John Jay gymnasts launch new season

A pair of John Jay gymnasts are competing with the combined program of Somers/Hen Hud/John Jay/Ossining/Pawling and Yorktown, and the team kicked off the new season with a meet at their home facility on December 12 at Dynamic Gymnastics in Cortlandt against Suffern. John Jay senior Kayla Cambareri shined once again as a veteran on the squad as she competed in every event. Cambareri scored a 9.4 on the floor routine, an 8.8 on the vault, an 8.7 on the balance beam, and an 8.5 on the uneven bars. Rita Haitoff also competed for John Jay, and she scored a 9.0 on the floor, a 7.3 on the balance beam, and 7.1 on the uneven bars.
