Intoxicated, passed out on the lawn
On Saturday, June 28, at 2 p.m., a male, 40, from Binghamton, was reported passed out on private property on Harris Road, Katonah. He told police he thought he was in Binghamton and did not know the date. Police said he appeared highly intoxicated. EMS on arrival made note of his elevated heart and blood rates. He was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
Monday, June 23
4:55 p.m. — Two summonses were issued to a driver traveling on Bedford Road, Katonah, near Parkway. Police said the offender ran a stop sign and was not wearing a seatbelt.
6:19 p.m. — Police went to Kohls on Bedford Road, Bedford Hills, after it was reported there was a problem in a public bathroom. On arrival the problem was an “unknown” item someone left behind. Police said it was a plastic toy and discarded it in a dumpster.
Tuesday, June 24
12:22 a.m. — A resident of Bedford Hills, male, 74, was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital by KBHVAC after falling down the stairs of his home and hitting his head. Police found him outside, bleeding from injuries to his head, lip, and possibly a broken hand. He told the responding officer he thought he’d been sleepwalking when the accident occurred.
4:30 a.m. — A resident of East Lake Drive, Katonah, told police he had no idea what set off the alarm panel inside his home. He said there was no issue and the panel had not been tampered with.
7:47 p.m. — A resident of Bedford, female, 53, was taken by Bedford firefighters to Northern Westchester Hospital after experiencing heat stroke during a graduation ceremony on the Fox Lane campus. Police said she is the parent of a graduating student.
Wednesday, June 25
12:15 p.m. — A resident of Hopp Ground Lane, Bedford, complained of garbage and debris being dumped on her property. On police arrival she said she wasn’t sure the dumping was actually on her property which is adjacent to property belonging to the town. Police advised her to get a survey done to confirm the lot lines.
7:45 p.m. — Police went to a home in Katonah for a reported domestic incident between a grown daughter living in the home and her mother’s boyfriend. The boyfriend was not on scene when police arrived. The daughter told police they argued about lowering the thermostat during the heatwave and he became irate. She said the argument was verbal only. A New York state domestic incident report was completed.
9:31 p.m. — A resident of Oliver Road, Bedford, reported feeling uneasy about two occupied parked cars parked on their street. Police arrived and saw four parked cars legally parked and unoccupied. All the registrations came back to local addresses.
Thursday, June 26
12:17 p.m. — Police went to a retail business on Bedford Road, Bedford Hills, after the manager told police a former employee came in and was asked to leave. The manager said the woman became excited and stormed out. She was no longer on scene when police arrived. The manager requested a trespass deposition and police told the woman she was trespassed.
10:23 p.m. — A caller on Wood Road, Bedford, reported a suspicious vehicle parked in a no parking area. Police spoke to the occupants of the car who said they’d pulled over to park. They were advised this was a no parking area and left the area.
Friday, June 27
5:25 p.m. — A loss prevention officer at Kohl’s in Bedford Hills came to headquarters to report a theft from the store. He had video of a couple entering the store, going to the luggage department, taking a piece of luggage, and then proceeding to fill it with men’s clothes before exiting and getting into a car. The loss prevention officer shared identifying information about the couple they’d received from the loss prevention officer from the Port Chester Kohls where the couple have thieved. This information was shared with Bedford detectives. Police said an arrest is imminent.
9:04 p.m. — Police went to a home on Guard Hill Road, Bedford Hills, after parents reported their adult son who does not live with them was intoxicated and arguing because they took his car keys. Police spoke to all parties and the parents returned the keys to their son who said he wouldn’t drive and would remain at their home for the night.
Saturday, June 28
11:22 p.m. — Police went to a home on Old Post Road, Bedford, after a neighbor complained about a loud party. The music was off when police arrived and police reported there were no issues.
Sunday, June 29
3:11 a.m. — A person was reported passed out on a lawn. Police found the man lying half on grass, half on the sidewalk on Bedford Road, Bedford Hills. He confessed he’d been drinking alcohol and was unsteady on his feet. Police say he is from Peekskill and in his 30s. He refused further medical attention after Westchester EMS arrived and a friend came to get him and drive him back to Peekskill.
7:25 p.m. — A grandmother in Bedford Hills reported her granddaughter, 16, missing. Police said she is a frequent runaway. They determined she was at a friend’s home in Mount Kisco and Westchester County Police were notified to check on her and bring her back to her grandmother.
