Unofficial results of the Katonah-Lewisboro School District budget vote and trustee election show that Propositions 1 and 2, the school budget and capital reserve access proposition, were passed easily. But Proposition 3, authorizing bonding for a Pre-K and Community Center at the former Lewisboro Elementary School, failed by a margin of only 24 votes out of 2,833 cast.
Trustees Lorraine Gallagher and Bill Swertfager were reelected, and newcomer Stacey Isaacson won election to the board.
The vote totals for the three propositions were:
Proposition 1: 2026-27 School Budget
Yes 1,942 (69%)
No 885 (31%)
Total votes: 2,827
Proposition 2: Capital Reserve Access
Yes 1,979 (70%)
No 851 (30%)
Total votes: 2,830
Proposition 3: KLSD Pre-K and Community Center
Yes 1407 (49.6%)
No 1431 (50.5%)
Total votes: 2,833
Turnout was considerably ahead of the last two years, but not as high as in 2023, when 3,267 voters turned out.
More detailed results, including totals for each of the trustee candidates and vote breakdown by polling site, are expected to be released in coming days.
