Local students earn honors

• Top of their class: The Fox Lane High School Class of 2026 valedictorian is David Matz and the salutatorian is Nora Dooley, shown here with their families. Both are National Merit Scholarship finalists, and David won a National Merit Scholarship Award.

College scholars

• Aidan Brinn of South Salem was honored as a student/athlete at SUNY Oneonta.

•Charles Buri of South Salem, DeLucia of South Salem, Marykate Loveless of Bedford and Mary Rose of Bedford were all named to the dean’s list at the College of the Holy Cross.

• Caitlin Kerrigan of South Salem was named to the dean’s list at the University of Scranton.

• Maya Nelsen of South Salem was recognized with the Susan Sutton Smith award for academic excellence at SUNY Oneonta. 

• Colleen O’Shea of Bedford was featured in the “Art Across Campus: Spring 2026” exhibition at SUNY Oneonta.

• Connor O’Sullivan of Pound Ridge, Cali Harris of South Salem and Christopher Paul of South Salem were all named to the dean’s list at SUNY Albany. 

• Claudia Pepa of Bedford was named to the dean’s list at New York Institute of Technology.

• Maximus Pfeiffer-Gomez of Pound Ridge was named to the dean’s list at SUNY Delhi.

• Jacob Portugal  of South Salem was named to the honors list at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan Campus.

• Christian Shapiro of South Salem was named to the dean’s list at Tufts University.

• Nina Vita of Bedford was named to the dean’s list at the University of Tampa. 

• Alexa Vitti of Bedford was named to the dean’s list at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
