Peter Orlando Albano died June 22 in his home, surrounded by family. He was 83.
Born Jan. 10, 1943, in the Bronx, the son of Mario and Ida Albano. He spent his entire life in one home in Bedford and graduated from Fox Lane High School, where he met Beverly Ann Hackert. They were married in 1963, and shared nearly 63 years of marriage. The family said they built a life “centered on love, devotion, respect and family.”
Albano was the founder of Albano Carpentry, a family business he later shared with his son, Anthony. Through his craftsmanship, he left a lasting mark on homes and projects throughout the tri-state area.
Albano loved to travel the U.S. and around the world and was happiest outdoors, particularly at Cape Cod, Mass. He spent treasured time on its beaches surrounded by his family. His love for Cape Cod was something he passed on to his children and grandchildren.
Albano is survived by his wife, Beverly Albano; four sons, Anthony (Kelly), David (Susan), Michael (Beth), and Joseph (Kristin); 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Catholic Burial was celebrated June 29 at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church in Katonah. Interment was to be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Mianus River Gorge at mianus.org or Westmoreland Sanctuary at westmorelandsanctuary.org.
