Mount Kisco Police Report July 27-August 1

Saturday, July 26

8:13 a.m. — A resident of Ossining, male, 42, was arrested on a bench warrant and charged with driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest, misdemeanors. An officer assigned to patrol the Saw Mill River Parkway had observed a van traveling northbound with commercial license plates and made a traffic stop after the vehicle exited toward Route 133. Due to a language barrier, the officer requested assistance from a Spanish-speaking officer assigned to the Mount Kisco precinct. After investigation, the man was issued summonses returnable to Mount Kisco Justice Court for a restricted vehicle on a parkway, driving without a license and failure to obey a traffic control device, all violations. He was taken into custody and transported to Ossining police headquarters on the outstanding warrants. The van he was driving was impounded. 

2:38 p.m. — A female, 50, was charged with trespassing, a misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a violation, after, police said, she caused a disturbance at Hotel MTK on Pat Reilly Way. The woman became enraged when staff declined to allow her to purchase alcohol because the bar wasn’t open, police said. After police were called, hotel staff said they wanted the woman to leave the property, but officers reported she repeatedly refused to do so. After she was taken into custody, the woman said she was having difficulty breathing and was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital. She was admitted to the hospital for physical and mental health evaluations.

4:05 p.m. — A man arrived at the Green Street precinct to report that his son’s mother had failed to bring the child to him for a visit as required by their custody agreement. The man said he will pursue the matter in Westchester County Family Court but wanted to document that he had immediately reported the alleged violation. He completed a supporting deposition and officers prepared a New York state domestic incident report.


Sunday, July 27

9:27 p.m. — Police received a report of an elderly man bleeding from a laceration to his head on Maple Avenue. An officer provided assistance to the man, who was intoxicated. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded and took the man to Northern Westchester Hospital.


Monday, July 28

9:10 p.m. — A vehicle was damaged in a hit-and-run in the garage at Northern Westchester Hospital. A motorist reported that he parked the car at 6:30 p.m., and discovered damage to his front bumper when he returned at 9 p.m. A request was made to the hospital for access to security video in the garage. The investigation remains open.


Tuesday, July 29

1:55 p.m. — A Yorktown woman was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor, after a complaint from store security at Target on North Bedford Road, Mount Kisco. The woman was accused of stealing $197 worth of merchandise by paying for some, but not all, items in her possession at a self-checkout counter. She was booked at the Green Street precinct and released pending an Aug. 14 appearance in Mount Kisco Justice Court.

4:55 p.m. — Report of fraudulent refund transactions that occurred at T.J. Maxx on East Main Street, Mount Kisco, several days earlier. Loss prevention personnel provided video of three persons in the store who removed items from shelves and then went to registers to refund those items, both with and without paper receipts. The matter was turned over to detectives for investigation.


Wednesday, July 30

9:26 a.m. — A Lexington Avenue property owner reported that couch cushions and other items on the front porch have been disturbed in recent days. He suspects someone is sleeping on the property without permission. A report was prepared and patrol officers were advised of the condition.


Thursday, July 31

12:22 p.m. — An officer on patrol on Lexington Avenue observed a man known to have an outstanding warrant issued by the Mount Kisco Justice Court. The officer verified the man’s identity and took him into custody on the bench warrant, charging him with public lewdness, a misdemeanor. He was booked at the Green Street precinct and held for arraignment.

5:57 p.m. — A man used the call box at the Green Street precinct to report that he wanted to turn himself in due to outstanding warrants. An officer on patrol returned to the precinct, confirmed the active warrants and booked him on charges of second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony, and driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. The 36-year-old village resident was arraigned in Mount Kisco Justice Court and released pending an Aug. 21 court appearance.   

6:17 p.m. — Report of a fight involving two men on Morgan Drive. Responding officers located a man walking on Radio Circle who said he had just been in a loud argument with a relative who had since left the area. The man said the dispute was verbal, and officers observed no indications that a physical altercation had occurred.


Friday, Aug. 1

9:40 a.m. — A Grove Street resident reported that someone might have entered his father’s car overnight. He said he discovered the passenger door ajar when he went to move the vehicle to another parking spot a short time earlier. He was uncertain if anything of value was stolen from the vehicle. An officer advised the man to have his father follow up with police if that was the case.

1:10 p.m. — An officer responded to a Carpenter Avenue residence to assist a man in his 70s who fell and was unable to get up. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps also responded and took the man to a hospital.
