Lewisboro Police report Aug 4-9

Monday, Aug. 4

10:30 a.m. — A woman reported having trouble breathing was taken to Norwalk Hospital by Vista EMS. 


Tuesday, Aug. 5

4:61 p.m. — While patrolling the vicinity of Four Winds Hospital in Cross River, police observed a black Nissan traveling on Route 35 with an expired inspection sticker and a cracked windshield. A traffic stop was initiated at the Orchard Square shopping center; the driver became emotional and said she didn’t have her license or registration with her. She did provide her name and other information. Police checked and found her license was suspended, the registration was suspended and there was no insurance. The car was impounded and towed and the driver issued a number of tickets including one to appear in court Aug. 18. 

6:45 p.m. — A dog found loose in Katonah was picked up by police. The owner was located and notified and the dog and its owner were reunited. 


Wednesday, Aug. 6

8:15 p.m. — Police went to an address in Goldens Bridge to meet with a person reported by his mother as potentially at risk to self-harm. Multiple officers including state troopers were on scene as the subject had barricaded themselves inside their home. The Westchester County Mobile Response Team was called. Police obtained keys from the subject’s mother and entered the home. The individual was submissive at this point and agreed to be taken to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation. 


Thursday, Aug. 7

1:24 p.m. — A male playing basketball while working at the town camp in Lewisboro sustained a head laceration. He was evaluated by medics but refused medical attention. 

5:26 p.m. — Rape was reported at a residence in South Salem. No further information was provided. 

5:55 p.m. — Police went to Four Winds Hospital after a female, 18, broke into another unit using a stick or a metal object. Police spoke to a nurse who said they just wanted help getting the girl back to her own unit. Police found her and talked to her and she returned to her proper space. 

6:42 p.m. — Neighbors who don’t get along on Mark Mead Road, Cross River were advised to stay off each other’s property.


Friday, Aug. 8

9:50 p.m. — A man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in the vicinity of Buck Run, South Salem. He was originally stopped for a traffic violation. During processing, police said he registered a blood-alcohol count of 0.8 % or higher. He was issued multiple tickets including driving to the left of pavement markings. He is to appear in court Aug. 18. 


Saturday, Aug. 9

11:00 a.m. — Police went to a private driveway in Goldens Bridge after an unknown man was reported sitting there drinking alcohol. The man was gone prior to police arrival. 

4:05 p.m. — Police received a call about a possibly rabid raccoon in South Salem. On arrival the reporting party said they saw a dead raccoon near their boat dock and another raccoon stumbling around. It stumbled out of sight before police could dispatch it. 

10:00 p.m. — Police went to a home in Katonah after a resident called 911 for a family situation. No police action was required.
