Jordan Donald Ellsworth, a husband, father and grandfather from Goldens Bridge, died March 13 at the age of 77.
He was born May 3, 1948, in Binghamton, N.Y., to Richard Ellsworth and Drusilla (Jordan) Ellsworth.
Ellsworth is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carlota, children Christie (Erik) and Katherine (Tom), and four grandchildren; his brother, Jon Ellsworth, two sisters, Jill Cacciatore and Judy Ellsworth; and other family members and friends.
His family said he will be remembered for his selflessness, sense of humor and deep generosity of spirit. “He was the kind of man who put others first without a second thought,” according to the family. “Music moved him, his garden grounded him, and he found quiet delight in feeding the birds and chipmunks that visited his yard — small joys that reflected the gentleness of his soul.”
A celebration of life was held at the Katonah United Methodist Church on March 18.
