BEDFORD
Misconduct involving meatloaf
On Monday, Nov. 17, at 1:04 p.m., residents of Greenwich Road, Bedford, reported that an unknown party drove into their driveway and threw food on the hood and windshield of their parked vehicles, then drove off. Police said it appeared the thrown food was meatloaf. No cameras were on the property. A report was made for documentation.
Monday Nov. 17
12:39 p.m. — A driver traveling on Crusher Road, Bedford, was not issued a citation after his car drove into a utility pole. He told the police he wasn’t sure what happened. His car was towed by AAA. No injuries were reported and the utility was notified.
3:04 p.m. — A resident of Stamford, Conn., male, 38, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by the Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps for facial lacerations sustained after a mattress he was delivering to a residence in Katonah struck a light fixture going up stairs. The fixture imploded, sending shards of glass into his face.
Tuesday, Nov. 18
8:21 a.m. — Neighbors who don’t get along were visited by police after one of them reported the other wouldn’t get off his property. The caller reported his neighbor standing in his driveway asking about a package delivered to the wrong address. He was gone on police arrival but when police spoke with him he said his wife sent him to ask about the package. Police said the two men should stay away from each other and if a package arrives incorrectly delivered, contact should be made only by phone text.
4:43 p.m. — A caller who reported some weeks ago her daughter was bitten by an unfriendly black cat reported the cat had returned to her yard and continued to be unfriendly. A Havahart trap was placed by the dog control officer near the caller’s back door where the cat appears. The caller said she would let them know if the cat is trapped.
Wednesday, Nov. 19
4:39 p.m. — A bow-and-arrow hunter was reported entering private property in Bedford Village. Police went to the location described but saw no one.
8:53 p.m. — A resident of Bedford Hills, male, 67, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by the Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps after he fell at home and couldn’t get up.
Thursday Nov. 20
8:46 a.m. — A Katonah man came to headquarters after his bank notified him regarding what they believed to be a fraudulent check. They showed him the check and what was supposed to be his signature; someone tried to cash the check which he said he didn’t write. The man said he was not out any money and requested only a report for documentation.
11:26 a.m. — A homeowner on Locksley Lane, Bedford Hills, reported a man and woman on video trespassing on her property and coming onto her back patio. Two officers went to the address but the couple was gone. Nothing appeared damaged or out of order. The caller contacted police later to say she recognized the couple as her landscapers and there was no problem.
Friday, Nov. 21
6:02 p.m. — Two cars were involved in a collision in Bedford Hills when one driver exiting the Saw Mill River Parkway went into the wrong lane and drove into another car driving on Bedford Road. The first driver, a woman from Katonah, who police said caused the crash, was given a citation for expired inspection. Her car was towed. The other driver, a woman from Mount Kisco, did not require a tow. No injuries were reported.
8:57 p.m. — A man experiencing emotional distress was left in the care of the Westchester County Crisis Prevention and Response Team after police arrived.
Saturday, Nov. 22
8:28 a.m. — Police were asked to check on the welfare of a man said to be “not looking good” and asleep behind the wheel of his parked car at a gas station on Haines Road, Katonah. Police saw him leaning on the steering wheel, apparently asleep. He woke up and identified himself and said he was resting as he’d worked all night. A check of his information revealed he was wanted on a warrant out of Georgia, but as there was no extradition order, police let him go. They said there was no sign of intoxication or other impairment.
9:48 a.m. — Documentation was requested regarding an incident inside Wallauer Paint & Hardware on Bedford Road, Bedford Hills. A married couple came in; employees said they were irate and belligerent about some free curtain samples provided by the store. After causing a disturbance, the couple left the premises.
LEWISBORO
A good deed for someone in need
On Tuesday, Nov. 18,at 5:50 p.m., a man reported seeking food at the St. Paul’s Church door in South Salem told police there was a misunderstanding and he was looking for a ride to Ridgefield, Conn., to purchase food with his electronic benefits transfer card. He mentioned he was diabetic and felt lightheaded and hadn’t eaten in two days. He declined an ambulance and did not have a ride. To ease his hunger, the officer brought him some grilled chicken a short time later.
Monday, Nov. 17
8:55 a.m. — Burglary was reported at a home on Old Church Lane, South Salem. The reporting party said it happened in the past. No further information was disclosed as the incident is under investigation.
7:50 p.m. — A deer and a driver collided on Route 35 in the westbound lane. No injuries were reported and the car was towed from the scene.
9:10 p.m. — A citizen came to headquarters to report he’d been notified by the DMV that a vehicle he purchased on Facebook Marketplace at a nearby gas station had a title problem. Police referred the citizen to Ridgefield Police.
Tuesday, Nov. 18
12:25 p.m. — Police went to a pharmacy in Cross River after a man was reported collapsing and losing consciousness. He was revived on police arrival and told Westchester EMS medics he had a stent. He was taken to Danbury Hospital for evaluation.
Wednesday, Nov. 19
12:39 p.m. — A hunter who employs a drone was reported by a homeowner on Todd Road, Goldens Bridge. The owner said he doesn’t mind that the man is hunting on his property but objects to the use of the drone, which he said is not legal to use while hunting and an invasion of the homeowner’s property. Police told the homeowner how to contact the Department of Environmental Conservation.
3:00 p.m. — A handler and the K-9 officer Zane were at the John Jay Middle School Animal Care Club for a demonstration.
Thursday, Nov. 20
9:15 p.m. — Police went to a home in South Salem after a mother reported an issue with her son, 32. Her son volunteered to be transported to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation.
Friday, Nov. 21
7:25 a.m. — A resident of Mark Mead Road, Cross River, reported receiving a suspicious package with no return address. They said they opened it and then threw the contents out on their lawn. A report was made for documentation.
2:22 p.m. — A Waccabuc resident reported his son’s longtime prescription for Ativan was missing five pills when he went to refill the medication. The physician’s office required a police report before they would write a new prescription.
3:25 p.m. — A child who fell at the shopping center in Cross River and was bleeding from the head was being looked at by police when his father said he did not want medical treatment.
Saturday, Nov. 22
4:25 p.m. — A fire reported in the woods behind Post Office Road, Waccabuc, turned out to be a legal fire in a firepit on Waccabuc River Road.
9:14 p.m. — A caller reported a collision on Route 35. They said there was a Toyota Corolla parked on the edge of the roadway. Police went to the location but saw no car or evidence of a collision.
Sunday, Nov. 23
8:02 p.m. — A caller reported someone entering the Lewisboro Library which was closed. They said they saw the doors opening and then someone going inside. Police searched the premises and said there was no sign of entry or anyone in the building.
MOUNT KISCO
Sunday, Nov. 16
3:26 p.m. — Staff at the Mount Kisco Library reported that an apparently intoxicated man was asleep on the premises. An officer woke the man up to escort him from the facility and requested EMS due to the man’s high level of intoxication. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the man to the hospital for evaluation.
9:06 p.m. — An officer responded and requested EMS after a report of a man who fell in Kirby Plaza. The man was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation.
9:41 p.m. — A complaint was received regarding an illegally parked vehicle at Lexington and Gregory avenues. A summons was issued.
Monday, Nov. 17
12:16 p.m. — An employee at a North Bedford Road business reported that he had been threatened by another employee during a dispute over lateness to work. He also alleged that the other man had damaged some property. The complainant asked for a report to be prepared but did not want to pursue criminal charges.
4:07 p.m. — Report of roofing material falling from a structure on South Moger Avenue. The Mount Kisco Fire Department responded to assess the condition on the roof.
8:09 p.m. — An officer on patrol observed a man trying to help another man up off the ground near Main Street and Lexington Avenue. The man who was being assisted was unable to stand on his own despite help from the passerby and the officer. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the individual to the hospital.
Tuesday, Nov. 18
2:28 a.m. — An officer on patrol observed a man who had fallen in Kirby Plaza having difficulty getting to his feet. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the man to the hospital for evaluation.
7:19 a.m. — A Parkway Place woman reported that someone had stolen the catalytic converter off her car overnight. A responding officer determined that while the cover of the device was hanging off, the catalytic converter was still in place.
4:15 p.m. — Police received a report of an unattended vehicle partially blocking the entrance lane to the southbound Saw Mill River Parkway at Kisco Avenue. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
8:33 p.m. — Officers responded to Main Street and South Bedford Road following an auto accident with injuries. All parties in the two vehicles involved in the collision declined medical attention. The incident was reclassified as a property damage incident. A report was prepared.
9:21 p.m. — A complaint was lodged regarding loud noise from an apartment on Kiscona Road. The condition was corrected.
Wednesday, Nov. 19
1:18 a.m. — An officer responded to Laurel Drive on a report of a man screaming. The officer located a highly intoxicated man sitting under a tree. Westchester EMS took the man to the hospital for a medical evaluation.
10:33 a.m. — Officers responded to Northern Westchester Hospital because a disorderly person refused to leave the facility as requested. An officer escorted the woman from the building.
11:44 a.m. — An out-of-state caller requested a welfare check at an East Way residence. Neighbors informed the responding officer that the resident was in the hospital.
11:48 p.m. — Officers responded to a Gregory Avenue residence after a 911 hang-up call. It was determined that a domestic dispute had occurred that was verbal in nature. One of the parties said he would leave the premises for the night. A New York state domestic incident report was prepared.
Thursday, Nov. 20
8:03 a.m. — Officers responded to Barker Street after a building employee reported that another man threatened to shoot him. The complaint said he had asked a man to leave the property who was collecting plastic bottles but the man refused to do so and threatened “to shoot me and kill me.” Officers located the man in the area and detained him for investigation. No weapons were found in his possession. The complainant told officers he did not want to pursue criminal charges but asked for a formal trespass warning to be issued. The notice was prepared and the man was advised he would face arrest if he returned to the building or its property.
10:37 a.m. — Police received a report of a person yelling at cars driving on Main Street in front of the Mount Kisco Library. Upon arrival, officers were advised that the man had gone inside the library. He was located by officers and agreed to go to Northern Westchester Hospital for a mental health evaluation.
2:52 p.m. — Police received a report of a robbery that occurred about a half-hour earlier in the CVS parking lot on South Bedford Road. A Bedford man said he posted three iPads for sale on Facebook Marketplace and agreed to meet a purchaser in the parking lot. When the seller arrived, he was approached by two men and one of them displayed a knife before taking the iPads from him. The suspects fled east on South Bedford Road in a dark-colored Mazda. Patrol officers canvassed the area, Interstate 684 and the upper Hutchinson River Parkway but the vehicle was not located. The case was turned over to detectives for investigation.
4 p.m. — Police received a report of a female having a medical emergency at Starbucks on South Moger Avenue. The woman was highly intoxicated and uncooperative with EMS and police. She was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation.
6:38 p.m. — An officer responded to a property damage auto accident on Moore Avenue and Main Street. A summons was issued to one of the drivers involved.
Friday, Nov. 21
10:03 a.m. — Police received a report of a Carpenter Avenue resident who was unable to stand. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps was at the scene upon the officer’s arrival. The woman was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation.
10:56 a.m. — Police received a report of a woman who may have broken her ankle in a fall on North Bedford Road. She was assisted by the officer and EMS personnel and taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital.
