REV FEST will feature about 1,000 historical reenactors on Oct. 24 and 25 at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation.

And so are several hundred Patriot troops who will engage them at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation next Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 24 and 25.

The 1,000 or so historical reenactors will be there to stage the Battle of White Plains, Westchester’s biggest battle of the American Revolution. The reenactments each day come 250 years after the Oct. 28, 1776, engagement involving about 18,000 Redcoats, Hessians and colonists.

It’s all part of the state’s REV FEST 250, as the nation marks 250 years of independence. The festival at Ward Pound Ridge is Westchester’s signature REV FEST event, and it will include much more than people in period costume. Throughout each day there will be performances on the Rev Fest stage, including West Point’s Benny Havens Band, the Sankofa Drum and Dance Ensemble, historical storytellers sharing tales of the American Revolution from the area, and a “Hamilton” sing-along. Local food trucks will be on site.

“As we commemorate the 250th, we’re excited to offer new ways for travelers and locals to connect with history and explore the vast beauty of Ward Pound Ridge and Westchester as a whole,” said Natasha Caputo, director of Westchester County Tourism and Film.

REV FEST is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Admission is free.
