Peter Chryssos of Katonah

Peter Chryssos of Katonah, New York, passed peacefully on Sunday, May 10th, 2026 at Regional Hospice in Danbury, Connecticut.

Peter was born June 21st, 1957, in Queens, New York, to the late Mary and Alexander Chryssos. He graduated from the University of Rochester in 1979 and the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University in 1987.

Outside of brief stints as a hospital orderly, fry cook, and roller rink DJ, Peter made a living as a financial maestro and small-business owner. Organized almost to a fault, it seems only appropriate to memorialize him in an alphabetized list—if only because you can’t send a spreadsheet to print. Peter was: an aspiring horticulturalist; an avid reader; a clothes horse; a crossword champion, an epicurean; a fierce friend; an irascible younger brother; a mama's boy; a master of business administration; a problem solver; a prodigal son; a proud Greek American, a prudent legislator; a talented dancer; a traveling companion; and a trusted confidant. Most importantly, Peter was a loving partner and devoted father to two human children and one incredibly spoiled canine. He will be remembered often, joyfully, and for his signature mustache.

A viewing will be held at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, New York, on Thursday, May 14th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM—all are welcome.

His funeral service will be held at the Greek Orthodox Church of Our Saviour, 2195 Westchester Avenue East, in Rye, New York, on Friday, May 15th at 11:00am for family and close friends.

Burial will follow at Chichester Cemetery, Bedford, NY.

In lieu of flowers, please get the car washed, feed the dog an occasional morsel from the table, and give your dad a call sometime.
