Lewisboro Land Trust Co-Chairs Bobbe Stultz and Jackie Dzaluk will step down from leadership at the end of the year. The two have worked extensively to build the organization to where it is today since its founding in 1994.
“We believe that one of the most important things necessary to ensuring sustainability of an organization over the long term is making sure there is renewal in leadership and a leadership pipeline,” said Stultz. And, to that end, working with our excellent board to facilitate a smooth transition is one of the most important things we can do as LLT’s current leaders.”
The transition committee, with the guidance of the Land Trust Alliance, has been meeting since the beginning of the year to solidify a new leadership team and ensure that land protection and LLT’s impact and vision, and the organization itself, are lasting and strong, said organization officials.
LLT is pursuing Land Trust Alliance Accreditation to codify, regulate and professionalize its business policies and practices. This aligns with national standards and practices for land trust work.
“We are extremely proud of the progress the organization — which remains at this time governed and operated entirely by community volunteers — has made over the years,” Dzaluk said. “Outdoor programming for all ages, community education, preserves acquisition, a program for the disabled and disadvantaged, our Remove & Restore program to eradicate invasives and plant native, and we are committed to staying involved, helping where needed, and celebrating the new accomplishments of the Lewisboro Land Trust.”
