Model train show on display in Bedford Hills through Jan. 28

The Bedford Hills Historical Museum is hosting a “New Model Train Show” on the lower level of the Town of Bedford building located at 321 Bedford Road, Bedford Hills.

The display is open Thursday and Saturday through Jan. 28, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Visitors can see the HO Gauge model trains run on the track in the village that was built by the late Dr. Robert Bibi of Katonah and donated by his wife, Maria, and reinstalled at the museum. With the guidance of our board member and train aficionado, Rick Carmichael, members of the Olde Newburgh Model Railroad Club installed the HO-gauge set at the museum where it remains on display.

The museum says the new model train display is great for kids of all ages and adults, and it’s free of charge.

Jon Dahlgren of Tim Miller Associates discusses plan details during a site visit by town officials and the public at the Tripi Subdivision, also known as Bailey Hall, Friday, Sept. 27.

Town officials and members of the public participated in a site visit at a proposed 23-lot subdivision, with one existing residence and 22 new single-family homes, Friday morning, Sept. 27. The Tripi subdivision, also known as Bailey Hall, is at New Street and Harris Road in Katonah.

A subdivision was first proposed for the 25.59-acre property in 2006. It had been the home of Bailey Hall School, a vocational school for boys, until it closed in 1987. The building was destroyed in 2000 by a fire.

The application states the plan also includes the widening of New Street and installation of a sidewalk to provide pedestrian access to the nearby residential neighborhood.

The Bedford Planning Board has set a public hearing for Monday, Oct. 28, at 7:30 p.m., in the Town Court Room located at at 321 Bedford Road, Bedford Hills. People can also participate via Zoom.
