Pamela Hagele, 70, died at home on June 24. She was the wife of 28 years to Re Hagele.

Born in Oakland, Calif., in February 1955, the daughter of Paul and Lois Spierling. Paul Spierling, a Navy doctor, moved the family to Katonah when she was 7 years old.

Hagele attended and graduated from John Jay High School in 1973, and went on to study nursing at Springfield University and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 1977. After college, she moved back to Katonah, where she married her first husband, Rick Davison, and had two children.

She worked in the operating room at Northern Westchester Hospital until becoming a nurse at John Jay High School in 1998. She retired in 2018.

In April 1997, she married Hagele, and together they joined their two families. As a nurse and mother, she “devoted her life to helping others,” her family said, but above all else prioritized family.

She is survived by her husband, Re, and her four children, Sarah (Shane), Michael (Samantha), Aaron (Christine), Eb (Sarina), and six grandchildren.

A private service was held on June 25. A celebration of life will be held on a date to be determined.

Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, at stjude.org
