Saturday, July 12

12:46 a.m. — A 26-year-old Bronx man faces multiple charges after, police said, he fled an attempted traffic stop. An officer attempted the traffic stop after observing a BMW sedan traveling in the 500 block of East Main Street with heavily tinted windows and no front license plate. After the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed, a description of it was broadcast. About 1:11 a.m., the Real Time Crime Unit advised that the BMW was traveling on the southbound Hutchinson River Parkway in New Rochelle. Another officer attempted a traffic stop and the BWW driver refused to pull over. The car exited the parkway in an attempt to evade capture but was eventually boxed in on a dead-end street in Mount Vernon. The driver ran off but was captured on foot. A stun gun and ski mask were found in the car, and its license plate was determined to belong to a different vehicle. The suspect was booked at Westchester County police headquarters on charges of unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless driving and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, all misdemeanors. He was also issued multiple vehicle and traffic law summonses.

10:06 p.m. — A 57-year-old village man was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated after an officer observed his vehicle being driven erratically on Moore Avenue and on Lexington Avenue. After failing a field sobriety test, the man was booked at the Green Street precinct and released pending an appearance in Mount Kisco Justice Court.

Tuesday, July 15

4:14 p.m. — A passerby flagged an officer down on Kirby Plaza to report that a man in the area appeared to be in need of assistance. The officer located a man nearby who was upset and crying over his inability to find work. The Mobile Crisis Response Team arrived and the officer left the man in its care.

11:32 p.m. — Officers responded to Hillside Avenue on a report of a youth in emotional crisis. The family requested a mental health evaluation and EMS responded to transport the youth to the hospital.

The suspect was accused of shoplifting $360 worth of merchandise. She was booked at the Green Street precinct and released pending a July 31 appearance in Mount Kisco Justice Court. A 2-year-old girl was in her care at the time. The child’s mother was notified to come pick up the girl.

Thursday, July 17

7:02 a.m. — Report of a domestic dispute at a Lexington Avenue residence. A man told officers that the dispute was verbal in nature only but that he called police because his girlfriend had previously assaulted him during another argument. He was advised how to file for a temporary order of protection, if desired. A lethality assessment was conducted and a New York state domestic incident report was prepared.

12:28 p.m. — An auto dealership in the village reported that two dealer plates were missing from its inventory. The Department of Motor Vehicles was notified.

5:03 p.m. — A pedestrian was struck by a car at Main Street and Lexington Avenue. The man in his 80s was conscious and alert after he was struck and was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital. Witnesses provided conflicting accounts of whether the pedestrian or driver was at fault. The investigation remains open as officers await access to security video from a local business that may have captured the incident.
