Saturday, May 2

Opening Day John Jay Farm Market. Held in downtown Katonah, Lot 2, entrance at Coldwell Banker. Fresh and seasonal fruits and vegetables, seafood, breads, specialty items and more. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.


Westmoreland’s Family Party. Westmoreland Sanctuary, 260 Chestnut Ridge Road, Mount Kisco; westmorelandsanctuary.org. Family-friendly event celebrating nature, meeting the resident animals, crafts, food and more. From 3 to 6 p.m. 


Katonah Spring Clean-up. Katonah Village Library, 26 Bedford Road, Katonah; katonahvis.org. Beautify Katonah! Volunteers can pick up garbage bags and gloves at the Katonah Village Library. KVIS provides bags, gloves, and maps. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  


WoodFest ’26. Bethany Arts Community, 40 Somerstown Road, Ossining; bethanyarts.org. A family-friendly day of arbor and wood with live music, art, activities, games and more. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.


Operation Prom. Westchester County Center, 198 Central Ave., White Plains; promnationnetwork.org. High school seniors with a valid school ID can select their prom attire including dresses, tuxedos and accessories for free.  From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Also held Sunday, May 3. 


Irvington Art Market. Irving Presbyterian Church, 25 North Broadway, Irvington; A curated visual art marketplace built by artists, for artists, celebrating fine art, creative expression, and community connection where visitors can purchase original artwork and meet the artists. From 1 to 5 p.m.

“Young Artists 2026.” Katonah Museum of Art, 134 Jay St., Katonah; katonahmuseum.org. An exhibition of high school senior artwork, May 3 through 24.

Now in its 43rd year, the exhibition highlights  high school seniors from schools across the region. Through May 24.


Pleasantville Farmers Market. Memorial Plaza, Lot 10, Pleasantville; pleasantvillefarmersmarket.org. Year-round farmers market that runs on Saturday mornings and includes cheese and bake stands. From 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.


Old Time Music Jam. Hilltop Hanover Farm, 1271 Hanover St., Yorktown Heights; hilltophanoverfarm.org. Come to play or just listen to a gathering of local, acoustic musicians who play traditional Appalachian fiddle music. From 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.


Brad Garrett. Ridgefield Playhouse, 80 East Ridge Road, Ridgefield, CT; ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The actor and comedian performs; 8 p.m.


Pleasantville Repair Café. Emanuel Lutheran Church, 197 Manville Road, Pleasantville; repaircafehv.org. Volunteers will repair small appliances, costume jewelry, clothing, bikes and other items. From noon to 2:30 p.m.


Spring Crafts at Lyndhurst. Lyndhurst Mansion, 635 South Broadway, Tarrytown; artrider.com. Crafts, artwork, jewelry, accessories, original fashion and more. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.


Artist Talk with photographer Helena de Vengoechea Rudd. Pound Ridge Library, 271 Westchester Ave., Pound Ridge; poundridgelibrary.org. The artist will present a talk on her exhibition “Love & Peace: The Museum of Messages.”  From 3 to 4 p.m.


Sunday, May 3

Westchester Pollinator Garden Tour: The Understory. 24 Schildbach Road, Pound Ridge; healthyyards.org/tour. A variety of understory plantings thrive under a large maple tree, providing spring blooms and a living mulch for the tree roots and less work for the homeowner. From 1 to 4 p.m.

Meet the BOE Candidates. John Jay High School, 60 North Salem Road, Cross River. The KLSD Parent Council and The Recorder invite you to hear from the five BOE candidates competing for three open seats on key issues; 7 p.m. 


Tuesday, May 5

Thursday, May 7

Plant Patch Fundraiser. St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 68 Bedford Road, Katonah; stlukeskatonah.org. A selection of healthy blooming annuals, hanging baskets, perennials, herbs and vegetables. Through Sunday, May 10.


Climate Wayfinding & Human Nature. Bedford Playhouse, 633 Old Post Road, Bedford; bedfordplayhouse.org. The Women’s Wolfpack presents an evening with two climate communicators, Katharine Wilkinson and Kate Marvel who will discuss how we can meet this moment; 6:30 p.m. 


“A Still Small Voice.” Jacob Burn Film Center, 364 Manville Road, Pleasantville; burnsfilmcenter.org. A chaplain completing a year-long hospital residency, learns to provide spiritual care to people confronting profound life changes. Followed by a Q&A with the director and health care professionals from White Planes Hospital; 7 p.m.

Mount Kisco Art Walk Week.  A weeklong community celebration of creativity, presented by MKESA in partnership with the Mount Kisco Arts Council and the Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce. View artwork at local businesses from May 11-15, concluding with a Family Art Night at St. Mark’s Church Parish Hall on May 16; mountkiscoartscouncil.com.

Everyone is welcome to meet outside on the Parkway side of the library for a demonstration of the strategy and design for a 3 Sisters Garden. Bring home seeds and starters for planting this colonial garden at your home. From noon to 3 p.m.


Pinkster Jubilee. Philipse Manor Hall, 29 Warburton Ave., Yonkers; philipsemanorhall.com. Celebrate the Afro-Dutch holiday of Pinkster, a festival of spring, family, culture, and resistance with live music, dance, games, crafts, food, vendors, history, and more. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

OUTWalking. Kitchawan Preserve, Route 134, Ossining; theloftcenter.org. Everyone is invited to hike the preserve with a beginner-to-moderate skill level. From 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.


Katonah Poetry Series: Suzanne Cleary. Katonah Village Library, 26 Bedford Road, Katonah; katonahlibrary.org. Cleary is the author of five books of poetry and many awards. From 4 to 6 p.m.


Mount Kisco Farmers Market. Kirby Plaza at the Mount Kisco train station. Local produce, artisanal bread, prepared foods, baked goods, local artisan crafts, and wellness items. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Through Nov. 2.

Thursday, May 28

Saturday, May 30

Lewisboro Pride in the Park. Town Park, 1079 Route 35, South Salem; lewisborony.gov. The sixth annual Pride in the Park Celebration will include community favorites Drag Queen Story Hour, Pet Pride Parade, tabling from over 30 community organizations, a kid's zone, DJ dance party, food, drinks and more. Sensory-Friendly “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu.” Bedford Playhouse, 633 Old Post Road, Bedford; bedfordplayhouse.org. A screening of the new “Star Wars” franchise, presented for the neurodivergent community. Everyone is welcome; 3 p.m.


Sunday, May 31

Pound Ridge Color Run. Pound Ridge Elementary School, 7 Pound Ridge Road, Pound Ridge; poundridgepartnership.org. Hosted by the PRP in collaboration with the Human Rights Advisory Committee, the Color Run is dedicated to celebrating Pride Month, with a splash of Holi-inspired color. From 9 to 11 a.m.

PARKS

Croton Point Park. 1 Croton Point Ave., Croton-on-Hudson; parks.westchestergov.com. The 508-acre park situated on a peninsula on the east shore of the Hudson River is open seven days a week, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.


John Jay Homestead. 400 Jay St., Katonah; johnjayhomestead.org. Visitors may explore the 62-acre park and seven gardens. Open daily, sunrise to sunset.


Teatown Lake Reservation. 1600 Spring Valley Road, Ossining; teatown.org. The trails on the 1,000-acre nature preserve and education center are open daily, dawn to dusk. Dogs on leash are allowed.


Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. 6 Reservation Road, Cross River; friendsoftrailside.org. The 4,315-acre park has varied terrain with miles of wooded trails. The Trailside Nature

Museum is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesdays-Saturdays.


Westmoreland Sanctuary. 260 Chestnut Ridge Road, Mount Kisco;

westmorelandsanctuary.org. A 640-acre nature preserve with 7.5 miles of hiking trails. The preserve and Nature Center are free and open to the public seven days a week.
