Wildly popular Labubu toys stolen at gas mart
On Monday, July 28, at 1:41 p.m., theft was reported at the gas mart on Haines Road, Bedford Hills. An employee showed police video of an unknown male taking a box containing Labubu toys, carrying the box to the back of the store and then emptying the contents into his backpack and leaving. Police said the matter is currently in the hands of detectives.
Monday, July 28
8:31 a.m. — A resident of Bedford, male, 74, was taken from his home to Northern Westchester Hospital by Bedford firefighters after breaking his arm.
6:08 p.m. — Police spoke to a couple at their home on North Street, Katonah, after a domestic incident where the woman reportedly became physical. The man said he was cooking dinner when they argued over a piece of chocolate given to their child. The couple said they would remain under the same roof for the rest of the night and that she would go to her sister’s place in the morning. He said he was going to family court. A New York state domestic incident report was completed.
Tuesday, July 29
3:25 p.m. — The same man who fell at his home in Bedford on Monday, reported falling again. He was evaluated on scene by Bedford fighters and a medic and turned down further assistance, saying he only wanted help getting up.
6:37 p.m. — A 2-month-old reported to be having difficulty breathing in Bedford Village turned out only to have an episode of hiccups. She was evaluated on scene by Bedford firefighters and the mother declined further help.
Wednesday, July 30
3:30 p.m. — A man repeatedly arrested after being accused of violating court orders to not contact or communicate with his ex-wife except through a court-mandated app was charged with contempt and violating court orders. This time he was arrested on an outstanding warrant he claimed to be unaware of when he appeared at Bedford Town Court to respond to earlier criminal contempt charges. Police said that on July 6 he dropped his daughter off at her mother’s home in Bedford but then proceeded to walk up the driveway where he is not allowed. He was held for two nights in the county jail until he produced $25,000 for bail. He is to appear in court again Sept. 3.
12:22 p.m. — Bedford police officers went to the town camp at the Bedford Village Memorial Park for an “ice pops with cops” community relations event. Police reported “many happy customers.”
12:26 p.m. — The Bedford dog control officer went to Northwind Kennels in Bedford at the request of SPCA Westchester for a welfare check on conditions. The facility was toured with the office manager. No violations or environmental issues were observed.
2:54 p.m. — A woman was reported inside the Salsa Fresca Mexican Grill restaurant on Bedford Road, Bedford Hills, creating a disturbance, banging on windows and doors and shifting furniture. Prior to police arrival, she’d left the building. Police located her soon after and spoke to her. She said she only wanted to buy ice cream. As the officer is familiar with the woman, he tried to contact a relative but was unsuccessful. No further action was taken.
Thursday, July 31
4:09 p.m. — A resident of Carmel, female, 38, was taken by Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Northern Westchester Hospital for a possible seizure she experienced while in her car. She was conscious and alert on police arrival. Her car was moved by the officer to a safer location in the vicinity of Hill Street.
Friday, Aug. 1
4:29 p.m. — Three summonses were issued and a vehicle towed after a stationary traffic enforcement near the Bedford Hills Fire Department. A driver was stopped for a cellphone violation; it was soon learned the operator had a suspended license.
8:28 p.m — A driver traveling on Bedford Road in the vicinity of Baldwin Road was stopped and given a speeding ticket.
Saturday, Aug. 2
12:00 p.m. — A person reported to be stuck in an elevator at the Katonah train station was safely released by Katonah firefighters.
6:22 p.m. — A driver driving the wrong way on Bedford Road, Katonah, in the vicinity of Parkway was issued two summonses.
6:29 p.m. — A couple described as “unkempt and looking like they could use some help” were reported by a caller in Bedford Hills who said they were hanging out on Bedford Road by CVS. Police said they were gone prior to their arrival.
Sunday, Aug. 3
2:09 p.m. — “Constant barking” was reported by a caller on Tucker Road, Bedford Hills. The reporting party said the dogs had been barking for hours. Police contacted the dogs’ owner who said he’d make an attempt to keep the dogs quiet.
6:52 p.m. — A larceny in progress was reported at Kohl’s on Bedford Road, Bedford Hills. Police spoke with the loss prevention officer who said the man fled the store without actually taking anything. Police didn’t find the man.
10:25 p.m. — Police went to a residence on Adams Street, Bedford Hills, after a man reported his heavily intoxicated roommate had become belligerent then ran off, headed toward School Street. Police looked for the roommate without result and told the reporting party to let them know if he returned.
