Monday, April 28
1:58 a.m. — A man was seen rummaging through unlocked vehicles in a private parking lot on the 200 block of Main Street. An officer who was nearby checked the lot immediately but no one was present. While the officer was on the scene, a vehicle owner came out of a bar to report that three fishing rods and prescription medication were taken from his unlocked car. The victim placed the value of those items at $800. After investigating, the officer developed information about a possible suspect and vehicle involved in the theft. An investigation is continuing.
3:04 p.m. — A village resident, 70, was charged with DWAI, a violation, after a minor traffic accident on South Moger Avenue. He also was issued a summons for unsafe backing. He was due to answer the charges May 8 in Mount Kisco Justice Court.
5:38 p.m. — An officer responded to a Gregory Avenue residence on a report of a youth in emotional crisis. The officer was able to contact the boy’s parents by phone, advise them of the circumstances and inform them that their son would be taken to Westchester Medical Center for mental health services. He was transported to the hospital by Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
7:38 p.m. — A male, 19, was charged with third-degree burglary and criminal mischief in connection with an attempted break-in at a bar on Main Street. The owner reported a short time earlier that he had just reviewed security video that showed a man trying to force open a rear door with a pry bar about 7 a.m. The video also showed the man spotting the camera and removing it, causing the security video to stop. An officer reviewing the video recognized the suspect from prior interactions. A short time later, that suspect was spotted going into a nearby deli and was taken into custody. The man was booked at the Green Street precinct and released. He was due to appear in Mount Kisco Justice Court on May 8.
Tuesday, April 29
1:38 a.m. — A report was received that a female in her 70s had been injured in a fall at her Amuso Drive residence. The woman told responding officers she had not fallen but had called 911 because she was having difficulty breathing. Westchester EMS responded, provided oxygen and took her to Northern Westchester Hospital for additional medical care.
4:40 a.m. — A call about a suspicious vehicle parked at a business on Radio Circle led to a woman found sleeping in the car. She told the officer she was an employee of the business and was there because she did not want to stay at the apartment she shares with her boyfriend. A supervisor at the business confirmed the woman’s employment and said the company had no issue with her being on the property before business hours.
2:28 p.m. — A resident of Croton-on-Hudson, female, 60, was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor, after she left Target on North Bedford Road with $278 worth of merchandise she did not pay for. She was booked at the Green Street precinct and released. She was scheduled for a May 8 appearance in Mount Kisco Justice Court.
Wednesday, April 30
11:44 a.m. — Staff at Las Americas on Main Street contacted police to turn in a wallet found on its premises. The wallet contained more than $1,400 in cash and personal items belonging to an Ossining man. The man was advised his wallet had been found and he picked it up that evening at the Green Street precinct.
Friday, May 2
1:01 a.m. — An officer responded to South Moger Avenue on a report that a man had fallen and suffered a laceration to his forehead. The man was taken by Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Westchester Medical Center for treatment and evaluation.
11:34 a.m. — A South Moger Avenue business reported a shoplifting incident that occurred the previous day. The matter remains under investigation.
11:34 a.m. — A resident of Kensington Way reported that she has been the victim of identity theft. A report was taken and an investigation is continuing.
5:17 p.m. — A welfare check was requested on North Bedford Road after a woman contacted police to report that her husband had gone into a building for a job interview and had not returned to their car, even though the business now looked like it had closed for the day. As an officer responded, the man returned to the vehicle.
Sunday, May 4
2:36 p.m. — A welfare check was requested on a Barker Street teen who was possibly in emotional crisis. The youth told officers he was depressed and thinking of harming himself. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps was requested and took the youth and his mother to Northern Westchester Hospital for mental health services.
7:45 p.m. — A report was received that a man who had threatened to harm himself and his family members had fled from the emergency room at Northern Westchester Hospital. Medical staff advised that the man was a danger to himself and others and therefore could not decline medical attention. Patrol officers began to canvass the area, including in Leonard Park where the man had possibly been seen. Additional county police resources from outside the village responded to assist in the search, including a tracking canine. No further information was provided.
Monday, May 5
About 6 a.m. — The person in emotional crisis who fled from Northern Westchester Hospital the previous night was located hiding behind a home on Linden Lane, Bedford, concluding the search that had continued overnight.
6:04 p.m. — A report was received that a pedestrian was struck by a car at Lexington and Moore avenues. Upon arrival, an officer was told the pedestrian, male, 30, was conscious and alert. Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to evaluate the man and take him to Northern Westchester Hospital. The driver, who remained at the scene, failed a field sobriety test and was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. The suspect, a resident of Ossining, male, 30, was booked at the Green Street precinct and released pending a May 15 appearance in Mount Kisco Justice Court.
Wednesday, May 7
11:54 p.m. — A resident of Brooklyn, male 22, turned himself in at the Green Street precinct on an outstanding warrant. He had been charged with menacing and criminal mischief last fall and failed to appear in court in November to answer the charges.
Thursday, May 8
3:45 p.m. — A complaint was received of possible fraudulent activity associated with a motor vehicle purchase at a dealership in the village. A patrol officer collected relevant documents and prepared a report. The case was turned over to detectives for continued investigation.
5:06 p.m. — A village resident arrived at the Green Street precinct to report a prior verbal domestic dispute at her residence. The woman said her adult son who lives elsewhere had made threatening remarks to her outside her home and she wanted to document the incident. A New York state domestic incident report was prepared.
Friday, May 9
10:36 a.m. — Officers responded to the Mount Kisco Public Library on Main Street on a report of a disorderly patron. Staff reported that a man who had been asked to turn off music that he was playing on his phone had become confrontational with staff. The man left prior to an officer’s arrival.
11:30 a.m. — A report was received of two men sleeping inside a laundromat in the 500 block of Lexington Avenue. Officers woke the men up and advised them to leave the premises since they were not customers of the business.
