A parish house at St. Paul’s Chapel and new garages at Villas at Vista recently were unanimously approved by the Lewisboro Planning Board.
The parish house plan for St. Paul’s Chapel located at 313 Smith Ridge Road, South Salem, was approved at the board’s June 16 meeting. The action, approving a site development plan, town wetland permit and a special use permit, cleared the way for the house on the 4-acres site.
Town Planner and Wetland Consultant Jan Johannessen said prior to the board’s vote that once the parish house is built it cannot be sold or rented out.
Also at the meeting, the board voted to clear a plan for 11 garages by Villas at Vista, located at 920 Oakridge Commons, South Salem.
Smith Ridge Associates will construct five “engaged” garages, built either under or projecting out from the new residential units in Building 9A/B, and six freestanding garages, split between the two freestanding buildings. Each building has three garage bays associated with the 12 rental housing units currently under construction at Building 9 A/B.
Town board member Janet Andersen said prior to the board’s vote that none of the spaces in the garages will be rented to anyone who does not live in the 12 housing units.
