Groundbreaking at CCNW

The Community Center of Northern Westchester held a groundbreaking ceremony Jan. 15  for its renovation and expansion project. The event took place at the center’s location, 84 Bedford Road, Katonah. A group of about 40 guests gathered to witness the special occasion.  The renovation and expansion project will include renovations of the current facility and construction of a 3,500-square-foot addition, with energy efficiencies as a priority. It also will have expanded client service areas, a larger food pantry and a flexible use classroom. It will include an elevator for universal access, a spacious donation room and dedicated donor parking to streamline contributions.

Also part of the expansion is a covered food delivery and storage area, increased parking and improved traffic flow and land improvements for stormwater management and eco-friendly landscaping featuring native plants.
