A man and a woman were arrested on drug charges after their vehicle was stopped by Lewisboro Police the evening of Thursday, Jan. 9.
Police said officer Charles Mulé stopped a car at 7:50 p.m. on Old Oscaleta Road. Two people, a man and a woman, were arrested and charged with felony drug charges as well as other misdemeanor and violation offenses.
Police said the operator was first determined to be driving with a suspended license. During further contact, Mulé observed what were believed to be narcotics in the vehicle.
The police dog K-9 Zane was called to the scene. The dog indicated several locations inside the car where narcotics were found.
Police said there was a glass pipe used for smoking crack cocaine and five pills in a bag on the floor. A bloody syringe was found inside the car. Inside the woman’s handbag was a pill grinder and the residue of what police believed to be “crushed meth.” Heroin was found inside the car as well as crack cocaine, and used and unused syringes, police said. A large, opened bottle of vodka was found in reach of the driver’s seat.
The couple were escorted to police headquarters where they were processed and released with a court date of Feb. 3.
