Man exposes himself at park playground
On Thursday, July 3, a woman told police she was in her parked car at a playground at the Mountain Lakes Park around 4:15 p.m., when a man approached her car and pulled down his pants in front of her and began masturbating. She described him as having dark brown hair and a goatee and was driving a blue Audi with Connecticut plates. Police were unable to locate him at this time but said they’ve been aware of him for over a year.
Monday, June 30
7:52 a.m. — Police went to the Chase Bank on Route 121, Cross River, for an activated burglar alarm. On arrival all seemed in good order and there were no signs of criminal activity at the bank or its perimeter.
1:05 p.m. — A resident of South Salem who fell at her home and injured her hip was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
3:30 p.m. — A man whose arm was lacerated and abraded at his home in South Salem after falling was treated on scene by Vista medics. Police say the injury was small and the man refused further medical attention.
Tuesday, July 1
11:23 p.m. — Workers accidentally activated a burglar and fire alarm at a home in Cross River.
12:10 p.m. — Fire was reported in a yard in South Salem. Vista firefighters were already on scene when police arrived. Police spoke to the grandson of the homeowner (there was a language barrier); he said his grandmother set the fire to clear out an area for her chickens. Police advised her there was no open burn permitted and she said she understood and would not do that again.
2:00 p.m. — A man wearing red, white and blue clothing was reported in the Lewisboro Town Park talking to children near the pond attending the day camp. Police spoke to him and he said he was playing a game on his phone and that he saw two turtles fighting which he pointed out to the kids. Police advised him not to talk to the campers.
8:45 p.m. — Police assisted an intoxicated man at his home in Cross River. They said he was visibly impaired and had a raised red knot on his head and red marks covered his back. He was unable to tell police what happened. The caller said she found him on the floor but didn’t see him falling. He was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by LVAC.
9:55 p.m. — A man wearing either a hospital smock or a dress was reported talking to himself and pacing up and down in the vicinity of the Goldens Bridge train station. Police were unable to locate him.
Wednesday, July 2
1:15 p.m. — Police went to a location in Goldens Bridge for a report of a prior domestic incident. They spoke to a man who said he has limited contact with his father but his father showed up at his place of work and tried to speak to him. The son walked away. The father chased him, grabbed him, and threatened to punch him in the face. Other employees intervened and the business owner told the dad to leave. Police contacted the father and told him to stay away. A New York state domestic incident report was completed.
Thursday, July 3
10:05 a.m. — A Tesla owner reported his vehicle was damaged in a parking lot on the John Jay High School campus when it was struck by a Toyota pickup. The operator of the Toyota was found on the school grounds. Neither party wanted a police report and said they would handle the issue on their own.
2:16 p.m. — Police went to a home on Hilltop Road, Waccabuc, for a report of a rabid raccoon. The animal appeared sick, and with the homeowner’s permission, it was dispatched by the police officer with one round.
3:00 p.m. — A Cross River resident came to headquarters to report a fraud incident that involved both a dog walking job and money for dog food. The reporting party felt this was a scam and did not cash the check or give anyone money. A report was made for documentation.
Friday, July 4
10:30 a.m. — A South Salem woman came to headquarters to report a man trespassing on her property who recently has become aggressive and threatening. She said her family owns six parcels of undeveloped land and this man rides ATVs on her property. She said this has been going on for years despite posted no trespassing signs and cameras, which he has learned to avoid. Police made contact with the man and told him to stay off her property.
12:20 p.m. — Police went to a liquor store in South Salem for a report of a hate crime. A woman came into the store looking for wine but was unhappy with the selection. She began arguing with the store owner and spit at him. A man who was with her became involved and lunged at the owner, yelling, “Go back to your country, I’m calling ICE.” Depositions were taken by police regarding the incident.
Saturday, July 5
7:15 a.m. — Police went to a home on Old Oscaleta Road, South Salem, to assist New York State Police about someone on the property in violation of an order of protection. The person was arrested by the state police.
12:35 p.m. — A woman who fainted in Cameron’s Deli on Route 35 was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by LVAC. Her car was secured in the parking lot and the keys went to the hospital with her.
7:54 p.m. — A resident of South Salem, male, 35, fainted after hearing his friend’s dislocated shoulder being popped back into place. He fell face forward, landing on a stone walkway. The man was taken by Westchester EMS to Northern Westchester Hospital to be treated for two cuts near his eye.
Sunday, July 6
6:45 p.m. — Police went to Smith Ridge Road, South Salem, for a verbal argument between a husband and wife. Someone was slapped and a pizza was thrown. The parties were separated and a New York state domestic incident report was completed.
