford. She said two men exited the cars and darted off through the Village Green to an unknown destination. Police located the described vehicles and said they were legally parked and their registrations valid.    

9:42 a.m. — A Bedford Hills woman, 67, contacted police for a lift assist. She was on the floor when police arrived. She was evaluated by a  Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps medic who had her transported to Northern Westchester Hospital for elevated blood pressure.  

9:27 p.m. — A resident of The Mews, Bedford Hills, reported he was being harassed by a plumber who performed work in his unit; the plumber was harassing him for money when the bill was meant to be paid by the man’s landlord. The plumber threatened to return to the unit to dismantle the job he’d done. Police intervened and spoke with the plumber who was made to understand it was the landlord who agreed to pay for the work, not the tenant. He was strongly advised to leave the tenant alone and pursue civil action with the landlord. The tenant was advised to call the police if the plumber continued to harass him. 

9:38 p.m. — A smoking dryer brought police to a residence on Bedford Road. Bedford Hills firefighters responded and said there was no fire and no further action was taken.  

Friday, Nov. 14

9:02 a.m. — Altered checks were red flagged by a local bank after Bedford vendors reported they’d not received payment from the town’s financial department for their services. Police believe the checks were stolen from the Bedford Hills post office after they’d been dropped off. Police said the town was not defrauded. Postal inspectors are investigating.  

10:32 a.m. — A caller from The Farms reported his dog was attacked in Bedford Village Memorial Park by one of two unleashed dogs. His wife was in the park walking their dog on leash when she saw another woman walking a large dog and a smaller dog off leash. The large dog ran towards her and attacked her dog. A witness helped the two women separate the dogs. The reporting party’s dog was rushed to the vet to be treated for multiple puncture wounds and lacerations. The identity of the other woman is unknown. The dog control officer is investigating. 

Saturday, Nov. 15

8:30 p.m. — A court-ordered mandate to stay away was issued to a Bedford man who has a counter-order in place against his accuser. His former girlfriend came to headquarters to request he be served. Police found numerous errors in her paperwork including incorrectly spelled names and addresses. After a conversation with the district attorney’s office, police agreed to serve the man at his residence. He allowed them in and accepted the order which demands he not harass, threaten or intimidate his former partner or attempt to contact her in any way including social media. He surrendered to police all weapons he had in his possession and was issued copies of the paperwork. 

Sunday, Nov. 16

7:00 a.m. — A woman who became upset during a service at St. Patrick’s Church in Bedford resulted in police being called for her disruptive behavior; she told an officer the incense used during the service was activating her allergies. Police suggested she find another place to worship or attend only services where no incense is burning.  

1:26 p.m. — Police went to a restaurant in Bedford after an employee reported an unruly customer who disputed the bill. The individual in question was no longer on the premises when police arrived.

5:22 p.m. — A toddler who became locked in a bathroom at their Bedford home was fine and happy when police arrived to unlock the door.   


LEWISBORO

Bust at smoke shop 

On Thursday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m., a large quantity of what was said to be THC marijuana product was seized by the New York State Office of Cannabis Management from a smoke shop in Goldens Bridge. Local police assisted. A representative from the state said the agency had been notified the shop was selling marijuana illegally. The product seized was sent to Albany to be valued and weighed, the representative said. 

Monday, Nov. 10

9:30 a.m. — A South Salem woman came to headquarters to report her partner with whom she has a strained relationship threatened to leave the country, abandoning her and their children. She said she knew where his passport was but did not want to help him find it. Police said she was advised she had no right to withhold the passport. Police said there was no active order of protection against the man.  

10:40 a.m. — A South Salem man came to the police requesting help dealing with his son, 32. The father claimed his son is mentally ill and keeps texting him. The son told police he would stop trying to connect with his dad. 

6:33 p.m. — A woman was found by police lying on the ground at the Goldens Bridge train station passed out from intoxication. Nearby was a half empty bottle of vodka and empty beer cans. She was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Tuesday, Nov. 11

6:05 p.m. — A driver traveling east on Route 35, Cross River, told police a deer jumped out in front of her vehicle and she hit it. 

Wednesday, Nov. 12

11:45 a.m. — Police went to a tennis club in South Salem after a man was reported unresponsive. Vista EMS was already performing CPR when police arrived. The man’s friend said they were playing tennis when the man bent down to pick up a tennis ball and struck his head on a pole attached to the net, causing a laceration to his forehead. He soon began slurring his speech and became unresponsive. He was taken to Norwalk Hospital by Vista EMS where he was pronounced dead. 

3:25 p.m. — A woman who fell in a parking lot in Goldens Bridge said she fell or tripped on a curb. She was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps for abrasions to her knee and a bruised forehead. 

Thursday, Nov. 13

2:05 p.m. — Police assisted a man with an active order of protection against him at his former home in Goldens Bridge; he was there to collect some belongings. He asked if he could leave a birthday present for his child. His wife said the gift could be left on a table. Police said there was nothing further and escorted the man from the house. 

6:11 p.m. — A woman who arrived by taxi to Four Winds Hospital with no documentation and unable to identify herself told police she didn’t know her address or where she came from. She asked to go to a hospital as she felt unwell. Westchester EMS found hospital paperwork indicating she’d been released from Putnam Hospital that day. She was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation after police learned her name. 

Friday, Nov. 14 

1:28 p.m. — A man came to headquarters with three handguns that previously belonged to his father, recently deceased. The guns were taken into safekeeping until the son obtains a state pistol permit. 

9:45 p.m. — Police parked for awhile at Cameron’s Deli after someone reported teens congregating. 

Saturday, Nov. 15 

8:51 a.m. — A space heater caused a smoke condition in a bathroom at a home on West Meadow Drive, Goldens Bridge. The house was evacuated. Goldens Bridge firefighters arrived. Police said the home was not damaged. The space heater was removed as a precaution. 

1:45 p.m. — A poorly secured ladder that flew off a white box truck traveling east on Route 35 near John Jay High School struck a Putnam Valley school bus resulting in damage to the windshield and a mirror. The bus was taking a dozen students from Putnam Valley to a volleyball game. The operator of the box truck did not stop. No students were injured. The driver of the school bus sustained a minor injury but declined medical attention. 

Sunday, Nov. 16

1:11 p.m. — A tree was reported down and blocking Increase Miller Road and Route 138, Katonah. Goldens Bridge firefighters arrived and removed the tree.
